SoundMAX(R) Readme INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS: Installation or Update of Analog Devices SoundMAX Cadenza NOTE: Remove any previously installed driver using the instructions in the next section. 1. From the task bar, click on Start -> Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type X:\path\setup, where X:\path is the full path to the root of the installation media. 3. When upgrading or reinstalling, a dialog will appear. Select Reinstall and press Next. 4. Click on the OK button or press the ENTER key. 5. Click on the Next and OK prompts as they appear. 6. Reboot the system to complete the installation. Removal of Analog Devices SoundMAX Cadenza 1. From the task bar, click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel, or for Windows XP click on Start -> My Computer -> System Tasks. 2. Double-click on the Add/Remove programs icon. 3. Double-click on SoundMAX Install. 4. If the installation media is present, a dialog will appear. Select Remove and press Next. 5. Reboot the system to fully uninstall the drivers. Microsoft* Windows* 98 SE audio update This audio driver requires an update to the Microsoft* Windows* 98 SE operating system's audio components. The updated audio components are located in the file "242937USA8.EXE". To install the updated audio components: Click on the Windows 98 SE "Start" button Select "Run" Type x:\<folder>\269601USA8.EXE. "x:\<folder>" is the drive and folder that the audio drivers were unzipped to. The update program will prompt you for additonal information and will automatica lly update the operating system's audio components. You will be prompted to res tart your system after the update. Microsoft* 2000 audio update This audio driver requires Service Pack 1 for the Microsoft* Windows* 2000 opera

ting system. Service Pack 1 can be located here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/sp1/default.asp Note: You can do either the express or the network installation. Read all infor mation on the website before you proceed. To install the Service Pack: Click on the Windows 2000 "Start" button Select "Run" Type x:\<folder>\sp1network.exe. "x:<folder>" is the drive and folder that the Service Pack were downloaded to. or Type x:\<folder>\sp1express.exe. "x:<folder>" is the drive and folder that the Service Pack were downloaded to. The update program will prompt you for additonal information and will automatica lly update the operating system.
