Introduction
Were all Indians now. --Will Rogers (1935) It was prophesied by the Indians. Now it is proven by New Biology: Mother Earth and all her life forms are one. It is time for the peoples of Earth to embrace this truthand each other.
Long ago, Chief Seattle prophesied that Earth and her children will become very sick, and when this happens, Rainbow Warriors will appear to restore health. Drawing upon Native American wisdom, personal revelation and leading edge biology, I endeavor to tell the story of Homo sapiens in a way its never been told before. The story of mankind, I believe, is NOT the story told by the religions. It is the story of a grand quest for greater and greater truth, not the story of disobedience to God and subsequent decline toward destruction. A great truth I learned about ten years ago is that a proof of the Gaia hypothesis exists. Our planet is a singular and sentient organism. What is mankind in relation to Gaia? Humans are components of the innervation (nervous) system of the planet. As the immune system is part of the innervation system, they may also be described as the immune cells of the planet. The immune cell has a unique missionto know the unknown. As a necessary part of the great quest, mankind had to split itself into two partsaboriginal and separatist. The job
7
of the aboriginals was to keep, and to live, the original wisdom. The job of the separatists, who separated themselves from the ancient wisdom, was to go forth and explore the unknown. In the end times, if they end right, the two major groups will come together again, as brothers and sisters, and share all they have learned. This is the Reunion of the Peoples. * * * This book uses a Native American styling. Genetically, I am not an Indian. Philosophically, I am. I am what is called a Seton Indian, a white guy who follows Ernest Thompson Seton in the belief that the traditional Native American vision of life is far more wholesome than the standard white vision. Indeed, my father and mother were among the original Seton Indians. Not long ago, I was delighted to hear a traditional Mohawk friend say he regarded Seton Indians as real Indians. So there you have it. Im a real Indian after all. Its November 17th, 2004. The cowboys are in the White House, and all of us Indians are in big trouble. The Great White Cowboy doesnt care a whit for protection of the environment, and if you dont believe me, read Robert F. Kennedy Jr.s new book, Crimes Against Nature. Why is important to nurture Mother Nature? Because she is our greater self. The proof of the Gaia hypothesis is in, and youll be reading about it in this book. Mother Earth is a singular and a sentient organism. (Some of the Gaia advocates disagree with the singular and sentient concept, but dont worry theyll learn in due course.) You protect your own body, dont you? You dont allow companies to come in and mine the calcium out of your bones. You dont shovel highly toxic substances into your belly. You dont allow the blood cartel to pump all the blood out of your body! Mother deserves the same respect and care.
8
Its purification time! The Hour has come round at last, as the Hopi elders say. Were all in for changes with a capital C, and some of us are in for big trouble the users and abusers of Mother Earth. Would you allow parasites to crawl all over your skin? Seems to me Mother has been very patient up till now, but that patience is about to end. In the times of change, we Indians have a few things in our favor. As mentioned, we now know, for sure, that Mother Earth is singular and sentient. That knowledge will condition, as the psychologists say, a far more respectful attitude toward nature on the part of many, if not most, of her children. Also in our favor is the growing realization on the part of all those outside the various chosen people fundamentalisms that planetary flourishing, perhaps even survival, depends upon mankinds ability to protect ethnic diversity as well as bio-diversity. Each ethnic group, as the Hopi would say, is one of the spots on a fawn. A spots mission is not to rub out all the other spots, but to support, from its particular location, the life of the fawn, the whole organism. Both bio-diversity and ethnic diversity are under great attack these days, especially by international corporations seeking to monopolize the natural resources of the world. The native protectors of these resources are often re-located, or eliminated, as part of the process. Thanks for caring. Have a great read!

Thomas Banyancya
It was March 1999. About forty people gathered at the Sapa Dawn center in Yelm, Washington, to participate in a memorial service for Thomas Banyancya, the Hopi messenger of peace. I had met Thomas on only four occasions during the nineties, but, like most others who met him, I felt he was a life-long friend. As I sat waiting for the ceremony to begin, my mind drifted off to the time I last saw him alive. June, 1998 It had been raining for days, but as we gathered around a big fire to celebrate Thomas birthday (June 2), the heavy rain let up and a mother rain blessed us. Several birds perched singing in a nearby tree, and that seemed to provide Thomas with a cue. He motioned us to sit, and then he began to speak. Many years ago, he said, I went to Los Alamos with a few friends. You maybe know Los Alamos as the place where they made the atom bomb. He looked at us solemnly for a moment, then continued. Before they were making bombs there, the land was Indian land. Sacred to the Indians. Well, I thought the land might need some healing, and so we went there. I found a good place near the top of a hill and started building our fire. Right away, a government man showed up. Hey, he said, you cant build a fire there! I told him what we want to do, to have a little talk with the land and see if we could heal it. He let us do our ceremony, but no fire! It was a little strange to me. Here was
13
a person who was maybe making fires that could destroy all the world, and he wasnt going to let us have our little healing fire! Pretty soon, Thomas said softly, some birds came to watch us. Just like the birds here are doing. And some small animals came along, too. The government man stood nearby. He was watching, too. Then, right out of the blue, there were two eagles flying over us and then, there were two more eagles! He lifted an arm to the skies. I glanced toward the government man and saw he was looking up. Pretty soon, along came four more eagles!and so there were eight altogether. Even I was impressed! Ive seen the birds and animals come to our ceremonies before, but Id never seen eight eagles show up. When we finished our ceremony and were getting ready to leave, the government man came over to me and shook my hand. And do you know what? There were tears in the eyes of this man. March, 1999. Many spoke about Thomas and his life. All had tears in their eyes. I learned much about my friend. Before becoming the Hopi peace messenger, Thomas had undergone a trial by fire. During the Second World War, he declared himself a conscientious objector and spent many years in prison. After the war, he began the work that was to consume the rest of his lifebringing the Hopi prophecies to the attention of mankind. The prophecies foretold the creation of the United Nations and said that a messenger of the Hopi must knock on the doors of this house of mica four times, and ask for the
14
opportunity to share the Hopi wisdom with the assembled representatives of mankind. If the messenger was given the opportunity, the prophecies said, then the long-predicted purification of the planet would not be too hard. If the messenger was denied, however, the purification would be harsh. Thomas followed the instructions of the elders and knocked on the doors of the United Nations four times. Four times he was refused. Never unwilling to walk an extra mile to achieve a goal he desired, Thomas knocked on the doors of the United Nations a fifth time. This time, he was granted an opportunity to speak, though not to the whole assembly.

pipe, the bowl of which was fashioned out of red stone. On the stem of the pipe was a carving of a buffalo figure, and twelve Eagle feathers. Then from the satchel she brought forth a stone inscribed with seven rings, one ring for each of seven rites in which the pipe would be used. As she was leaving, Ptesan Win told the Lakota that after four ages had passed, she would return. She began walking toward the horizon. After going a short distance, she kneeled down and turned into a red buffalo. After another short distance, she kneeled down and turned into a brown buffalo. Then, after walking another short distance, she lay in the dust and rolled over. When she arose, she was a white buffalo calf. *** White Buffalo Calf Woman came long ago to teach us that what seems to be just material is in fact spiritual. Ptesan Win taught some very simple ways by which people can show they know and respect the divinity of nature. Divinity cannot be embraced, or even touched, by greedy human hands. Thus it was that the buffalo hunter who reached out in lust to touch Ptesan Win was destroyed.

