Scenario

The technological advancement of the modern era has substantially contributed to offer innovative products and services to customers. For the organisation conducting E-business it becomes even more important to exploit technology in a manner that can offer an advantage over the competitors. In this effort the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations is also key to success.

Your Task

Please choose an E-business organisation you know well and do as following:

1- Briefly explain the overall operations management applying the input-transformationoutput model. (LO1, LO5). 2- Critically evaluate the current performance of its enterprise information/application architecture whilst giving in particular focus to the customer relationship management (CRM) and the Knowledge Management value chain. (LO2, LO3, LO5). 3- Identify and justify those operations and information system areas that are critical in order to gain the competitive edge; e.g, supply chain, capacity planning, resource planning, internal IS processes, quality management or any other. (LO1, LO4).
4- Evaluate solutions with the use of appropriate theoretical concepts, models and real life

examples, in order to make the identified areas from above, more efficient and effective and therefore contribute to the competitive advantage of the organisation better. (LO1, LO2, LO3, LO4).
