Syd Barrett was a British singer, songwriter, guitarist, and painter, best remem bered as a founder member of the band Pink Floyd. He was the lead vocalist, guit arist, and primary songwriter during the band's psychedelic period, providing ma jor musical and stylistic direction in their early work. He was the principal fo rce on the group's first album: Piper at the Gates of Dawn. He wrote and perform ed on several of the group's singles: Arnold Layne, See Emily Play, Candy and a Currant Bun. Set of unreleased Syd Barrett and early Pink Floyd material. This is a nineteen CD collection of unreleased material. Mu ch of the material came from clones of 1st gen tapes (all of disc 3, for example ). From there, the sound was enhanced digitally -- distortion and tape hiss were removed, speeds were corrected. By the way, with different source tracks, the b est quality was always chosen. Months of effort went into the project and the Sy d community has been well-pleased with the result.
