SHOW CASE OVERVIEW


The fun game show of minute to win it can be brought into the classroom as a great teaching tool.

OBJECTIVES
To develop competitive spirit among the students. To show the importance of team work and trust amongst members. To understand the McClellands achievement theory( need for achievement, power and affiliation) To enhance strategy making abilities. To cultivate communication skills. To learn to perform under deadlines and pressure.(Time management) To be spontaneous and quick.

Target group
Entire batch of training and development session

Target participantsRandom calling from the audience. They shall play throughout the 3 levels We have selected random calling because we believe that there are no specific traits required to play this game. Thus, we shall ask from the audience to come voluntarily.

LESSON PLANLevel 1-Don't Blow the Joker Activity REQUIRED ITEMS Number of participants

1) Stack a deck of cards face - 1 glass bottle 4 down with a joker face up on the bottom. - 1 deck of 52 cards plus a joker card 2) Center this stack of cards on the mouth of a glass bottle. 3) When the clock starts, player begins blowing cards off the top of the stack. 4) Player may not touch the cards or bottle. 5) To complete the game, a player must blow all cards off the stack, leaving only the joker atop the bottle within the 60-second time limit and it must remain there for 3 seconds.

Level 2- Collect the ball Activity REQUIRED ITEMS Number of participants

1) Cut 2 cardboard tubes so -4 inflatable balls that each is in 2 pieces, with 1 (approximately 10" diameter) piece twice as long as the - 3 cardboard tubes (from other (2 short tubes and 2 gift wrap) long tubes). - 1 blindfold

3 ( who have qualified LEVEL 1) +3 ( selected by the participants who have qualified LEVEL 1)

2) Spread out the tubes in a playing area so that they stand vertically with a ball balanced on top of each.

3) After being blindfolded, the player is spun around 2 times then the clock begins.

4) When the clock starts, the player begins searching for a ball (without crawling).

5) If a ball touches the floor at any time, it is out of play.

6) To complete the game, player must obtain 2 balls (holding them at the same time) within the 60-second time limit.

Level 3- Fight to finish- Bollywood style Activity Required Items This shall be the last level of the game. The participants shall be given a movie. Let us understand this with an exampleAgneepath (Leading actor HRITHIK, Leading actress PRIYANKA). Now, one participant has to select the actor or actress of this movie. For eg. He has selected HRITHIK; then he should give that movie name to another team which includes HRITHIK as a lead role, but with another actress. Eg. KahonaPyaarhai (AMISHA PATEL). Now another participant has to give a movie name which has AMISHA as a lead actress but with another actor (Bobby Deol). For eg. Humraaz And the game continues. Each participant will be given a time of 10 seconds. Number of participants 4 ( qualifying from level 2)

DEBRIEFThe activities of all the levels shall be carried out to fulfill the learning objectives. These activitieshave helped us (trainers) to assess the understanding ability and other skills of the participants. We evaluate the performance of the participant at individual as well as team level. There is also a quick evaluation of ability of the learners in the room to assimilate, retrieve and reproduce information (conceptual memory). The games are a combination of various skill and the (concepts learnt) understanding which brings in fun element into learning. Then we shall ask the participants about their learning. This training programme brings in a lot of positive energy in the room and boosts up the spirit of competition which is very essential in today corporate world.
