And Responding Heads certainly earns it's

keep.
What's a responding head? Well, it is exactly what it sounds like! A little head that sits on your desktop
waiting for your voice command, and then responding. How does it respond? That answer depends on
your voice command. You can say something and the head will animate and talk back to you, you can
ask to run a program, or have Responding Heads type for you, open your disk drive, tell you the time or
date, and so much more. I use Responding Heads for a lot of things, many of which you don't see on
screen, things just go on quietly(or loudly with the head talking back to you giving an audio indication
of what's going on). This helps keep Windows clean and uncluttered, and it can be a lot quicker
opening programs than clicking Start, Programs, and then waddling through menus, blah blah blah...
Very useful in helping me work productively and efficiently.
Responding Heads has it's own little scripting language of sorts, to automate many tasks. The one thing
that Responding Heads 3.5 is not good at is using the Dictation plugin. But for me that isn't a big
drawback, I just create my own words and phrases that I use a lot and Responding Heads happily types
what I need, quickly and accurately. I do recommend completing some voice training in Speech
Recognition and using a quality headset microphone with noise reduction. Right now Responding
Heads latest version is at 4.0 Beta. I have just installed it under Win 7, and have RH 3.5 running under
XP. For some strange reason I haven't been able to get RH4 running under XP. Adsa tells me that no
one else gets the same error message I do. I will provide my RH 3.5 brainlist for you to examine, as it
may provide you with ideas of your own on what can be done with the program. When I become
familiar with RH4 I will report back and provide my brain. One thing to note is that with Win 7,
speech recognition is built in, and handles running just about anything with voice commands, and
dictation too, but no little cool head looking back at you. ;>}
