With the Blue Ridge Mountains at your doorstep and The Great Smokey Mountains National Park a short ride away, youll find opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors at every turn. Appalachian Trail and Pisgah National Forest surround you with millions of acres of forests, lakes, streams, trails and more than enough places to hike, bike, raft, camp, fish and build up a lifetimes worth of family memories. The fly fishing has been favorably compared to what can be found in Montana and with more than 2,500 miles of trout streams, its easy to find your own special bend in the river. For those who prefer a more rapid pace, whitewater rafting and kayaking provides a thrill and a challenge for all skill levels. Ready for more? For starters, there are botanical gardens, lakeside beaches, ski resorts, mountain bike trails and hot air balloon launches. In short, enough ongoing diversions to ensure that youll never run out of outdoor adventures. And after all your outdoor adventures, youll appreciate the ability to relax and rejuvenate on your deck overlooking the beauty just outside your door. Or ease the ache of tired muscles under the skilled hands of a trained masseuse at one of Ashevilles many spas. And dont miss one of the East Coasts only natural hot spring water sources, in Hot Springs, NC, which has been attracting visitors since its discovery in the 1700s. In fact, from the Asheville Country Club at the foot of the mountain, to the dozens of other courses spread through the Ciel region, you may have a hard time deciding which is your favorite. Which means youll have a wonderful time making up your mind. Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Donald Ross and many others have contributed their handiwork, creating what are at once some of the most challenging and the most breathtaking courses you will find anywhere. And thanks to the agreeable weather patterns, youll have the opportunity to enjoy them throughout the year. Over the years, Asheville and its environs have become known as a cantmiss destination for true golf aficionados. A quick glance at the list of course designers and youll understand why.
In addition to local activities, Ashevilles minor league baseball is alive and well in Asheville, so theres always a chance to root for the home team. Or, you can get out of the stands and onto the field, for rugby, track, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee or other club sports. As well as a haven for artists, craftspeople, athletes and musicians, Asheville has also drawn an impressive list of innovative and award-winning chefs and bakers, and developed a well-deserved reputation for serving up some of the finest food in the region. With literally dozens of restaurants to choose from in the downtown area alone, Asheville is the perfect place for Sunday brunch, a gourmet meal, a late-evening cocktail and everything in between. A little bit further afield, and more off the beaten path, the towns of Weaverville, Brevard, Hendersonville and Black Mountain reward afternoon excursions with a unique assortment of indigenous crafts, distinctive antiques and fine dining. All of this only touches on the delights that Asheville and the surrounding area can offer. Which is one more reason youll appreciate having a home nearby that affords ample opportunities for exploration and discovery. And one more reason that your new home at Ciel will truly be something heavenly.

As you wind your way up Elk Mountain Scenic Highway and approach the ridgeline above 3100 feet, youre enveloped by the beauty and majesty of mature, plentiful hardwood trees. Towering white and red oaks, some with trunks bigger than three people can encircle, are intermingled with rolling stands of cherry, hickory, maple, locust and poplar, and cover the mountainside as far as the eye can see. Was it this that first drew you to Ciel? Or was it the view the trees revealed? It is a breathtaking view, one that opens slowly as you approach the southern boundary of your property offering up chance, tantalizing glimpses before opening into a panorama that encompasses everything from downtown Asheville to the Pisgah National Forest. Here, you are of the world. And at the same time, in another world. You are home.

Each unique home site has been carefully placed to minimize the impact on your land, and maximize the impact on your senses. All of the sites, generously sized, maintain the vast majority of their natural tree cover, with only enough moved aside to make room for your home and your own southern vista.

privacy, and connect with the great outdoors. You can watch the seasons change across the majestic canvas at your feet, and follow the path of a single leaf, on a single branch, on a single tree.
And with such close proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville, you can get away from it all, and still be part of everything you enjoy.

It is also an understated architectural wonder that eloquently expresses both the attention to detail and commitment to natural beauty that are the hallmark of the community. Placed around the pavilion are an active organic garden for colorful home-grown flowers and tasty vegetables, a fire pit perfect for warming up on a cool fall evening, and a playground that seems to have sprung from the boulders and logs themselves just the thing to spark the imaginations of budding naturalists. From here, and running throughout the 117-acre property, a network of private trails offers access to scenic views, picnic nooks, and secluded spots ideal for yoga, meditation or quiet contemplation.
