Dear Chairman Bennett and Members of the State Central Committee: With this letter I hereby officially announce that I am running for the important position of Chairman of the Ohio Republican Party. I am doing so because I believe that my leadership in the grassroots part of our Party over the last several years was successful in bringing people with many diverse viewpoints together. I believe that I am uniquely qualified to unify the fiscal conservative, social conservative, and moderate Republicans here in Ohio and extend my previous success to the entire Republican Party. As my attached resume will demonstrate, I have significant experience running non-profit organizations, along with 25 years of business experience, and I have demonstrated the skills required to be successful in this challenging position. After many year of being a sideline Republican I decided that I could no longer stand by and watch our country being destroyed. In the past four years I have given more money, and time, than my family could afford in support of Republican candidates. I believe that my references will testify to the fact that few individuals in the State of Ohio worked harder or did more to elect our Republican candidates in 2010 and 2012. If the party believes that it is the Chairmans responsibility to raise money, develop candidates, organize campaigns, win elections, and grow the Republican coalition, then I think that you will find that I am highly qualified for this position. While none of us were in any way satisfied with the outcome of the 2012 Presidential election, based on postelection analysis by state and national consultants, the story in Ohio was not that we lost, but that the election was so close. It is my belief that my leadership, and more importantly the efforts of those groups and citizens in the grassroots movement who responded to my leadership, were responsible for that outcome. I am confident that unify all coalitions, and focusing the efforts of all of our supporters on implementing the changes that are necessary for success, that I can lead the Ohio Republican Party to new levels of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity that will benefit both our great state and our nation.
