Pros: I've waited a fair bit with posting a review on this piece of hardware.

I'm glad I did because the device has evolved a lot! Sure you still have the default functionality described by others (which I won't go into detail discussing), but let's list the available emulators: Functioning out of the box on the Native OS: =========================================== - Capcom Play System (CPS1) - Capcom Play System II (CPS2) - Neo-Geo (MVS) - Nintendo Game Boy Advance (GBA) - Nintendo NES (NES) - Nintendo SNES (SNES) - Sega Mega Drive/Genesis (MD) Additionally available for the Native OS (requires file download from the Internet): ======================================== - Atari 800 (Atari800) - Atari 7800 (ProoSystem) - Atari Lynx (LynGOO) - ColecoVision (ColecOO) - Magnavox Odyssey 2 / Videopac+ (O2EM A320) - Multiple Arcade Machine (MAME4ALL) - Nintendo Game Boy (GB) - Nintendo Game Boy Color (GBC) - Neo-Geo (MVS) - Neo-Geo Pocket (NGP) - PC Engine / TurboGrafx (DOOEngine) - PIE Pacman (PIEa320) - Sega Game Gear (GG, SmsGGOO) - Sega Master System (SMS, SmsGGOO) - Sinclair ZX Spectrum (Unreal Speccy Portable) - WonderSwan and WonderSwan Color (nuiWSC) Additionally available for Dingux (requires SD card and dualboot capability): ================================= - Amiga 500 (UAE4ALL) - Amstrad CPC 6128 (Pituka) - Amstrad CPC Caprice (Dingux-CAP32) - Atari ST (DCaSTaway, Hatari) - Atari 800, 800XL, 130XE and 5200 (Atari800, or Dingux-Atari, based on PSPAtari) - Atari 2600 (Dingux-2600, based on Stella) - Atari 7800 (Dingux-7800, based on ProSystem) - Capcom Play System (FinalBurnAlpha320) - Capcom Play System II (FinalBurnAlpha320) - ColecoVision (Dingux-Colem, based on ColEm) - Commodore 64 (Frodo, Vice) - Commodore 64 / VIC20 / PLUS4 (Vice) - Intellivision (Dingux-Int, based on Jzintv) - Java (Midpath) - MSX, MSX2 and MSX2+ (OpenMSX or Dingux-MSX, based on fMSX) - Multiple Arcade Machine (MAME4All) - Nec PC98 (np2_dingux, based on NP2) - Neo-Geo (FinalBurnAlpha320) - Neo-Geo Pocket (uNGP) - Nintendo Gameboy / Gameboy Color (Gnuboy or Gnuboy 4D, port of Gnuboy native) - Nintendo GameBoy Advance (gpSP) - Nintendo NES (Nofrendo or FCEU320 or NESemu) - Nintendo SNES (Snes9X or Snes9x4D) - PC DOS (DOSBox) - PC Engine / TurboGrafx (uPCE or Dingux-Hugo, based on Hu-Go) - ScummVM (ScummVM)

Cons: A con over some other handhelds out there is that this device has no touchscreen, nor any kind of wireless communication option. The USB port is a passive one, meaning it can't be fitted with a wifi/bluetooth/3G dongle. Still, I didn't require one. The general con of this device is that if you want to do extraordinary things with it, you'll have to tech up a bit. Don't get me wrong, out of the box it works OK, but to unleash its full potential, installing the Dingux OS is required. This is my reason for rating it 4/5 in Ease-Of-Use. My Dingoo arrived with 2 defective/stuck pixels. I ran some LCD testers and rubbed the screen to see if I could get them fixed, but to no avail. Normally I'd return the product instantly but I didn't really notice the pixels in practice, unless I went staring at a black screen for a long time. Which I don't. But this is the reason I rated it 4/5 in the Build Quality section. Also, the reset 'button' isn't too required with the regular OS use, but sometimes in the experimental regions of Dingux, it might come in handy. That's why I modded it to be a button so I can press it more easily. ;) Other Thoughts: I made some modifications to my Dingoo: -Reset button mod (from http://www.dingoo-digital.com/articles/modifications/easy-way-howmake-reset-button-dingoo-a320) -I installed Firmware 1.2 to fix the Y/B button press bug. (Custom Firmware 1.2 POF recommended) -I installed DualBoot to boot into Dingux aside the normal OS. Read how to do this at http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-help/dual-boot-loader-faqtroubleshooting/ . -I installed the Dingux Local Pack from http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-games-andhomebrew/, along with GMenu for easier/safer game access. All things considered, I now have a far more capable portable game console than a NDS for about half the price. Add to that the multimedia capabilities and the TVOut and you have yourself a winner! Bottomline: Check out http://dingoonity.org/ for all kinds of news surrounding this device, including new games and releases. If you're still debating whether you should get one, that website will convince you! :)
