The said training aimed to train the participants on food and beverage service that includes waitering, room service, flower arrangement, and table setting and skirting. On August 3, 2012, TESDA officials tested the skills of the inmates and posted a 100% passing rate (31 individuals), surpassing the 96% passing rate posted by the Batch 1 of trainees. Each of the participants were given a National Certificate II (NC II) issued by TESDA. The said program commenced last May 22, 2012. According to Mrs. Bernadeth Gabor, the active and dedicated participation of the inmates have led to the 100% passing rate of the inmates in the highly strict testing procedures of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. The TESDA officials commended the performance of the inmates, to whom TESDA officials referred to as inspiring individuals. During the closing program, the inmates said that they are very blessed to have BPSU trainings that are given to them. On September 28, another agriocultural program was conducted dubbed as Technology Forum cum seminar on SP Using CPM. It was held in Binukawan, Bagac, Bataan with 59 farmers in attendance to avail of the said training program. The following day, September 28, 2012, a training on aerobic rice technology was conducted. Fifty (50) farmers were trained under this activity held at the Farmers Training Center in BPSU Abucay Campus. Aerobic rice technology was first introduced in the Philippines by the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) approximately ten years ago. Field trials and experiments were established in the provinces of Tarlac and Nueva Ejica. The technology showed favorable impacts. Its potentials, as well as the challenges that could befall, were identified. It was found out that while aerobic rice technology could help reduce water requirement by 30-50% during the dry season thereby decreasing input cost, the yield could decline by 15-20%.
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has partnered with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the promotion of Philippine Aquasilviculture, which aims to protect and restore habitats for fisheries and aquatic resources.
Atty. Asis Perez, BFAR Director, said the twopronged objectives of the project would also result in higher job generation and livelihood for the marginal fisherfolk and the fisheries graduates as well. Under the P237.5-million Aquasilviculture, BFAR and CHED aim to plant 11 million mangrove trees for mangrove habitat rehabilitation, establish 62 units of multi-species hatchery, and develop 100 technodemo aquasilvi-farms in coastal areas nationwide. A very successful Farmers Field Day on Science and Technology-Based Farm (STBF) Slaughter Goat production was held at Barangay Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan on August 31, 2012. The said Farmers Field Day, which was considered as the most well-attended Field Day, is a culminating activity of an STBF project which showcases the farmers success on the use of science and technology intervention for agricultural productivity. Seventy-eight (78) individuals composing of BPSU research and extension personnel, farmers, municipal officers and the municipal mayor, barangay captains and councillors in the concerned area were present during the field day. Hon. Elpidio Estibar Jr., Brgy Captain of Alas-asin and Hon. Jessie I. Concepcion, Municipal Mayor were present in the event. Dr. Teotimo M. Aganon, Director of Central Luzon Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CLARRDEC) and Dr. Edwin Villar, Director for Livestock, Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development

The said STBF Slaughter Goat Production in Mariveles used three interventions such as the use of AngloNubian buck, a technologically modified shelter, and the planting of grass and legumbre. These three interventions made contributed to the productive output. DURING THE ACTIVITY, Dr. Paguia discussed the overview of the S&T Based Farm Project being the focal person. The group of extensionists of BPSU Orani Campus headed by Dr. Felicisima E. Tungol, Chairman of the Research and Extension Services, together with Mrs. Angelina P. Acua, BEEd Coordinator, Mr. Pablo V. Acua Jr., the Proponent of the Extension Service, Miss Khristina Anne A. Dimarucut, speaker, Mrs. Digna M. De Guzman, 2nd speaker, Mrs. Elizabeth L. Medairos, Extension Coordinator, arrived in the venue at the Principals Office of Paraiso Elementary School at 1:00 pm. All the equipments for Multi-Media Presentation were arranged and taken cared by Mr. Pablo V. Acua Jr., being the proponent of the seminar. The seminar on Stress Management was not only intended for the Elementary Grade Teachers but for the parents of the Grade VI Section I Class. There were 8 parents who had attended the seminar together with the 16 teachers. As a whole there were 24 participants in Stress Management. Both groups had seen the seminar a very fruitful one. Caring for the environment has been one of the most important issues that are being addressed by concerned government agencies now. To take part in the movement for environmental awareness and conservation, the BPSU Balanga Campus conducted an awareness seminar of the protection of the environment among the residents of Sitio Bani in Cataning, City of Balanga, Bataan. Sitio Bani is a hillside community under the City of Balanga. The seminar was held last July 19, 2012 at Sitio Bani Elementary School. In the said seminar,
various simple ways on how to help preserve and conserve the environment were tackled. Likewise, proper waste disposal was also discussed among the residents of the said area. The dangers of environmental degradation were discussed in the said program. After this education campaign, the campus is set to conduct mobilization activities to encourage residents to act and do something on environmental protection. Speaker: Mr. Alvin B. The Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) once again partnered with the Bataan peninsula State University to provide parenting seminar among its members last July 5, 2012 at the Limay Multi-Purpose Hall, Limay, Bataan. BPSU, Samal LGU partners for Artworks and Puppetry as Teaching Method Seminar-Workshop
In a generation of multimedia and high-tech gadgets for teaching and learning, a traditional method of creating a fun atmosphere for learning among day care pupils was advocated in the Seminar-Workshop on the Current Method of Teaching Thru Artworks and Puppetry. The said training program was held at the Bulwagan ng Bayan II at the Capitol Compound last June 29, 2012. One hundred and thirty (130) day care teachers participated in the said pioneer program for day care teachers in the province. The Bataan Federation of Day Care Teachers (BFDCT), which involves the town of Abucay, Ora-

The training also included a basic photography workshop to enhance the knowledge and skills of seventeen (17) selected SFC participants. The said series of programs were conducted to provide a holistic or complete health awareness program among the residents of Bani, Cataning, Balanga City. It is important that health programs are given in full with emphasis on the identified needs of the people in the area. According to Mrs. Susan C. Laggui, Associate Director for Extension in Balanga Campus, health programs are one the key extension activities in Balanga Campus. She also added that the programs will soon be expanded to other adopted barangays of the University.
