The proven powertrain
transmission has been specifically
designed for a rubber-belted tractor
and carries full horsepower in all
gears on the MT835B to MT865B
models. The Machine System
Protection Software (MSPS) is active
on the MT875B, which activates a
warning when working under high
load conditions under 4 mph, followed
by the de-rating of the engine
horsepower if load conditions remain
unchanged. The CAT 16F/4R
Powershift transmission is built to the
toughest specifications in the industry
and is proven to be one of the most
reliable on the market.
More undercarriage options allow
you to tailor the Challenger MT800B
tractor to fit your operation, with 4
belt widths and 3 treadbar designs to
put more power to the ground.
The sophisticated tractor
management centre (TMC)
combines an innovative display with
ergonomic controls. The TMC displays
performance data in a simple format
and allows you to optimise
performance easily. Innovations such
as the One-TouchTM management
system, Power Management, and GPS
Auto-GuideTM, are all conveniently
controlled using the TMC. A new
feature allows you to monitor real
time track tension, warning the
operator when the track tension on
each belt reaches potentially
damaging levels, high or low.
The exclusive steerable 3-point
hitch & controlled drawbar
options provide an all-new way to
match implement control with the
tractor. Both of these options give
the tractor better turning
performance under load and allow
the operator to manage how the
implement trails the tractor. The
MT800B
3-point linkage option is available on
models from MT835B to MT865B.
The refined Mobil-TracTM system
features the longest wheelbase in the
industry (3000 mm) and an in-line
reaction arm that isolates tension
from the driveline and tractor chassis.
Changing gauge is fast and easy and
can be done without detensioning the
belt. The track gauge is adjustable
from 2286 to 2601 mm (EU) or
3251 mm (non-EU countries).
The Opti-RideTM suspension
provides a smooth ride over the
roughest terrain. Four semi-
suspended midwheels move
independently, so the track follows
the contour of the ground. Marsh
Mellow® springs and a stabiliser bar
isolate the suspended hardbar from
the chassis. Left and right
undercarriages operate
independently and the hardbar floats
so the undercarriage smoothly
“walks” over obstacles.

A. LARGE DIAMETER DRIVER
Higher crop clearance under the axles, plenty of belt-to-driver grip and longer belt life are among the benefits
of the large diameter, 1549 mm driver, the largest in its class. The wide chevron grooves on the surface of
the driver shed mud and increase driver grip.
B. IN-LINE REACTION ARM
The unique in-line reaction arm tensions each belt independently and keeps that tension in line and isolated
from the tractor drive axles and frame. The 111.21 kN of tension provides optimum belt-to-driver grip
without placing stress on the tractor frame, which is now monitored in the cab. Quick, easy gauge changes
can be made without detensioning the belt.
C. FRONT IDLER
The 940 mm diameter front idler reduces rolling resistance and improves belt wear life. The rubber-coated
surface is smooth for reduced vibration.
D. MOUNTING HOLES
Mounting holes for chemical tanks and other attachments are built right into the Mobil-tracTM system to

E. ADVANCED RUBBER COMPOUNDS

The spacious cab, with 6.3m2 of useable
glass area, gives the operator a
commanding view of everything to the
front, rear and sides. The parallel-sweep
front wiper fully clears the windshield,
and the optional side wiper keeps the
right window clear as well.
For an unobstructed view of wide
implements, rear ROPS cab posts are in
line with the operator’s shoulder, and the
swivel seat allows a view of the
implements with minimum strain. Tinted
glass and optional retractable sun visors
reduce the sun’s glare and help keep the
interior cool on the hottest days.
Shallow angle steps make the Challenger
easy to enter and exit, and the optional
second handrail offers additional support.
Plenty of storage space is designed into the
interior. There’s a mobile phone holder, a
coat hook, a temperature-controlled
compartment to keep your lunch warm or
cool, and more storage areas located
throughout the cab. A large toolbox is
integrated into the entry platform to keep
tools, chains and other necessities outside
the cab where they belong.
You can easily install auxiliary equipment
like monitors, radios etc., with the 10
mounting bosses provided. A monitor
mounting bar provides ample space to
attach several monitors within easy reach
to the operator. Two auxiliary electrical
circuits (one 3-pin ag plug and one
12-volt power outlet) provide power.
MT800B
Both standard and optional lighting
packages provide the best lighting in the
industry. The deluxe lighting package
adds three exterior courtesy lights and
four additional rear roof lights. The
NightbreakerTM light option features four
HID lights (two in the front and two in the
rear) for excellent visibility of not only
what is in front, but more importantly, of
the huge implements these powerful
tractors are pulling. The rear lights easily
adjust for the operator to see exactly
what needs to be seen.
A second DIN radio slot is built into the
headliner and pre-wired for installing a
communications radio or GPS receiver.
The Power PackTM features two additional
3-pin connectors, a terminal strip and
rocker switches to attach and control
multiple electronic options.