Darwinism was invented in the middle of the nineteenth century, and it became the orthodox science of evolution in a matter of twenty years. It is still the orthodoxy, believe it or not. Today, the high priest of the orthodoxy is Richard Dawkins. What Dawkins tells people is that our bodies are war machines run by the genes, genes struggling for domination. From Darwinism came Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is the basis for the various socialismsnational, international, and global. Socialism is short for social organism. The social organism is the big important thing, the socialists believe, and individuals must be controlled by strong governments, for individuals are, as Darwin said, nothing but beasts. These governments must be guided by scientists. In our time, scientists are the priests. The present name for Darwinism is "neo-Darwinism." Neo-Darwinism says that all human behavior, including the highest forms of consciousness, comes from the genes. In order to create a peaceful world, the neo-Darwinists says, we need to genetically engineer a new peaceful species. The fourth age, the Age of the Darwinisms, is just about over. The beginning of the end was the coming of the New Physics. The old physics is separatist. It separates space and time, energy and matter, object and observer. The New Physics is holistic. It proves the truth of the aboriginal wisdom ... our world is a holistic reality, a beautiful basket woven of energy, light and thought. ***
20
The birth of the white buffalo calf marked the end of the fourth age. Whats coming next? Floyd Hand, a spiritual leader from Pine Ridge, says there is a period of purification that is beginning nowa period that will end with the unification of the nations. I believe this is a true understanding. The unification will be speeded up when more people come to know the scientific truth that the planet is one organism, a very big version of the biological cell, and that everything biological is part of the nervous system of the planet. Let August 20th be forever a day of great celebration, signifying the dawn of enlightenment. On this day in 1994, the Black Road came to an end ... and the Red Road began.

The word science means simply knowingknowing as opposed to guessing. Any and all conclusions based on close observation of nature over a period of time, can be considered scientific. The science of the Hopis goes back to very ancient times, and its the job of the Hopi elders to preserve that science and, when the timing is right, to share it. A peoples science is a very important thing. Science is meant to help people. The ancient Hopi science recalls the appearance of many comets in our solar system and the effects of those comets on earth life. The blue ones, the Hopi say, are the really bad ones. They bring the devil winds. *** Comets are just dirty snowballs, the white scientists say. They cannot have much effect on Earth unless they hit directly. There is only one white scientist who knows and speaks the truth about comets. Great though he is, he is not considered an elder by the whites. He is an out-cast. Cast out of his profession and from NASA. His name is James M. McCanney. NASA says the sun is electrically neutral. McCanney says the solar system is a big battery, the sun being the negative anode. The positive anode is way out beyond Pluto, in clouds of ionized particles and gases. McCanney says that when comets come into the solar system, they begin to interact with the sun, which he calls a solar capacitor. The sun, McCanney writes, produces thousands of times more energy in the form of electrical
24
energy as it does in the form of light energy. The Earth, he says, is buffered from this by its large magnetic field. Under certain circumstances, McCanney says, a comet intruder can cause a severe disruption of the Earths magnetic field, and the effects could be catastrophic. Right at this time a very large intruder is coming into the solar system, he says. How does he know? The solar cycle should have peaked in 2000, but instead, solar activity has continued to increase. The sun, he says, looks like a giant popcorn maker. NASA and all the astrophysicists, except McCanney, are being very silent about this intruder. NASA, McCanney says, is under strict orders not to release any information that could alarm the public. McCanney says the big intruder, which could be the Planet X, is entering the solar system from the bottom. In other words, if the South Pole was a pointing finger, it would be pointing at the intruder. This is very interesting to me, as in 1969, Thomas Banyancya quoted Maasauu, the Great Spirit of the Hopi, as saying: Your land will be divided and shall be cut up four times, each cut smaller that the others. From the South a power will rise to come and help when the time comes. So which do you prefer?Indian science or NASA science? Maybe NASA stands for No real Astrophysics Science Allowed. This time looks to me like a good time for preparing for the devil winds that could be coming. It is not a good time for going on the warpath.

Earth on multiple occasions as it nestled into its current orbit. (53) Old paradigmers: The Sun is electrically neutral and is not affected by external conditions, such as the appearance of a comet. Energetic effects are strictly the result of magnetic effects, i.e., solar domestic violence. McCanney: The Sun has a net negative charge as it continually ejects large composite streamers of primarily protons in the solar wind. This builds up and sustains a solar capacitor with the positive anode far beyond the orbit of Pluto, where there is a large ionized cloud of dust and gases. This capacitor is discharged by the asteroids and larger comet nuclei that enter the solar system. This capacitor is what powers and controls the electrical nature of the solar system. Magnetic effects are secondary effects of the electrical plasma currents that flow as a result of this power source. (54) Underline the following: The Sun produces thousands of time more energy in the form of electrical energy as it does in the form of light energy, but Earth is buffered from this by its large magnetic field. (54)
Comets
Earth is buffered by its large magnetic field. We only notice changes here when the local electric field and current flows are altered either by solar flares or large comets passing near by. (54) Comets are no danger to Earth, according to conventional astrophysicists, who adhere to the theory (originated by Fred Whipple) that comets are just large dirty snowballs.
29
These snowballs melt (sublimate) when near the Sun, the Whipple-ites assure us, and the solar wind sweeps their tails out away from the Sun. Comets are getting smaller and go away eventually or leave a small asteroid in its orbit. NASA states that only if one of these tiny [asteroidal] nuclei hits Earth directly can it harm Earth. (52) According to McCanneys Plasma Discharge Comet Model, comets are asteroidal or larger rocky objects, which ignite a complex electrical discharge of the Solar Capacitor when they enter the Suns electrical region . Comets are drawing in the tail material and therefore are getting larger as they move on their orbits in the solar system. (52) Although most comets are small, some can be large or even of planetary size, and if so, can cause extreme damage to the existing planets and moons as they work their way into their eventual stable [solar] orbits. They do not have to directly hit an existing planet to cause damage, in fact extreme levels of danger can be caused by a myriad of effects by action at a distance. (52) What are some examples of extreme effects? The most probable effect of the passage of a very large comet though our solar system would be severe disruption of the Earths magnetic field/shield. The key to understanding is that the Suns capacitor stores unimaginable amounts of static electric charge and energy. When a comet or series of planets, moons and comets become involved, then the level of power released from the capacitor increases and that power usually is passed along the paths that include these planetary objects. (61) In addition to the electro-magnetic plasma effects, there are the physical or what we might call the Newtonian gravitational effects. These would involve the alterations of orbits due to gravity of one object working on another, or if two massive planetary sized objects interact at close range, the
30
tidal waves can be set up on the outer structures of these planetary mantles. These effects can range from small ocean tides such as our Moon causes every day, to massive major Earth altering effects such as mountain building, earthquakes or creation and eruption of volcanoes. (61-62)
from the passing comet with burning naphtha pouring in. (64) Among other potential effects: There is only one process that has all the factors sufficient to cause a shift or rotation of the spin axis of Earths mantle, and that is a gravitational wave set up by a passing large comet. (65)
the next close encounter with a comet, our existence, as a species, on Earth, will remain very tenuous.

