Second Month

In this month we are being oriented on how to state the specific learning outcomes.
In this discussion, I have learned that in doing we must begin with an action verb,
be sure that the learning outcomes are relevant to the general objectives it describes.
Include enough specific learning outcomes to able to have a clear description of
attained objectives and keep it free from course content so that the list can be used with
various unit of study, it also said that its important to consult references and add third
level of specificity.
The reporters also introduced the test suitable for every corresponding cognitive
level such as understanding and application levels. They stated different outcomes like
ability co identify, do apply facts and principles, ability to interpret cause and effect and
ability to justify method and procedures.
We have also the discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of using
multiple choice items. And they enumerate some helpful suggestion on how to make it
prepare well, they also discussed its components regarding this we have the stem, and
the alternatives.
They also tackled its different forms and uses.
In this month we also learned about the true or false items and its uses and limitations.

First Month
On this month I have learned so many things. I understand what is evaluation is all
about, its importance and its use in education.
Assessment is done in schools in order to measure the achievements and
developments of our students.
The reporters gave us three suitable time assess our student, the first is before
we begin our specific instructional segment, we call this as pre-tests. They said that we
do this in order to determine the student’s pre-requisite skill needed for the instruction,
and to measure the extent of our student’s achievements. We also have testing and
assessment during the instruction in order to monitor our student’s progress, detecting
learning errors and provide feedback for the teachers to reflect what is needed to be
enhanced in his/her teaching. And of course we have the end of instruction testing and
assessment which we use in measuring the achieved level of intended learning
outcome.
I have also learned that we need to learn how to make a table of specification
which is said to have these following components: the instructional objectives, course
content and the two way chart.
In this month I also have the idea of different kinds of tests t be used
corresponding to assess different learning outcomes of our students.
In this manner we have the so called Objective Test Items, and The Performance Based
Assessments. The reporters had discussed the comparison between them, the scoring
or rating processes, and its reliabilities. They also gave some helpful things to consider
in preparing a relevant assessment tasks.
