2. move way from the left hand side of the page 20mm and draw a LIGHT vertical line. 3. move up from the top of the border 30mm and draw a LIGHT horizontal line. 4. where these two lines intersect is your starting point (the point where you will begin vertical and horizontal measurements from) 5. from this point, and on the vertical line measure the height of your object (depending on which part of the object if the front view, it will be the height/thickness of the front view) and draw a horizontal line

6. from this line you just drew measure up another 20mm to make room for your headings. Draw one horizontal line at 10mm then another at 20mm (so they are 10mm apart).

7. now measure the width of your object (i.e how wide it is, this is the shorter measurement) and draw a horizontal line.

8. back at the starting point we are going to measure along the horizontal line. 9. measure the length of your object (longest side) and draw a vertical line

10. from this line do the same as step 6, draw two vertical lines 10mm apart

11. now we have our height, width and length lines In, and they are all light construction lines, we need to put our 45 degree line in so our lines from our plan (box 1) can be projected down into our elevation which will be in box 2. Draw a 45 degree line (with it sitting on your T-square) where the middle lines at the end of box 1 and 3 intersect. 12. where the 45 degree line meets the top horizontal line, take a vertical line down from this point

ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION

This is how you layout and ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION, now starting in box one, draw your plan view to the correct scale. Make sure you add everything you see when you are looking down on the object. Then project all horizontal lines across to the 45degree projection line. Where they hit the 45, take them down vertically into box 2. now draw the end elevation in this box. Finally take all horizontal liens you see in your end elevation (box 2) into box 3. and take all vertical lines you see in your plan (box 1) and project them down into box 3. construct the front elevation. Then put the correct headings in.