thought that no-one else had ever had. The thought hit him like a lightning bolt. It hit him so hard he had to sit down. "Hey, what's the matter, Yo-Soy-Koda?" his friends asked. Yo-Soy-Koda went into a trance. After a while, he came out of the trance and stood up, looking very serious. He looked at his friends, and then gave a little speech. "Just now, the Great Spirit had a thing to say to me. And I don't know what to make of it." "What did Great Spirit say?" his friends asked. "Great Spirit said we're all having a wonderful time here and that's great, but we humans aren't getting anywhere. We're just going in circles." "What's wrong with going in circles?" his friends asked. "Spirit says we're on a great journey, and the journey doesn't end until we know everything there is to know." "But don't we already know everything there is to know?" the friends asked. "I asked Spirit that same question," Yo-Soy-Koda said. "Spirit said that if we knew everything there was to know, then we would be the Great Spirit." That stopped his friends. They didn't know what to say to that. All they knew was that something big was going on. But they didn't know what it was. "Well, what now, Yo-SoyKoda? What are we supposed to do now?" Yo-Soy-Koda didn't know the answer, and so he went to the top of a great hill, to be close to the Great Spirit. He came down a few days later. His friends were waiting for him. They were a little nervous. Well? they asked, What did the Great Spirit say? Yo-Soy-Koda didn't answer right away. He was great at creating suspense. He merely looked around and scowled at his friends. After a good meal, though, he got to laughing.
38
Everyone thought he was crazy. When he stood to give another speech, everything went still. Even the insects in the woods. Everyone wanted to hear what it was that the Great Spirit had said to Yo-Soy-Koda. "Brothers and sisters," Yo-Soy-Koda said, "my name is Yo-Soy-Koda." "We know who you are, Yo-Soy-Koda," his friends said. "Get on with it." "What the Great Spirit says," Yo-Soy-Koda said, "is that in order for us to find our way we must lose our way." "That doesn't make any sense," his friends said. "Spirit says there is a broad path that runs along the river, and all the humans are running back and forth on this path. There's another path, Spirit says, a path that runs along the stars, and way out beyond the stars, into the Unknown." Yo-Soy-Koda grew very silent. He looked as if he was gazing into the Unknown. "Yo-Soy-Koda," the friends asked, "why would anyone want to go beyond the stars and into this Unknown you're talking about?" Yo-Soy-Koda looked this way and that, and then he said, very quietly, "Because that is where the Great Spirit wants us to go." "Why does Great Spirit want us to go there?" Yo-Soy-Koda paused for a minute. And then he answered the question in this way: "Why does Great Spirit want us to go there?" Everyone went to sleep very confused that night. Many people had strange dreams. News traveled fast. In a couple of weeks, just about half the people on Turtle Island arrived at the village of YoSoy-Koda. Everyone wanted to know what was going on. Yo-Soy-Koda called a council of the wisest persons he could
39
find, and the council met for many weeks. At long last, a decision was reached. All eyes were on Yo-Soy-Koda as he jumped up on a great rock and spoke to the people. "Listen, brothers and sisters." "We're listening." "We've looked at the question this way and that. A hundred ways. We talked and we talked ...." "Tell us!" the people shouted. "What is the meaning of the words of the Great Spirit?" "Well, it's like this," Yo-Soy-Koda replied, we need some volunteers." "Volunteers for what?!" "We need some people who are willing to forget everything they know." "But why?!" "So they can learn new things," Yo-Soy-Koda said. "Things that just wouldn't occur to usbecause we're perfectly happy with what we know and how we know it. The only way we can learn about the path to the stars is if some of us get themselves lost, and forget about the good old path along the river we all know and love." It took a lot of talking, but after a week or so, Yo-SoyKoda had a dozen men and women who were willing to forget all they knew. "Look, Yo-Soy-Koda," they said, "we'll do this thing for you. We'll forget everything we know. But if we ever get in real trouble because we don't know anything, then we expect you'll help us out." Yo-Soy-Koda agreed to do this. And he kept his word. He kept it when in later times he went with Hiawatha among
40
the peoples of the Eastern Gate and taught them the way of peace. But that's another story. It wasn't so easy for the volunteers to forget everything they knew. After a time, Yo-Soy-Koda had to have another talk with the Great Spirit. The Great Spirit gave him some advice. This is what he told Yo-Soy-Koda: "To help the volunteers forget they're the children of Mother Earth, I'm going to take away the earth color from their skins. I'll make their skin white like clouds, or maybe sort of pink. And I'll make their eyes blue like the sky. And, of course, they'll have to go awayfar from their people on Turtle Island." There was a big party when it came time to say goodbye. Yo-Soy-Koda made a big speech. "The Great Spirit told me our brother and sister volunteers are going to a new land. This land will be called Europe. There, in Europe, they'll experience a lot of change." Yo-Soy-Koda didn't tell them that they'd turn white. "They'll be thinking up new things, things that would never occur to us because we're very grounded, we're very sane." Everyone laughed. "A lot of things they think up," he said, will be really stupid. Stuff a Turtle Islander couldn't ever imagine, not if he stood on his head for ten years. But among the thousands of new things our relatives in Europe come up with, a few things will be really worthwhile. These few things will be the things that will teach us the path to the stars ... and the path beyond the stars into the great Unknown."
The next morning, the volunteers left Turtle Island in great canoes. There were three of these canoes, each formed by lashing together seven ordinary canoes. That was Yo-SoyKoda's idea.
41
Seven or eight volunteers decided at the last minute not to go, but Yo-Soy-Koda made them go anyway. The volunteers left from a place that is now called Asbury Park, New Jersey. "One day, their descendants will return to Turtle Island," Yo-Soy-Koda said. "I wonder what new and interesting things they'll bring back from Europe."
42
tribe is like any animal, or plant. If it is intent on protecting itself all the time, then it doesnt grow. All its life force goes into protection. There is a new technology in agriculture which proves this point. The farmers find out the frequency of what it is theyre growing, tomatoes for instance. Everything alive has a unique frequency. Then the farmers play this frequency to the field of tomatoesthrough speakers. As a result, the tomatoes read the outside environment as friendly and they put all their energy into growth. Yo-Soy-Koda explained this simple fact of life to the people who had gathered at Onondaga. So impressed were they by the wisdom of Yo-Soy-Koda and the power of the Huron chief Hiawatha, they did as the teachers told them. They uprooted a very big tree, and then threw all their weapons into the hole. Then they put the tree back and had a big party. The ceremony is called the white roots of peace because the roots had seen daylight. The people, too. They had seen the light. Uprooting a great tree and then putting it back coveys the idea that we humans can give our species a new basis, a peaceable philosophy. On that day of new beginnings, all agreed that their nations would be part of a greater nation, the Iroquois Confederacy. Also, they agreed to resolve whatever problems they had without recourse to war. They banned war among themselves. The Iroquois Confederacy was the first United Nations. ***
44
After the American Revolution, the Americans set up a government of their own, under The Articles of Confederation. It was like the Iroquois Confederacy. In 1789, they set up a new system. Patrick Henry, one of their great sages, did not agree with the new set-up. He was afraid the greater concentration of power in the central government would lead to tyranny. Maybe he was right.