drawbar. In the “manual” mode, the
operator can use the controlled drawbar
feature to adjust the drawbar for proper
position on sidehills or “trim” the draft of
offset implements. The “float” mode can
be used to dampen the movement of the
drawbar’s swing from left to right by
selecting the appropriate percentage for
the draft load of the implement.

Raising The Power
Standards
The hydraulic system in the MT800B
Series tractors delivers superior
performance to meet today’s demanding
requirements. With 166 litre/min
standard and 223 litre/min optional flow
capacity, these machines not only handle
today’s requirements, but can also deal
with the increasing demands for higher
capacity as implements demand more
and more hydraulic flow.
The hydraulic system has four remote
hydraulic valves as standard and options
for five or six. The system shares a
common sump that also provides
lubrication for the PTO, transmission,
brakes and differential, supplies pilot
control oil for the steering, transmission
and PTO, and provides system oil for the
MT800B
implement and steering hydraulic
systems. The steering, transmission and
implement hydraulic systems each have
their own separate filtration system to
protect the pumps, valves and motors
from contamination. An integrated
cooling system keeps all this oil running
at optimum temperature.
The Challenger-exclusive Load-
Independent Flow Division (LIFD)
maintains proportional oil flow to all
circuits when the system is operating at
full capacity. The LIFD delivers non-stop
operation even when hydraulics are
demanding combined flow in excess of
total pump capacity. In contrast to all
competitive hydraulic systems that can’t
proportion their flow to keep all the
circuits operating properly when pump
capacity is exceeded, the MT800B’s
system keeps all circuits functioning
proportionally at all times.
Remote hydraulics are precisely
controlled through the IntellitronicsTM
network. You can adjust flow and set
time detents for each circuit to precisely
adjust individual valve operations.

The track gauge width is adjustable
from 2286 mm to 2601 mm (EU) or
3251 mm (non-EU countries), without
detensioning the belt, in about two
hours. Simply loosen the hardbar
bearing caps and raise the tractor
chassis. Loosen the collet bolts and
with the gauge adjustment tool,
adjust the gauge to the desired
width. Re-torque the bolts, lower the
tractor to the ground and you’re
ready to go. Three belt widths
ranging from 699 mm to 914 mm

For faster, precision farming, the optional
Auto-GuideTM satellite navigation system
uses cutting-edge GPS technology to
guide your implement through your fields
at higher rates of speed and accuracy.
This is especially valuable for more
accurate operation at night or in low
visibility conditions.
The Auto-GuideTM system steers the
tractor, without operator input, to make
parallel swaths for improved efficiency
and reduced operator fatigue. The
system is available with optional
upgrades that provide various accuracy
levels depending on operation.
The GPS receiver also transfers location
information to variable
rate controllers on the implement via the
industry-standard ISO11783 network.
The Auto-GuideTM system is operated and
monitored on the TMC screen.
A status indicator on the dash panel
notifies the operator when the Auto-
GuideTM system is ready to control the
primary steering. The system disengages
automatically when the operator resumes
steering the tractor.

The Auto-GuideTM system is fully

integrated into the IntellitronicsTM network.
