FUTURE GROWTH PLANS

KAMCO is going for Technology collaboration with reputed European manufacturer and new products are in the anvil :

New Generation Power Tiller

Features of New Generation Power Tiller Power: 13.6 HP Light Weight Diesel Engine Front & rear PTO available Handle can be rotated by 360 Electric starting

Introduction
The proposed project consists of a factory for manufacturing new generation power tillers. The manufacturing facility shall Include buildings for the factory, facilities for storage and office buildings. The Installed capacity of the proposed unit is 12000 power tillers per annum. New generation power tillers are expected to capture domestic as well as export markets in the coming years as they are more efficient machines in terms of power and utility. The technology for this machine is proposed to be sourced from an European manufacturer

Investment
The agreement for technology transfer and collaboration with them is already entered into by KAMCO. The capital Investment for this project is Rs. 3000 Lakhs and the working capital for the first year of operation will be 1000 Lakhs

WHY NEW PRODUCT ?

New generation Power Tillers are powered with light weight air cooled diesel engine. These engines can beat stringent emission norms. The current model Power Tiller manufactured by KAMCO is basically a design perfected by the original manufacturer M/s Kubota Corporation, Japan, more than 50 years back. When Government of India introduced emission norms for Power Tiller also, KAMCO had to modify the engine to comply with the specifications. However, compliance with future emission norms would become difficult, for the existing product.

ADDED FEATURES
A part from the engines several other features make new generation power tiller an automatic choice for the farmers in future. These machines use direct power transmission from the engine to the gear box, thereby avoiding transmission losses to a great extent. New generation power tillers have independent controls for both power take off and traction wheels. A cardon shaft can link the power take off to the drive unit of the trailer so that power can be directly transmitted to the trailer wheels to give efficient traction. The rotary unit is provided with a cover which can be adjusted for safe working

MARKET ANALYSIS
Due to the Improved emphasis given by the State Government as also Central Government towards mechanization of Agriculture and thereby increasing the Agricultural output of the nation, the demand for Agricultural machinery has been on the increase for the last few years. The Power Tiller market has grown more than two fold during the last six years. The total requirement to the market during 2012-13 is expected to touch 60,000 Power tillers and is further expected to grow at around 20% per annum. The present production of Power Tiller in India is 40,000 Units per annum and the demand-supply gap is 20,000 Units at present and is growing at around 20% every year.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The assembly line for the new generation power Tiller is planned with assembly carts on which the components will be assembled in progressive manner as per the sequence. The proposed Power Tiller consists of nearly 600 components majority of these will be supplied by dedicated small and medium scale industries across the country. The engine which is a major component will be sourced from large scale manufacturer. All the components and sub assemblies will undergo inspection for conformity with specification. The Individual components where-ever required will undergo pre- treatment and painting in a phosphate and painting plant. The final product will be tested with a suitable testing arrangement to establish the performance standards.

PROJECT PARAMETERS
CAPACITY The proposed capacity of production is 12000 Power Tillers per annum in single shift operation . LAND The extent of land required for this project is 15 acres . The location is proposed to be in a place situated in north Kerala , where proximity of road, rail and air traffic network is available.

RAW MATERIAL
The main raw materials are components of the Power Tiller and different sub assemblies which will be sourced from vendors developed for this project. The existing vendors of KAMCO will also be given a chance to supply the items as per their capacity.

UTILITIES
The power requirement is estimated to be 250 KVA and this will be sourced from the KSEB grid and 100% backup with DG set will be provided. The proposed project will use ground water and the requirement will be to the tune of 10000 ltrs. in a day. The proposed unit is in the category of an engineering industry and thereby the chances of pollution are minimum. Environmental pollution will be curtailed by using proper ETP and STP systems.