nature. One thing we can be sure about is that God created nature. Nobody disputes that. Even the Bible says it ... 'God created the heaven and the earth.' So if we study not the words of the Maker but the works of the Maker, then maybe we can find out more about the Maker. People who believed this way were called Deists. Some Deists were Christian. Others had a lot of doubts about Christianity and decided to just be honest, like the Indians, and say only what they see. So they said, "We see nature. We agree there was something that made nature. Let's call that something the Creator. Let's see if we can find out something about the Creator by studying the creation." There are a lot of Christians who believe that the United States was founded on the principles of Christianity. In fact, the big founders were Deists. Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Paine. When Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, what he said was "according to the laws of nature and nature's God." Notice those words. "Nature and nature's God." He wasn't talking about the Bible God. The fact is that among the countries born from Mother Europe, the United States was the most divine. It was most divine because it was most allowing of differences in religious belief. If the Creator really believed all the Catholics were right and all the Protestants wrong, do you think there would be any Protestants around today? No. The Creator, thank God, doesn't think like man. Let's get back to the subject of whites lying. Now the whites who are raised according to the Bible the first thing they're asked to do is lie. They've got to say they believe in God and Christ and angels and devils, when in fact they haven't seen them. Now if you start out a kid by making him believe lying is the truth, do you think that kid is going to grow up to be a truth-sayer or a liar? As the sapling is bent, so grows the tree.
48
The Christians can be really amazing. They can believe two opposite things at the same time. They can believe that following the example of Christ, the great peacemaker, is the way to God. Turn the other cheek. Then at the same time, they believe that going on the warpath is following the will of God. In the Northwest I see many signs nailed on trees. The signs say "Christ Died For Your Sins." Unless I'm very misinformed, the Bible says Christ didn't die. Well, what's the truth? Did he die? Or didn't he die? I asked a Christian friend about this. "Both," he said. "Christ died and then he was resurrected." In other words, Christs death was just a temporary death. Now what is death if it isnt permanent? Its not death. Its near death maybe, but not death. Maybe the message that should be nailed on the trees is, Christ Had a Near-Death Experience for Your Sins.

Holy War
Every once in awhile, a very great while God sends a Teacher to Earth To try to explain to us humans that We are all gods-in-the-works The Teacher does his best, people are impressed But the priests cry Heretic! And search high and low for all the shit That can make their charges stick! Ah so!thats the way it goes! Holy War war against the Truth Holy War war against the Holy Holy War! Jihad! Holy War! O but after the Teacher is done away with And all his true disciples are slain The priests take over the operation And preach their lies in his name And if anyone says Hey, wait a minute! The priests cry Infidel! And then they arrange his speedy trip to The fires of Eternal Hell! Ah so!that is the way it goes! Holy War war against the Truth Holy War war against the Holy Holy War! Jihad! Holy War!

The French Revolution taught the bluebloods they were losing control. People no longer believed that God had made the bluebloods rulers of the common people. The bluebloods saw that the new science was very dangerous. Science and Deism. These were similar ideas. Science was saying, "To find the truth, start with the facts." Deism was saying, "Nature is the real bible. If you want to find God, start with nature." After the revolution in France, a great scientist by the name of Lamarck invented biology and evolution. Nature is a wise and wonderful teacher, Lamarck said, because the power and word of God dwell within nature. This really upset the bluebloods. For a long time, the bluebloods had bamboozled the people by convincing them that the priests were the only authorized representatives of God. Now Lamarck and others were telling people that the word of God is in nature, not in the mouths of the priests. The bluebloods knew they had to do something about the threat of science and Deism. They knew that if they were to maintain their control, their positions and their castles, they had to control science ... they had to say what was the truth of life and what was not. When Darwinism came along in 1859, the bluebloods loved it. This was the answer to their dreama science vision that justified them in being the way they were. In the Darwin vision, the bluebloods are on top because they deserve to be on top ... they are the big winners in the struggle for existence. And what is nature in Darwinism? A dangerous place, a jungle red in tooth and claw. There is no God in existence, there is only combatwinning and losing. The Deists saw the common people as more divine because they are closer to nature. The opposite is true, the Darwinists said. Because the common people are closer to
54
nature, theyre like beasts. In fact, they are beasts and need to be caged. The bluebloods were quick to convince the world "Darwinism is the Truth of existence!" This was not a difficult thing to do, for the people believed the Royal Society was a true science society. When the Royal Society said "Yes, Darwinism is the Truth we have been waiting for so long," the people went along- first just a few, and then the masses. In fact, the Royal Society is what its name says it isan agent of the Crown, the biggest blueblood of all. Practically overnight, the bluebloods switched from saying "The Bible is the one and only truth of existence and what it says is obey your betters" to saying "Darwinism is the one and only truth of existence and what it says is that we are your betters ... and you better obey us!" It's only today that the common people in Western civilization are waking up and seeing what's what. Of course most of them want to go right back to sleep! "What can I do about it? I'm only one individual," they say. "You can't fight City Hall." That attitude is just the old programming of the priests and the pseudo-scientists, who are paid a lot of money to convince the common people that they are a degenerate form of life, incapable of making wise decisions. Do what's good for you, and put your life in the hands of the experts ... us." The first and most important step in getting back what's yours, control of your destiny, is not protesting in the streets ... Its simply opening your eyes and seeing through those eyes. When the common people start looking at life through their own eyes, rather than the eyes of the blueblood scientists, they will begin to see the world that Lamarck once saw, the
55
world that the aboriginals see ... a playful and peaceable kingdom.

