Gods Will Regarding Healing

Here is what Jesus said about himself and his Fathers will: John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

As Jesus could do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do and as he did not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me then we can know what the Fathers will is by observing what Jesus did. Here is what the scriptures say that Jesus did during his earthly ministry: Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Here is how Jesus taught his disciples to pray: Matt 6:9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (NIV)

In heaven there is no sickness. Jesus taught us to pray that Gods kingdom would come on earth as it is in heaven. That would mean that there would be no sickness where Gods kingdom comes on earth. Jesus often said to those who he healed and preached to the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you. Notice that preaching the kingdom of God and healing the sick often were done together: Luke 9:2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

Jesus never refused to heal anyone and never put sickness on anyone. The only record of those he could not heal were those with unbelief. There was no time recorded when someone came to him was told we are not going to heal you so you can learn a lesson through this illness or we are giving you this disease so that God can be glorified through it. Isaiah prophesied that healing and salvation were both accomplished at the cross through Jesus atonement for our sins. Isa 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Peter, who walked with Jesus, had this to say: (notice the past tense, its already done) 1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed.
