INFORMATICA INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

PRE-REQUISENTS:-

Operating System Windows XP Service pack 2. RDBMS Oracle 10g (To create a repository). RAM 1GB. Hard disk space - 3GB (1GB Client, 2 GB Server). System date -- 2009 Feb 9. One database user account for repository.

CREATION OF REPOSITORY DATABASE USER ACCOUNT:STEPS:

Log on to Oracle with user name (System OR /as sysdba). SQL > Grant dba to Tecno Identified by rep Grant Succeed SQL > Conn Tecno/rep @ orcl; Connected.

(Now account is created)

SERVER INSTALLLATION:STEPS:

Browse to the location of server software folder in CD Click on install. Select the language Click ok. Click on next. Select installation type Install power center 8.6.0 Upgrade power center 8.6.0 5. Click on next 6. Click on Browse to select a valid license key file. i.e. E:\ informatics 8\Rawana.key 7. Click on next 8. Click on next 9. Choose the installation direction D: \ informatics \power center 8.6.0 (by default)

10. Click on next 11. Again click on next 12. Click on install 13. Select create anew domain 14. Click on next 15. Enter the following information to store domain configuration metadata. Database type: Oracle Database URL: Tecno:1521 (computer name Or host name) Database user ID: Tecno Database user password: Rep Database Service name: Orcl 16. Click on Test connection (connection successfully or Test connection passed) 17. Click on next

ENTER THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

Domain name : Domain_Tecno Domain host name: Tecno Node name: node 01_Tecno Domain port no: 6001 Domain user name: Admin Domain password: Admin Confirm password: Admin 18. Click on next Creating domain

19.Un check Run informatica Services under a different user account 20. Click on next Please wait 21. Installation Success

CREATION OF POWER CENTER SERVICES:1. CREATION OF REPOSITIORY SERVICE:-

Start ProgramsInformatica power center 8.6.0ServicePower center Administration ConsoleUser name: Admin Pwd: Admin Click on login Select Administration console From CREATE MenuSelect Repository ServiceEnter the following detailsService Name: Tecno_rep License: licence_Tecno_22997 Node : Node 01_Tecno Database type: Oracle Code page: MS Windows latin1 (ANSI) Superset of latin1 Connecting String: Oracle Database User: Tecno Database pwd: rep Select Create new repository content Click on Create. Now 522 tables are created (Propritary table) Click on Close.

SQL > Select * From Tables 522 tables are appeared. (These tables are given by Informatica Corporation).

2. CREATION OF INTEGRATION SERVICE:-

Log on to Administration consloe from create menu Select integration service Create new Integration Service Service Name : Tecno Location : Domine_ Tecno License : license_ Tecno _22997 Assign: Grid Node Node 01_Tecno Domain for Associated Repository Service: Domain_Tecno. Associated Repository Service Repository User Name Repository PWD Data Movement code Click on create Check the enable service: Enable the integration service after creation
Click ok One Error will come (Let it) Click on close Click on Sign off

5. TROUBLE SHOOTING:-

StartSetting Control Panel Administrative toolsServicesStop the following servicesInformatica Orchestrator informatica power center 8.6.0Set up the Start up type 2manualStart the above services again Then it get started with manual

7. CLIENT INSTALLATIONS:-

Browse to the location of client folder in CD Click on install Select the language to installClick okClick on nextClick in next (1GB required) Choose the Installation directory D:\informatica\power center 8.6.0(default) Click on nextClick on install Please waitClick on nextSelect appl. to lanch. Select Power center designer Click on done From repository navigator window Select repositories From repository menu Click on add Enter the repository name: Tecno_rep Username: administrator Click okright click on Tecno_repClick connect from connection setting Select the domain Domain_Tecno User name: Administrator Password: administrator Click on connect Then we start power center repository manager for creating folder.