At the completion of the Gulf War, Major Rokke says, when we came back to the United States in the fall of 1991, we had a total casualty count of 760: 294 dead, a little over 400 wounded or ill. But the casualty rate now for Gulf War veterans is approximately 30 percent. Of those stationed in the theater, including after the conflict, 221,000 have been awarded disability, according to a Veterans Affairs report issued September 10, 2002. Many of the US casualties died as a direct result of uranium munitions friendly fire. More than 100 American soldiers were exposed to DU [depleted uranium] in friendly fire accidents, plus untold numbers of soldiers who climbed on and entered tanks that had been hit with DU, taking photos and gathering souvenirs to take home. They didnt know about the hazards. DU is an extremely effective weapon. Each tank round is 10 pounds of solid uranium-238 contaminated with plutonium, neptunium, americium. It is pyrophoric, generating intense heat on impact, penetrating a tank because of the heavy weight of its metal. When uranium munitions hit, its like a firestorm inside any vehicle or structure, and so we saw tremendous burns, tremendous injuries. It was devastating. Did the big brass make sure the soldiers knew about the hazards or uranium munitions? As director of the Depleted Uranium Project, I developed a 40-hour block of training. All that curriculum has been shelved. They turned what I wrote into a 20-minute program thats full of distortions. In one of her songs, Buffy Sainte-Marie says that uranium burns a hole into forever. Major Rokke agrees: Its a crime against humanity to use uranium munitions in a war, and its devastating to ignore the consequences of war. These consequences last for eternity. The half life of uranium

238 is 4.5 billion years. And we left over 320 tons all over the place in Iraq. We have also left tons of radioactive waste at uranium mining sites in and near Indian lands. As a result, says Thomas, there is much sickness and disease among the Indians living nearby, and more and more babies are being born deformed. Our prophecies tell of white people, Thomas has said. They were once our brothers who went away to the East. They learned all about inventions there. They were supposed to come back here with the inventions and help us to a better life. They would complete our spiritual circle. But, instead of bringing the symbol of a circle, they brought the symbol of a cross. The circle brings people together, the cross sets them apart. The cross is a divider. And thats what they want to do to us Indian people. They want to hang uson a cross of uranium!

known, and said, that Earth is a great individual. Mother Earth we call her. *** The key to creating a peaceful world is not, as Darwinists claim, genetic engineering. It is helping peoples understand the truththat the planet is in fact a great individual, a wonderful mother. We are all her children. When this understanding is accepted, then people will not be so ready to go to war. Its easy to kill enemies, but not so easy to kill cousins. *** Today, some people are calling Earth Gaia. Others think Terra Nova would be a great name. If I were asked to name the planet, I would prefer to call her by the old name Mother Earth. But perhaps she has a name for herself. Maybe it's time we asked her ... "What's your name?" I would not be surprised to learn that Mother has a name for herself she much prefers to Gaia. Perhaps it's Ptesan Win ... White Buffalo Calf Woman.

I was made to see the universe as a whole and its simple principle of creation as one unit, repeated over and over, endlessly and without variation . Walter Russell
I have been trying to think of the Earth as a kind of organism, but it is no go. I cannot think of it this way. It is too big, too complex, with too many working parts lacking visible connections. The other night, driving through a hilly, wooded part of southern New England, I wondered about this. If not an organism, what is it like, what is it most like? Then it came to me: it is most like a single cell. Lewis Thomas (1974)
The planet Earth is a single organism. This is the remarkable thesis of GaiaA New Look at Life on Earth, published by British scientist James E. Lovelock in 1979. Until recently, this thesis was known as the Gaia hypothesis. At present, it is called the Gaia theory. Journeys into space, Lovelock writes in Gaia, did more than present the Earth in a new perspective. They also sent back information about its atmosphere and surface which provided a new insight into the interactions between the living
65
and the inorganic parts of the planet. From this has arisen the hypothesis, the model, in which Earths living matter, air, oceans, and land surface form a complex system which can be seen as single organism . (Lovelock, x) Lovelock called this hypothetical single organism Gaia. The concept of Mother Earth or, as the Greeks called her long ago, Gaia, has been widely held throughout history and has been the basis of a belief which still co-exists with the great religions. (Lovelock, x) The birth of Lovelocks Gaia hypothesis was applauded by certain Native American whites-watchers and kindred souls, but establishment biologists condemned it. Gaia was condemned as teleological [implying purpose] by my peers and the journals, Nature and Science, would not publish papers on the subject. (Lovelock, vii) To the condemnation of his peers Lovelock added a stopper of his own: Ancient belief and modern knowledge have fused in the awe with which astronauts with their own eyes and we by indirect vision have seen the Earth revealed in all its shining beauty against the deep darkness of space. Yet this feeling, however strong, does not prove that Mother Earth lives. Like a religious belief, it [the Gaia hypothesis] is untestable and therefore incapable in its own context of further rationalization. (Lovelock, ix) Is Lovelock correct in his belief that the Gaia hypothesis cannot be proven? At the time he stated this belief, no theoretical basis for proving the hypothesis was readily apparent. Since that time, several theoretical bases have emerged, including the holographic theory of universe, and fractal geometry and mathematics.
66
67
Fractal mathematics made possible the art of computer modeling. It also made possible the new science called Chaos theory. In Greek mythology, the goddess Gaia was born out of Chaos. Could it be that the proof the Gaia hypothesis will emerge out of Chaos theory?
In a 1993 U.S. News & World Report article, science writer William Allman concludes: The bodys overall structure bears the signature of the chaotic processes that shape it right down to the DNA molecule that serves as its genetic blueprint. The fractal nature of DNA appears to play a role in its ability to pass on biological information that controls development of the various parts of the body. Because fractals represent a midway point between randomness and predictability, DNAs fractal structure may represent a compromise between encoding the maximum amount of information, while still being extremely resilient to damage. (Allman, 84-85)
Yes, he replied. Fractal theory offers a proof of the Gaia hypothesis. If the planet is a fractal of the single cell, then it must be a single living organism. Fractals differ only in size and complexity. The planet is a very complex version of the single cell. What to call the bio-fractal set that includes the single cell, the human being, and Earth itself? My suggestion is: the Gaia set.

Joseph Brant
For many hundreds of years, the Six Nations stood at the Eastern Gate. The Six Nations is also called the "Iroquois Confederacy." It was started many hundreds of years ago by two great chiefsHiawatha and Yo-Soy-Koda. Long before the Europeans came to Turtle Island, Hiawatha and Yo-Soy-Koda were telling the red men to get ready ... "Your brothers and sisters with white skin will be arriving any century now, and they're going to need a lot of education. Better get your act together." The Confederacy was the ally of the British, and if the British didn't have this ally, today New England would probably be "New France." The last war chief of the Six Nations was Joseph Brant. Joseph was much trusted by the British in the days before the Revolution. Joseph was smart. He pretended he wanted to study the Bible, and the British were happy to send him to England to learn all about it. What he really wanted was to find out was how to make gunpowder! Joseph knew what was in the hearts of the whites, and he believed the red peoples would be rubbed out if they didn't find a way to make their own gunpowder. He believed the only way to stop the whitesthe termite peoplefrom eating up all Turtle Island was to create a strong nation of red nations in the place now called Ohio and Indiana.
71
It was not his destiny to fulfill this dream. In London, he studied the making of gunpowder as best he could. He came to the sad conclusion that the Indians didn't have all the stuff to make it. The American Revolution split the Six Nations. Joseph fought with the Red Coats. He was a great chief. If the British had asked Joseph to lead their war party, he would have won the war for them! They didn't do this, however. They were too stupid, too blinded by all their medals. The Oneida chief Running Moose loved Joseph, but could not follow him. The old teachings were close to his heart. He believed it was the mission of the Six Nations to help the termite people to become real human beings. Many thought he was a ridiculous old man. His head is in the clouds, they thought. "You can't teach the white man anything!as everyone knows." There came a time, however, when the idea that the whites could be educated didn't seem quite so ridiculous. The whites had a great sachem called Franklin. In the time of the writing of the Constitution, Running Moose and other Confederacy leaders were called upon to give their advice. Running Moose felt very happy, for this was the first proof he had that the termites were willing to learn! At the present time, Joseph wears a ghost-shirt [a white body] and lives a simple life not far from the old castles of the Mohawk. There is great grief in his heart. The man who was Joseph feels that he failed his people. He thinks that he alone could have stopped the westward march of the whiteshad he moved more quickly. Listen, Joseph ... your dream was great, the dream of a warrior, but it was not as great as the dream of Hiawatha and Yo-Soy-Koda. Do not be in anguish any longer, brother. The greater dream is about to be realized.

