AT&T EXPANDS NATIONS LARGEST 4G NETWORK TO LAKE GEORGE AREA

New Cell Site Activated as Part of Ongoing AT&T Investment in Local Wireless Network PILOT KNOB, N.Y., MAR., 26, 2013 The nations largest 4G network just got larger for customers in the Lake George area. AT&T* has activated an additional new 4G mobile Internet cell site that will enhance existing 4G coverage for area residents and businesses and provide speeds up to four times faster than 3G.** Customers can now enjoy 4G speeds in Pilot Knob, along Route 32 (Pilot Knob Road) on the eastern shore of Lake George, across the lake and also on Route 9N (Lake Shore Drive) along the western shore between Washington and Warren Counties. AT&T customers have access to the nations largest 4G network, covering more than 285 million people and now 3,000 more 4G cities and towns than Verizon.*** The 4G expansion is part of AT&Ts continuing network investment to support the growing demand for mobile devices, apps and faster mobile Internet speeds. Demand for wireless speed is growing rapidly, and we are excited to bring these super-fast speeds to the community in Endicott and Endwell, said Marissa Shorenstein, president, AT&T New York. Investments in the local mobile network also help to create economic opportunities for consumers and small businesses throughout Broome County.

From 2010 to 2012, AT&T invested more than $1.4 billion in its New York wireless and wireline networks with a focus on expanding 4G LTE mobile Internet coverage and enhancing the overall performance of its networks. AT&T has deployed two compatible 4G technologies to deliver more speed to more smartphone customers, which means AT&T customers can get 4G speeds on 4G HSPA+, unlike competitors, where smartphone customers fall back to slower 3G technologies when outside of LTE coverage. AT&Ts Project Velocity IP is a strategic plan to invest $14 billion over the next three years to expand its wireless and wireline IP broadband networks. As part of Project Velocity IP, AT&Ts 4G LTE network is expected expand to cover 300 million people by year-end 2014, and its wireline IP network is expected to extend to 57M customer locations, covering 75% of locations in AT&Ts wireline service area by year-end 2015.
