1 Revision information
This document has been revised to revision D due to the introduction of Fixed Size Alteration and in order to add some technical information.
2 Description
The purpose of this feature is to improve the transmission network utilization between the BSC and the RBS nodes. LAPD concentration allows different terminal equipment (TRXCs and possibly the CF) to share the same 64 Kbit/s PCM timeslot on the A-bis interface. The function is implemented in the DXU in the RBS 2000. The feature can not be active at the same time as the optional feature LAPD Multiplexing RBS2000 for a CF or TRXC.
For RBS sites with 3 TRXs or more, LAPD concentration is the most efficient way of saving transmission resources on the A-bis interface. For RBS sites with less then 3 TRXs, LAPD multiplexing is most effective.

How to set the SAE number of individuals is described in document "" Setting of Size Alterations Events in BSC/TRC"" no. 105/190 46-FAD 104 06, included in this DTInfomodel. Two methods are described but we recommend that the Fixed SAE method is used.
To use the LAPD Concentration, it is necessary to define the Managed Object, RXOCON.
RXMOI:MO=RXOCON-1, DCP=64&&87;
Note: For full definition of TG see basic feature "Transceiver Group G12".

Take equipment into service and deblock the MO.
RXESI:MO=RXOCON-1; RXBLE:MO=RXOCON-1;
4 Miscellaneous Information
4.1 LAPD Signalling
LAPD is a protocol used for signalling on the A-bis interface between BSCs and BTSs. It operates at the data link layer (layer 2) of the OSI architecture. The following links are supported and used: L2ML Layer 2 Management Link, for O&M of the links. OML O&M Link, for O&M of the BTS equipment. RSL Radio Signalling Link, for transmission of traffic messages. OML links are used for TRH-CF* and TRH-TRXC signalling. RSL links are used for TRH-TRXC signalling to SDCCH, BCCH etc. *Only the first link that is deblocked.