antsthe giver of orderis instinct. Every ant knows just what to do. In the Your Rope system of government, however, the monarch is the ruler and what he says goes, even if what he says is real stupid. This is very far from natural government. The way of the Six Nations was very close to the natural way, and that is why Ben Franklin was interested in it. The government of the Six Nations was a government of the people, by the people, for the people. This is the main thing Ben learned from us. The great powerthe sovereigntyis something that belongs to all the people and not just the big chief or a few powerful people. What Ben Franklin didn't learn was the importance of women in our culture. The Iroquois never forgot the teachings of the cell. The most important thing in the life of an organism, whether a cell or a nation, is the source of new life. So it was that in the Iroquois system, the women had the final say. Women decided who would be the political and religious leaders. Also, the women got rid of any leader who didnt serve the best interests of the people. If they didn't like what a leader was doing, they would give him three warnings to change his ways. If he failed to respond, the leader was too dumb to remain part of the tribe. He was stripped of power and made an outcast. What good is a man who refuses to listen to the voice of his people? Such a man needs to live alone and to listen to the voices of naturefor a long, long time.

This NWO organization isnt even national its an international organization. How do you assess this New World Order urge to rule the world? Will asked. Its fear-based, I guess. Your entire species is fear-based, Will said, from the lowest of the low to the so-called conquerors. What makes the New World Order movement different? Magnitude, I said. Its taking power obsession way out to extremes. Possibly, thats a necessary thingbefore theres change. Very good, Will said. Its part of a healing crisis, and as we see it, things will get a lot hotter before the crisis is over. When will it be over? I asked. When the love of power is transformed into the power of love. Then it aint gonna happen soon! I said. Sooner or later, Will said. Dont matter much. What matters is it will happen. As we were talking about the future, I had to ask: Will the old American freedom republic be re-born some day? No, Will said. But youll have an even better government system, which will provide abundance for all. Abundance for all? Hard to see that happening! Will laughed and then he asked, Whats your view on the Federal Reserve system? The Fed? Rockefellers Revenge, I call it. In 1911, the Supreme Court ordered the break-up of Rockefellers Standard Oil empire. Two years later, Rockefeller and his
78
fellow banksters got control of the countrys money system through the Fed. Wilson, who signed the Federal Reserve bill into law, later said I have unwittingly ruined my country. Wish hed of smartened up a little sooner. Is the system a big money-maker? Will asked. You bet it is! We, the debt slaves, now owe trillions of dollars to the banks that own the Fed. Will smiled. Seems only fair, he said. Whites stole the land from the Indians, and now its being stolen from them. The elders smiled. Will, I said, this is no smiling matter! Son, he said, dont get your dander up. Let me finish. Well okay, I said. Today, the stockholders of the Fed are private bankers. But in the future, as we see it, itll be the people of the nation who own the Fed. The bankers will still run it maybe. After all, they were smart enough to invent it. But itll be owned by the people in general, a kind of big and very profitable family business. This business will pay not only for the costs of government, health and education and so forth, itll pay dividends to the people from time to time. Sounds great, but can it really happen?practically. Hard for me to see it happening. It can happen in one of two ways, Will said. One, the whole nation can collapse into chaos and citizens re-build it betterwith a Fed owned by them. Or the people can switch paradigms. Right now, as you know, the nations running on the Darwin dog-eat-dog paradigm. What would it take to get the nation running on a holistic dog-help-dog paradigm?

