Profile

Throughout my career I have been working in both small and large companies with R&D and manufacturing. This has given me a powerful experience on how to develop products, with a high manufacturing maturity and robustness. My experience and competences can be divided into the following groups: Thermal management within components and systems using conventional or next generation cooling, on both theoretical and practical level. Ensuring and verification of thermal and mechanical robustness of components and systems. Optimization of product or process by using a combination of practical experiments, data analysis with simulations/calculations. Development of Scientific software. Design for manufacturing process, to ensure a good balance between a functional and manufacturing optimal solution. Through my various jobs I have gained a strong international and professional network, which includes a wide range of companies and universities, each leading within their specific areas. I believe that problems should not be a limitation but rather a motivator for new ways of thinking. When I have an idea, I am not afraid to break new ground if it provides better solutions. As a person I am a specialist with a high focus on details and facts, but also on the practical point of view, since I believe this is the optimal path to successful products. I am an easy going person with an open mind for creative discussion.

Work experience

2012 2013 Dantherm Power - R&D Engineer My key responsibilities were thermal management and system modeling on Fuelcell based micro heat and power plant project. Improved existing models of Fuellcells model to match system under development using Scilab, Excel and VMGSim. Evaluated performance of key components using mathematical models. 2008 2012 Vestas Control - Production Technology Specialist. Hired to ensure Design for Manufacturing in control and converter system. Due to my background I have gradually been more and more involved in R&D tasks. Played a key role in root cause analysis group with responsibility of mechanical and thermal stress measurement, finding not obvious root causes. Key member of pre-projects groups scanning two phase cooling technologies for next generation wind turbine cooling Successfully executed several system studies examining each sub-component to determine the optimal configuration. Successfully led a cross functional group with the responsibility of Design for Manufacturability on Electro-Mechanical systems. Tested and evaluated new productions technologies and processes. 2006 2008 Asetek, Researcher. As a member of the Technology Research team, I had the responsibility; to optimize cooling solutions, to research in new single-phase and two-phase cooling technologies and to assist the engineering department. Developed and tested models of components to evaluate feasibility of new design and technologies using Scilab, Mathcad and Icepak. Driver of an international project developing two phase heat spreaders for CPU cooling. Successfully completed several system studies examining sub-component to determine the optimal system configuration. Applied principles of thermal dynamic theory to improve product development and efficiency. 2006 Grundfos, PTA engineer. I was employed in the Aalestrup factory which manufactures submersible pumps and booster parts. Conducted study of GTAW parameter to determine optimal welding parameter Ensured quick problem solving on automated production line. 2001-2005 Aalborg University, Department of Production. - Amanuensis. During this period I was working as a student advisor and was supervising several Master of Science student projects. One of my roles as an external consultant in Force Technology in the welding and production division. Extended simulation code to include other welding process. Developed graphical user interface and manuals for developed software Assisting in the process of building a consortium with the goal of improving and commercialized the system developed in the research project. 1998-2001 Aalborg University, Department of Production. - Researcher. In my research project, I developed software for off-line programming of robotic welding. This system was designed to continuously determine the optimal transient welding parameter trajectory which results in an optimal welding quality even under large variations in the workpieces. Development of complex off-line application for welding robots based on thermal models using Diffpack and Matlab. Led a series of welding seminars for interested companies. Built thermal software which was used for PhD and Master degree projects. Built algorithms which automatically could calibrate and enhance accuracy of welding simulations based on simple measurements in welding experiments.

The recommendations showed here are selections from the recommendations I have received at my LinkedIn profile. The contact information for these persons can be found there. Bendix Lehmann, Senior Specialist, System Engineer, Vestas Control Systems A/S It has been a great pleasure to be colleague to Christian. Christian has many good sides, but I would particularly highlight his analytical skills to find the solution stored in huge measurement data. It not very often you meet a person who is able to quickly analyze data, and hereafter very quickly find the very small differences, that may finally have been proved to be the decisive parameters and proves, that have been identified to be the solution to a specific problem. Although that Christian is a quiet fellow, he has a high degree of social responsibility and a contagious and good humor. I can therefore give Christian my best recommendations.

Svend Erik Christensen, Senior Specialist, Production Technology, Vestas Control Systems A/S Since November 2008 I had the pleasure to work closely together with Christian on some major technology development projects. I have learned to know Christian as a logical, original and creative thinking person. He becomes very excited about theories and ideas and he is exceptionally capable to turn theories into clear understandings. I can only give Christian my best recommendations, and will gladly provide for further information.

Peter Hansen, Power Electronics Control Engineer, Vestas Wind Systems A/S I have been working with Christian in reviewing thermal management technologies for power electronics, and I am impressed with the level of Christian's knowledge to the field and dedication to the task.

Tusitha Abeyasekera,PhD, R&D, Vestas Wind Systems A/S Christian's deep technical insight and judgment has been an inspiration in high density power electronics R&D.

Kay Lindgaard Pedersen, Senior Project Manager, Vestas Control Systems A/S Christian worked in my team as specialist and delivered true value through thoroughness and systematic approach to the challenges within his area of expertise.

Andr S. Eriksen, CEO, Asetek A/S. Christian works in our research group and is doing a solid job. Christian is very interested in his job but also in the company in general. He has humor (although a bit weird like all Ph.D's :) ) and a nice personality.
