PROJET
Problems that are identified are as follows: AT RAMESH METAL QUARRY
Many young children in the age group of 5-16 yrs are not attending the school; some of them have started working also. Many girls have left their school and are doing daily household work. Boys who are not attending the school are mostly found playing around or loitering. According to some they have migrated from their village and so they do not have their leaving certificate to join school and also the medium of teaching was different. There is no proper health dispensary in the area, and the doctor visits only for an hour twice a week. Majority of children are suffering from cold, cough and fever. The main problem among all the children is weakness. They also suffer from skin diseases like scabies. The area is much polluted because of constant dust and explosion coming from the nearby quarry works. There is lack of water facilities in the area, there are only 3 taps available in the area and water supply is only for few hours in a day. There is no proper transportation facility which connects the quarry area to the main highway at Nerul. There are many illegal houses in the area which are prone to demolition, because of this reasons families need to keep changing place of residence which in turn directly impacts the children in terms of their education.

AT CHILDREN OF THE WORLD TRUST NGO. Lack of Funds:

NGO always try to raise fund for the development of their organization.
8

Now days NGOs are expressing difficulty in finding sufficient, appropriate and continuous funding for their work. They find accessing donors as challenging as dealing with their funding conditions. T they perceive there to be certain cartels of individuals and NGO that control access to donor funds. They have limited resource mobilization skills and are often not looking for funds that are available locally, preferring to wait for international donors to approach them. There is a high dependency of donors and a tendency to shift interventions to match donor priorities. There is a lack of financial, project and organizational sustainability.

EFFECT OF THIS PROBLEMS ARE

Many children do not attend tuitions, because their parents are out for work, there is no one to guide them at home. Children only complete their homework in the tuition no extra learning is done, they also do not listen to the teacher. Children mostly after the age 13-14 leave the school. Some students get their young siblings along, as they have no one to look after them at their home.

METHODOLOGY
The main objective of our survey was to find out the number of children and youth in the area not attending the school or doing child labor or just spending the time at home, looking after their siblings and doing their household work. After conducting this we did house to house survey and also collected the information from the locals.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: It is a well known fact that the most important step is defining the problem.

RECOMMENDATIONS

This children need to be counseled to join the school or college or given some vocational training so that they earn the living especially the girls. The time that they spend playing can be better utilized.

Teacher should be strict towards the student, as they take leniency for granted. Teacher should make student learn new things apart from doing their daily homework.

Parents and children both should be jointly counseled, regarding the importance of education.

Parents of students, especially of sponsored children should be given a periodic report of their attendance and progress in academics.

2-3 hours a week should be dedicated for conducting drawing or poetry class apart from academics as some student excel in it.

The number of children including the youth is very high, a proper direction needs to be given to them, and they can either join school or do some vocational training which will be helpful to them.

Start Balwadi near the area where people live, because of long distance it is hard for parents to send their small kids.

Like us before project, many people dont know about NGO and its work, so have to do some people awareness programs.
12

People are willing to work for good cause like this but because of there busy life they cant give their time, so ask them to help in Saturday and Sunday.

Give students awareness about changing technologies. Plan a tour to any school so they will know the competitors and competition.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Ive learned a lot from this project. If I would have not done this project I would have never known that people even stays in such environment and conditions. When I compare my childhood with children staying in the quarry I consider myself blessed that god gave me such caring parents who cared about my education and my future. It is not like that their parents do not care about their future but they are so busy in earning that they can not provide sufficient amount of time required . The most important thing I learnt during this activity was how to work in a team, how to co-ordinate with your team members so Ive learnt a lot during this activity.