As I understand it, Judaism, Christianity and Islam all originated in the same tribethe tribe of Abraham. I have some good news for the Christians you can throw away the book of Revelation. No apocalypse has to happen. In fact, you can throw away most of the Bible, everything except the Jesus teachings. Why? Theres a new book out that tells the true history of Jesus and the church, and the true history is nothing like the history taught by the church. The book is called The Bible Fraud. Its written by an Australian by the name of Tony Bushby. Jesus once said the truth will set you free. Well, are you ready to become free? The Holy Bible that the Christians think came out of the mouth of God was actually put together by order of the Roman Emperor Constantine, a pagan sun-worshipper who thought the Empire would be stronger if it had one official religion. As it turned out, the Empire fell apart after it got one official religion, but thats a different story.
85
Mary gave birth to Jesus and a twin, Judas. Their father was a Roman soldier, called Panthera. Panthera later became the emperor Tiberius, which is why Jesus and Judas were called the sons of God. The emperor was considered to be God. Jesus ben Panthera grew into a fine man and a renowned rabbi. Judas Khrestus was a belligerent drunk who became a war chief of the Nazarean. When he made a lot of trouble for Rome, the emperor ordered him crucified. As Judas was a son of God, he had the chance to escape, by letting someone else get crucified in his place. It wasnt easy, but they found someone else. Afterwards, Judas went to India, as a slave, and lived there the rest of his life. The emperor Constantine wanted a state religion with one son of God, not two. Two was too confusing. So what he did was combine the names of Jesus and Judas into Jesus Christ. The real Jesus was a brilliant rabbi who infuriated the big priests of his religion by trying to make some changes in the Torah. He had to flee far away as he could. Eventually he went to Britain and became a High Druid. He was so greatly respected, the British made him their kingBran the Blessed. I myself like the Bushby Jesus a lot more than the Constantine Jesus. By the way, the fact Jesus was a rabbi meant he was married. Today Christians have a good opportunity to let go the old Constantine religion and build a better Christianity, one based on the true Jesus and his teachings. If I was a Christian, Id want to keep Christmas and Easter maybe. Thats okay. They started out as pagan holidays. Get rid of the Bible, but keep the Jesus teachings, Christmas and Easter.
86
*** I also have good news for the Jewish peoples. After I read the Bushby book, the idea came to me that Rabbi Jesus was, after all, the Messiah you were looking for. Im told the Jews rejected Jesus as Messiah because he had no interest in freeing Israel from Rome. I think you ought to know that after Jesus became a king of the British, he and his sons put up a very good fight against the Romans. They would have won, too, except they were betrayed and taken to Rome for trial before the senate. A son of Jesus spoke so eloquently at the trial, the senate let the family off the hook. The senate even gave them a palace to stay in. Jesus and his family lived there seven years. Then they went back to Britain. I think its a good time for you, too, to make some changes in your religion. If I were you, Id get rid of this god Jehovah, or whatever you call him, this god who made life hell for your ancestors and then sent them into Palestine with orders to kill every man, woman and child. The terrible story of the Hebrew invasion of the Promised Land is told in the book of Joshua. Obviously, this god was not the Great Spirit. Great Spirit created the whole world in a week. If Great Spirit promised you your own nation, he could have created it in ten or fifteen minutesout of nothing. Back in those days, there were beings from other planets who came to Earth and meddled a lot with people, and Jehovah was one of those. Thats what I think. Wisdom begins in fear of the Lord, the old Hebrews said. I say it was the Rabbi Jesus who was right: Wisdom
87
begins in the love of the Great Spirit who is the creator of all life. Rabbi Jesus wanted to change the Torah a little, replace Jehovah with the God of Love. What was so bad about that? I dont think its too late to go along with him. *** I have good news for the Islamic peoples, too, but first, Id like to say a few things about Mohammad. Mohammad was a great prophet. He understood that all people are family. Because he treated all others as members of his own family, he was revered. People thronged around to hear what he had to say, and they stored his words in their hearts. He was a great war chief as well as a man of truth. When an army was sent against him from Mecca, he defeated that army with great cunning. When he went to Mecca next time, he was welcomed as a hero and a prophet. The Meccans put aside their old religions and became followers of Mohammad. Did they do this because they were so impressed by the wisdom of Mohammad?or because he had 30,000 armed warriors with him? Mohammad realized an important truth that not many realized. He saw that when a truth teaching becomes a powerful movement, there are many who are attracted to it, not because of its truth, but because of its power. When those who start such movements pass into spirit world, the people hungry for power struggle to control the movement. In time, the truth in the teachings is lost, and all that seems to matter is power. That is the way its always been on Earth. That is the way it is now.
88
Mohammad knew this. He respected the truth teachings of Moses and of Jesus and he was angered because the teachings were greatly changed by the power-priests. And so he said to his people: Each of you can talk with Allah directly. Do so, and do not trust the power-priests to tell what to think and what to do. Today, many Islamic people follow the power-priests and not the voice of Allah within. Islam people, why dont you listen to the advice of Mohammad? Let no one stand between you and God. The great Indian chief Crazy Horse said the same thing as Mohammad: There is no great father between me and the Great Spirit. Islam people, you have let the power-priests come between you and the Great Spirit. This is why you feel so humiliated, not because of the West. Islam people It is time to throw out these powerpriests of hate and get some good medicine menand medicine women. The good news is when you do this, youll make Mohammad very proud. More good news Mohammad saw himself as teaching the message that had been delivered by Rabbi Jesus and corrupted by the priests God is One, God is Love. So why dont you do as Mohammad did and go to the source teachings of Rabbi Jesus. Once the Christians and Jews get rid of their God of Fear scriptures, especially the chosen people nonsense, then you can all get together and be one tribe again. One happy tribe.
89
All are familiar with the Our Father. According to The Essene Gospel of Peace, Jesus also gave us an Our Mother: Our Mother which art upon earth, hallowed be the name. Thy kingdom come, and thy will be done in us, as it is in thee. As thou sendest every day thy angels, send them to us also. Forgive us our sins, as we atone all our sins against thee. And lead us not into sickness, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the earth, the body, and the health. Amen.

In the Old West, whites used to say, "The only good Indian is a dead Indian." In the New West, the whites are often the targets of their own science. "The only good human being is a dumbed-down human being. The Darwinized scientists have some strange beliefs. "Human beings are by nature sex-crazed and violent," these people say. "The only way to create a peaceful planet is to genetically re-engineer the species. As we define, so we create. Western civilization defined peace as the cessation of war, and starting from that definition, it marched off to war with the goal of ending war. If we change our definition of peace, perhaps that will allow us to become more successful in the peacemaking business. Let us define peace in positive terms, as, for instance, "a state of harmony in which individuals experience themselves as fully aligned with the principle of Love, which is the idea of being fully allowing." If you don't like that sort of abstract definition, that's okay. Often, pictures and symbols are far more meaningful than abstract words. If I were to define peace in pictures, I might say, "Peace is the experience of floating on a mountain lake in the warmth of the summer sun and hearing music coming from the clouds." Come up with your own picture of peace, your own definition. When you do this, you are beginning the process of manifesting a preferred reality. Make a story about your new definition. Create a song about it. Dance the definition! The more you turn your definition into art, the more powerful it becomes. The more powerful it becomes, the more it contributes to the lives of other peacemakers. The Indians are very good at this sort of definition of things. Read Black Elk Speaks. In this book, Black Elk tells
92
how his people turned his great vision of reality into tribal theater. All the members of the tribe participated in Black Elk's vision. *** During the Vietnam War, I had many protestor friends who thought of themselves as peace warriors. Some of them were, but most were not. Most "peace movements" arise in opposition to wars. Motivated by the spirit of resistance, these movements take on the character of warfaring. They become wars"wars for peace." The warriors of resistance are still warriors of darkness, no matter how just their cause. They are not as dark as those they oppose, but they are still "in the dark." The real peace warriors are those who develop the ability to go beyond resistance. In order to develop this ability, it may be helpful to understand that you do not need to fight anyone or anything in order to create what you want to create in life, unless of course you want to create fighting. Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary, the Hopi elders say. I will war no more," said Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce at the end of his long war with the whites. Chief Joseph and his people were involved in over 200 engagements with the U.S. Cavalry ... and they won, or escaped from, every engagement except the last. By saying "I will war no more," Joseph was not only observing the obvious, that he no longer had a capability for making war, he was also acknowledging the truth that the path of war leads only to more war.
93
To go to war against enemies results only in the creation of bigger and bigger enemies. War is obsolete. New Biology explains why. It teaches that who we really are is consciousness and not a physical body. Our bodies may be thought of as radios. Who we really are is the broadcast station, not the radio. Whatever happens to our radio-bodies, our consciousness-broadcast stations cannot be destroyed. For anyone with this true science understanding, war is nothing but violent puppet theater. The puppets smash each other to pieces and call the whole thing "glorious." It is not glorious. It is just stupid. What does it mean to be the dictator of the world? It means only that you are the nastiest puppet in the theater.

