FOR INSTALLATION OF FEEDER PILLAR

1.0

PURPOSE The purpose of this Method Statement is to outline the sequences and the methods of works intended to be used for installation of Feeder Pillar.

2.0

SCOPE The scope of works comprises: Installation of Feeder Pillar.

3.0

RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1 Project Manager: Overall in-charge of the project and report to the MEP Management. 3.2 Engineers : Ensure that all related works are carried-out in accordance with the approved drawings, specifications schedule, quality, safety. They will report to the project manager. 3.3 Supervisor or Foreman: Supervise the entire installation at the field and report to the assigned Engineers.

PROCEDURE

METHOD STATEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF FEEDER PILLAR:


6.1 Ensure that the location where the Feeder Pillars to be installed conforms to the approved drawings. In case of any field changes on the locations to suit the field requirements, it shall be reflected on the drawings and informed the engineering department for As - Built drawing. 6.2 Ensure that the materials type, rating, size and area classification etc. conform to the project specifications and drawings. 6.3 Obtain the work permit as required. 6.4 Ensure that area/ surfaces (i.e. walls, structures, flooring etc.) where it will be mounted are finished/ painted and handed over for work execution. During installation the necessary protection to be provided on floors, walls and other structures if any to avoid any damage. Where applicable, all openings near the point of installation (which are not in normal use) shall be covered to prevent from dust ingress. 6.5 Feeder Pillar shall be transported to their location / area by using HI-UP. Feeder pillars to be placed/ mounted directly on outdoor civil foundation by using HI-UP,

but first ensure that foundation is well finished and handed over to Electrical group. 6.6 Ensure that the approved drawings of feeder pillar are available. Drill and insert anchors. Ensure that the proper types, size of anchors bolts/ washers (Tendative size of anchor bolt will be 10mm dia & 100mm long) are used. Check the alignment, level and elevation. 6.7 Check that all accessories are complete and no damage on the unit. 6.8 Following erection, all compartment doors shall be checked to ensure that they operate properly and without obstruction and that all compartments are clear of tools and erection debris. Check the load schedule / identifications if they are corresponding to the approved drawings. 6.9 Clearances for maintenance purposes on door opening shall be observed/ maintained. 6.10 Clean the external/ internals of Feeder Pillars and the surrounding of the area. 6.11 After installation, the necessary protection must be provided to the equipment when required (i.e. cover with tarpaulin plastic, wood etc.) to prevent from any deterioration/ damage. 6.12 Ensure that all related works are done and completed (i.e. necessary accessories installed, cablings, earthing, etc.) as specified on the approved drawings and specifications 6.13 Inspection shall be carried out by the consultant by notifying them through Inspection Request Form.

PLANT & TOOLS

The following equipments will be used: Hi-Up Forklift, Trolleys, Pick-ups Hand Tools 8.0 SAFETY

The contractor will be responsible for all the necessary safety measures at all time. All works related will be executed in accordance with the Clients and MEP Health and Safety Plan. The work will only proceed when a Permit to Work (PTW) has been obtained or when required. The PTW will be kept on the site for consultation during the erection works. Special attention will be given to: - Cordoning off the specified working area and provision of applicable safety warning sign boards. (See the attached Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment Sheet)
