Electricalinspectionconsistsofthreeseparatetests: 1. PreliminaryElectricalInspection(Max10minutes) Themainfunctionofthepreliminaryinspectionistoimpresstheimportanceofsafeworkingpracticesandto ensureelectricalsafetyforfollowingmechanicalinspections.Itincludes: Requestforelectricalsafetydocumentation(Rule4.10).AteamcannotstartElectricalScrutineering untilthisdocumentationisreceived IdentificationofTeamSafetyOfficer(FH2.1.9) Ageneralsafetyreviewwiththeteam Reviewoftagout/lockout(FH3.4.12)andvehiclejackstandprocedures(FH6.10.6) Acheckforexposedhighvoltageterminals,etc. Properoperationofaccumulatorcontactors(ThatnoHVexitsEScontainers,orthatthevehicleis otherwisedeenergizede.g.Andersonplugremovedandcapped). NoungroundedconductivepenetrationsintheEScontainers Noungroundedconductivepartsorbodypanelsetc.,thatcouldbecomeenergized ThattheLVsystembattery(ifused)isfused Acheckforotherelectricalsafetyissues 2. SafetyEquipmentandCharging(Max15minutes) Thisinspectionisdonebyrovinginspectionteamswhochecksafetyequipmentandchargingequipmentineach teamsgaragebay.Theseinspectionteamswillalsobelookingoutforsafetyissuesandsafeworkingpractices (safetyglasses,lockout/tagout,chargermonitoringetc.).Teamsmaynotchargetheirvehiclesuntilcharging equipmenthasbeeninspectedandmarkedwithapasssticker. 3. ElectricalScrutineering(Max40minutes) Electricalsystemdocumentation(FH4.10)mustbehandedtoelectricalinspectorsbeforethistestcanbegin. Thisisthemainelectricalscrutineeringtest.AllareasoftheFHelectricalrulesarecoveredincluding: Highvoltageisolation Operationofmastersafetyswitches(BigRedButtons) Noexposedhighvoltageconnections Highvoltageinsulation,wiringandconduit Fusing Accumulatortypeandsize Energystoragecontainerelectricalandmechanicalrequirements Lowvoltagecircuitrequirements Offboardchargingequipment NotethattheabilityoftheMasterSwitchestoshutdownanICengineisperformedinthefinalmechanicaltest: Noise,MasterSwitch,andBrakeTest.

InspectionForms&Stickers
Inspectionformsforeachofthethreetestsarefilledinbytheinspectorsastestingprogresses.Ifateamfailsa test,thefailureisdocumentedontheform,andtheteamisaskedtoremedyproblemsandretest.Onceatest isfullycompleted,theformissignedoffbytheinspectorsandfiled.Uponsuccessfulcompletionofthe preliminaryandsafetyequipment/chargertests,Passstickersaregiventotheteamsbytheinspectors.Upon completionofthemainscrutineeringtest,thechiefelectricalinspectorwillreviewallformsandprovidesigned Finalelectricalstickertotheteam.

Location
PreliminaryandfinalelectricalInspectionwillbelocatedatatentintheS2lotonSundayandattheCentral GarageonMonday.Teamswilllinetheirvehiclesupinonequeueforpreliminaryinspection,andanother queueforscrutineering.Safetyandchargerinspectionwillbeperformedintheteamgaragearea.

Time
Ifateamexceedsthemaximumtimeallotted,theymaybeaskedtoresolveoutstandingissuesandrequeuefor thetest.
