We the parishioners of Saint Michael the Archangel, through leadership and strong traditions are faithful disciples of the teachings of Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church. We commit ourselves to be generous stewards of our faith, our parish, and our community. We strive to involve all members to be united in one parish family for the salvation of all. Notes from the Pastor: We may be without a Pope for now but we are not orphans! After all it is Jesus Christ who is the head of the body, the Church. More than that He promised us, that I will be with you always until the end of the age. (Matthew 28:20) With these words alone, I could not understand why other people are worried that the Pope have resigned. We should respect his decision. He is human like us. If we believe in God, we should trust His words. The Church has been here even before we were born and have come across lots of trials and difficulties through the years, and the Church is still here. This is Gods Church, therefor let God do His part. Trust Him. We also hear lots of media commentaries suggesting who should be the next pope. Some even come up with some kind of list of papabile or possible Popeables. For me, making this list is like predicting the end of the world. Like it, only God knows! He was the one who chose Saint Peter, who was the less likely according to human standards to be a leader of all the apostles. The Apostles themselves relied on the power of the Holy Spirit when they chose the replacement for Judas Iscariot by praying for the Holy Spirits guidance. This is also how the conclave is conducted. They cardinals rely most of all of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thats what we need to do as well - to continue to pray. Thats what we can effectively do. Pray for His Holiness Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, pray for the all the cardinals who will be electing the new Pope, and pray for the Church. Trust in God! I am sure He will take care of His church! Let us also pray for our High School kids who are going to receive the sacrament of confirmation. Pray that they will be inspired and strengthened to go through the studies and spiritual exercise seriously like the retreat scheduled this weekend at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita which will provide them opportunities to reflect on the sacrament they will be receiving. Some of them raise the question if this is compulsory, instead of looking at its benefits for their spiritual life. I could feel Satan pulling them away from these preparations, which is expected, so I ask all of you to join me in Next Sunday(03/10/2013) 10:00 AM Cooper Puckett, B. Scales, I. Fisher, P. Amershek, J. Duling Anna Goble Michelle Puckett Ron & Jeanette Davied praying for them. Reminder also to all Confirmation Sponsors that your presence is highly required this Wednesdays session, March 6th. The session will be right after mass and will be held in the Church. Pray also for our 2nd graders who will be making their first reconciliation this coming Saturday, March 9 th, and then their first communion on April 28th. I would like to thank Mark Peak who cleaned our walk ways around the church and the hall during the first snow storm Thursday, last week, and Dave Garrett who brought his tractor and cleaned our drive ways and parking lot, Saturday morning. Then last Tuesday, the morning after the second snow storm, Kurt Zeigler came with his tractor and plowed and cleaned our drive ways and parking lot. Thank you so much for offering your time, talent, and treasure for the greater glory of God. May God bless you a hundredfold for your generosity. Next Sunday, March 10th Arma Parish will be hosting their Spaghetti Feed. During our Fall Bazaar or Turkey Dinner, many of them also came here to support us. I hope we will reciprocate and show our love for our neighbor and support of our sister parish, I am inviting you to spare some of your precious time by coming to Arma. They will be serving until 2PM. May God bless you all! Fr. Roger
