Determination of viable geological prospects for hydrocarbon exploration in Type I areas located in the Upper Magdalena Valley (UMV), Middle Magdalena Valley (MMV), Lower Magdalena Valley (LMV), Cordillera (COR), Caguan (GAG), Putumayo (PUT), Llanos (LLA), and Catatumbo (CAT) to enter in the Open Round 2010 offered by the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos ANH. 2. Review of the stratigraphic (well logs in LAS, LIS, and DLIS format, composite graphic logs in JPG, GIF, and PDS format, well coordinates, checkshots, deviation data, and stratigraphic, biostratigraphic, and geochemistry reports in PDF format) and seismic data (2D and 3D seismic lines and respective processing such as Migration and Stacking, navigation data such as ukooas, and images of the respective seismic lines for quality check - QC) of the Type I areas offered in the Open Round 2010 by the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos ANH in the Upper Magdalena Valley (UMV), Middle Magdalena Valley (MMV), Lower Magdalena Valley (LMV), Cordillera (COR), Caguan (CAG), Putumayo (PUT), Llanos (LLA), and Catatumbo (CAT). 3. Meetings with the CEOs of the Exploration and Production (E & P) companies in the hydrocarbon sector in Colombia to asses the viability of acquiring producing wells or areas and/or percentages of areas with producing wells by the company. 4. Determination of the most viable geological and geophysical (G & G) software to be acquired by the company as part of the process of the adecuation of the E & P department. The G & G software analyzed according to their technical capabilities for interpretation and costs were Landmarks GeoGraphix, Schlumbergers Petrel, IHS Petra, Paradigms Gocad, Gesists Seisware, and SMTs Kingdom Suite. 5. Job interviews to determine the most viable candidates to fulfill the E & P Petroleum Engineer, HSE Engineer, and Geologist job opening positions offered by the company and required to enter in the Open Round 2010 as specified in the Terms of Reference of the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos ANH.

Petrographic, Stratigraphic, Sedimentologic, and Geochemical analyses of the Guadalupe Allogroup in the Llanos foothill area for petroliferous purposes.

2. Project Management for the Petroleum Industry using software such as Primavera and Ms-Project a. Execution time and costs of the projects listed in 1.a, 1.b, and 1.c items using project management software such as Ms. Project and Primavera, which allow an adequate general visualization of critical items inside processes.

3. Remote sensing for geological mapping using software such as ERDAS, ILWIS, IDRISI, and ArcGIS a. Geomorphological analyses of faults and structural surfaces were performed in study areas for determination of possible structural tramps for petroliferous purposes as a complement of the Petrographic, Stratigraphic, Sedimentological, and Geochemical analyses performed in the Colombian Cretaceous Basin listed in 1.a, 1.b, and 1.c items. These analyses were performed with radar images using GIS software such as ERDAS, ILWIS, and IDRISI. Further, the faults and structural surfaces were mapped in ArcGIS with their respective units.
