Asian Civilization: Transcultural Nursing Course Credit : 3 units lecture Hours/Sem : 72 lecture hours Placement: First Semester BSN IV Course Description This course deals with the study of concepts and principles of Transcultural Nursing specifically the cultural diversity in health and illness, thus enabling the students to deliver quality nursing care with health consumers from various cultural backgrounds, Asian Pacific Islander, Black, Hispanics, American, Indian, Alaska Native and White population. General Objectives At the end of the course, the students will be able to: Cognitive: Affective: Acquire basic knowledge of cultural values and health/health beliefs and practices of clients with or without alterations in human functioning. Enhance their ability to deliver cultural care and sensitivity to personal fundamental values regarding health and illness.
Psychomotor: Develop care skills to provide the best care to all human beings.
