(Synopsis Seminar) Speaker Topic Venue Date & Time: : Chandrakant Badgaiyan : Mobile Application based Steganographic Technique For Hiding Images Using Password Protection : Ramanujan Hall (F2) : Friday, 10th May 2013, 10.00 am onwards.

ABSTRACT : Today information world has become fully digitized. All type of data whether it is user name, password of banking/social sites/online trading, any important personal or government file, blue print of any invention, product prototype, formula of any chemical reaction or any govt. secret/defense agencys information, everything is in digital format which is freely available on networks and use networks for transferring from one place to other. In such situation Data Security has become a critical issue especially after the advent of E-Commerce, M-Commerce and online shopping. For achieving this we have two different ways Encryption of data and Steganography. On the other hand world is being mobile day by day. Now mobile is available with higher processing power with multifaceted application, entertainment application and a chain of sophisticated sensors which are capable to record all activity of a mankind. For data security on mobile phones has been used in past. That was based on SMS and MMS based steganography which has a drawback of limitation of size of data to be embedded. One more problem was both data hiding application and recovering application was separate due to which process becomes more complex. In our proposed technique, we are going to leverage advantage of Mobile computing i.e. mobility and all time connectivity and Steganography i.e. hiding image data into cover data which in our case a mobile application such a way that it is not observable to anyone and the only method to recover it is a secret key which is known to user only. Out of many advantages, this technique has significant advantage of high payload capacity to be embedded over all other techniques and mobility. Due to its advantages this technique has a wide range of applications and its reach to a common man. This application is developed on J2ME platform and tested on various mobile devices like Nokia Supernova 7610 for non touch application Mobile Game Maze and Nokia C5 for touch application Paint Brush.

All are cordially Welcome
