CLE Students Role-play as Financial Analysts at McCormick & Co.

Each fall, our Financial Statement Analysis class (660.304) showcases a local Fortune 500 firm, McCormick and Company, evaluating company performance and valuation using a variety of techniques. A capstone exercise includes a field trip to the Investor Relations group at the companys corporate headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. This years trip took place on Friday, October 28 and while there, McCormick employees treated Hopkins students as Wall Street analysts, educating them through a tour of their global supermarket and a presentation of current financial data followed by a question and answer session. The day ended on a high note with food (prepared, of course, with McCormick spices) and goodie bags for all!

CLEs Own Renaissance Man

If you havent been over to Whitehead Hall lately, you owe yourself the trip to check out Hopkins newest art gallery on display in Whitehead 102 and the reception area to the CLE administrative offices. All of the paintings reflect the talent and generosity of the CLEs very own Renaissance Man, Thanapoom (Mo) Boonipat, a 2010 Hopkins graduate. As an undergrad, Mo was a familiar face in Whitehead 104 as an active member of the Marshall Salant Investment Team and an E&M minor/BME major. Even now, Mo continues to make an occasional stop at the CLE between interviews for medical school. Imagine, all these accomplishments and now we discover he can paint too. Watch out Leonardo da Vinci, you have new competition from Hopkins!
