Under the African Sun

A parable by, Brent S
Kenya, a vast land where the leopards lived, played and grew up to live happy lives under the African sun. The leopards lived in different groups within Kenya, some practicing different religions but they all believed in one god and they got along fine. Within Kenya there were many bodies of water that the animals drank from and used in everyday life, one was Lake Victoria which is the biggest river in Africa. Also within Kenya there was Mount Kenya which the animals like to stare at as the sun set. The leopards farmed, made their own goods and sometimes traded with other animals in the great continent of Africa. Everything was fine until one day when the sky was dark and the leopards saw a lion over the horizon. The Lions were one group of animals the leopards never seem, they lived farther up North than the other animals and had very advanced things, like caves and new ways to hunt pray. They used a weapon that was new to the region of Kenya, they would make there claws as sharp as knifes and then use that to hunt. The lions came into Kenya and changed their way of life forever, they no longer had their tribal leaders and they made it that the animals had to work longer to feed the hungry lions. The sun never shined as brightly from the day forward, everything was dark. Then the lions got into war with the cheetahs and the all the animals of Kenya had to help to, then after many years of the leopards helping by making food and supplies the lions said they would get them more freedom and give them more space. After years of the lions still ruling over the leopards, the leopards wanted to push the lions out of there land, and they needed a leader to do that. Jomo Kenyatta was chosen, they started leading peaceful protests, the lions saw what was happening and they were afraid that the leopards would push then out so the put there leader in a cave so he could not encourage the people any more. The leopards would not give up, and then the country of Kenya was declared in war. Many leopards were sent out of Kenya and some were killed by the lions. But in the end the leopards prevailed and they sent the lions out of Kenya and there leader Jomo Kenyatta got out of cave and then he became the first president of Kenya. But then, only then after the lions left did the sun shine again, and only then did the leopards feel happiness.