The old guy laughed. Were all familiar!all relations. No, I said, I mean havent I seen your face in the newspapers or something? Newspapers? Well, there was a little article on me a ways backan obituary they call it. What year was that? Angeline. 1866, Angeline said. Oh yeah, 1866. I smiled. This is the first time Ive been given a lift by a dead man! The old guy laughed. And a dead woman. Angeline died in 1896a hundred years ago. I figured the two of them were crazy, so I just played along. And what was your name, sir?when you were living. Sealth, the old guy said. Chief Sealth, Angeline added. Funny, I said, I dont recall ever having heard of a Chief Sealth. The whites changed his name, Angeline said. Like they did with everything. Suddenly, I recognized the old man. Youre Chief Seattle! Thats what they call me. I was raised on your wisdom, I exclaimed. I remember your words to this day When the last red man has perished, when the memory of my people is just a story to the white men, these shores will swarm with the invisible dead. You spoke these words!
96
Did I? Father, Angeline said, you know very well you did. I continued: When your childrens children think themselves alone in the field, the store, the shop, upon the road, in the silence of the woods, they will not be alone. At nightwhen the streets of your cities and villages seem to be deserted, they will throng with the returning spirits who loved, and still love, this beautiful land. The old man nodded and spoke quietly, Let the white man be just and kindly with my people, for the dead are not powerless. I leaned forward, tears in my eyes. I am so honored to meet you, sirand your daughter. The chief nodded. Those words were spoken long ago. Im glad to see theyre still remembered. The dead are not dead, just different. I guess youre the living proof of that, I said. The chief laughed. Yes, son, the living proof. The spirit world is aliveand closer than people think. I looked out as we chugged up over the cloud cover, leaving the snowfall behind. Wow! I exclaimed. Stars thronged the night sky. Its a beautiful cosmos, the chief said quietly. We cant be far from the top now, I said. About ten minutes, Angeline said, in your counting. In the old days, the chief said, we Indians never came up here. We believed there were a lot of bad spirits living here. The first two-leggeds to climb to the top were whites. Which goes to show . Show what? I asked.
97
When an individual, or a tribe, surrenders to fear and justifies its surrender with some superstition or other, then the time of that individual or tribe comes to an end. The chief turned and looked at me, eye to eye. Son, the Great Spirit wants man to evolve, not stay in one place. Mans mission is to know the unknown. And you cant know the unknown, I said, by hanging around in the known all the time. That right, son, the chief said. I want you to say that in your book. My book? The chief smiled. Youre going to be writing a book, son, a book about the purification. Purification? Whats that? Thats what we Indians call the coming time of change. Itll be a rough trip for those riding on Mother Earth, especially when the blue comets start showing up. Things will fall apart old ways of thought, old institutions, even some of the land masses. And thats the purification? The chief laughed. No, son, thats just whats happening at the timearound and about. The purification is something that happens inside the individual, or not. You see, son the Great Spirit is within every one. Great Spirit is the purity within. The purification is the process of finding the Pure within. Were here, Angeline announced, stopping the car. I looked out. Sure enough, we were on top of Takhoma. The three of us stepped out into the snow. For some reason or other, it didnt feel a bit cold! Wow, I said. Below us stretched an endless frozen sea of white. Above, a glistening womb of stars, some looking
98
big as snowballs. I turned quickly to share my excitement they were gone! And two light beings stood where they had been. Chief? I asked. Yes, son. We look a bit changed, eh? You sure do! They were beautiful now, no trace of the old Indian costumes. The car had changed, too! Now it was some sort of hovering spacecraft. Youre UFO people! I exclaimed. Once upon a time, we were Seattle and Angeline, the chief said. Now we live in a different place. Its time for us to return to our Mothership. Can I go with you? I asked. No, son, your place is here on Mother Earth. You have important work to do. I do? Your book. Oh. I want you tell the people something. Tell them that the power of Great Spirit is in everyone and manifests itself every day in their definition of things. If a person defines something in negative terms, then his experience of that thing will be negative. Understand? Yes. And if he defines something in positive terms, then his experience of that thing will be positive. Got it. Those who define the great purification as terrifying will find it full of terrors. Indeed. But for those who define it as a path to the stars, it becomes a path to the stars. Believe it,

son. Believe it until you know it to be true. When you know it to be true, it must manifest as your reality. Good bye, my friend. The shining ones stepped into their craft. Wait! I cried. The chief paused, then nodded toward me. For the record, chief, whats the name of your Mothership? The chief smiled. For the record its called The YoSoy-Koda.

"What is life all about?" Mel asked. The Light didn't hesitate a moment. It took Mel on a fantastic tour of the universe. Everything that exists, as Mel saw with his own eyes, is part of a wondrous River of Life that flows from the Creator. Needless to say, the tour resulted in a complete change of attitude on Mels part. He became deliriously joyful. After experiencing the Love and Light of the other side, most spirits don't want to return to Earth. Mellen-Thomas, however, was ready to go back immediately.... The Light picked up on his desire, and in a moment Mel felt himself spiraling down into Earth reality. On his way, he had the thought he'd be reborn in a brand new body. That was not the case, however. Mel was surprised to find himself waking up in his old body. He was even more surprised to find that his body was totally cured of cancer. Mel Benedict is walking the Earth today, twenty years after he passed away with terminal cancer. So the next time you drop your body and find yourself in the Light, remember the story of Mellen-Thomas Benedict. You may want to do as he did.

Afterword
Early drafts of Sacred Circle were two to three times as long as this published version. Much has been cut, so as to purify the work, so to speak--turn it into a concise, readerfriendly read that all might profit from, in one way or another. Before closing our storytelling event, Id like to up-date you on a few matters of importance and add one suggestion to the list of suggestions offered by the Hopi elders. Not long ago, Janet McCloud followed Thomas into spirit world. A year or so before she passed, she told me that following the memorial service for Thomas, she had a dream of him. He appeared with three other Hopi spirit-elders. The three others said nothing to Janet, but Thomas smiled and said, Have them take my clothes to your house. A strange thing to say, you may think. I dont know what Janets interpretation of the dream was, but for me, the dream means that Thomas plans to be re-born into the McCloud family. This is good news! The old peace warrior is coming back, which means that life will go on beyond 2012. As I see it, what the Hopis call the Fourth Hoop (fourth world) ends in 2012, and the Fifth Hoop begins. I am greatly impressed with the traditional Hopis, as they not only proved wonderful keepers of the ancient wisdom, they also proved excellent communicators of their wisdom to the world at large. Thomas died of cancer of the spine, and to me this means he suffered a lack of support in his time. It would be good if lack of support was no longer a problem for the elders. The October 1-8, 2004 issue of the Lakota Journal reports that Miracle, the white buffalo, passed away of natural cause shortly after its tenth birthday.

In the year after its birth, the white buffalo calf had as many as 2,000 visitors per day. Dave Heider, the owner, said, Basically, she did everything that the prophecy said she would do, except turn white again. The prophecy said she would turn white again when theres peace in the world. On a happier note a second white buffalo calf has been born!this one at a buffalo ranch in northern Arizona. The Hopi elders provide us with a good list of things to consider, and act upon. To this list, Ill add one suggestion of my own . Focus, in meditation, on world peace for at least one minute every day. Consciousness drives biology, Dr. Bruce Lipton has said. It also drives human history. What you focus upon in consciousness is what the quantum wizard universe endeavors to manifest for you. So Is it a good idea to watch CNN and Fox every day?-filling your consciousness with images of disaster. Is it a good idea to view disaster movies? No! Help to counter-act the disaster-focus of so many of our fellow humans with a daily focus on peace. Find a good symbol for peace and use it in your focus. Cant think of one? Let me recommend one the white buffalo calf. All the colors of the rainbow are gathered in the whiteness!
