In line with the government's austerity prog.ar4 this Office reiterates its policy on the conduct and collection of fees for the graduation rites as contained in DepEd
Order No. 9, s. 2012, to wit:

a.

Public schooi heads (SHs), teachers and othet DepEd personnel are not allowed to collect any graduatiotr fees or any kind of contribution for the
graduation rites. PTAs may give donations in cash or in kind for the graduation ceremonies and celebrations No ron-academic projects shall be imposed as requiremeds for graduation. Contributioni for the annual yearbook shall be on voluntary basis No extravaganl special attire or extraordinary venue for the ceremonies should be required. Graduation rites should not be exercised in splurging ald display ofpomp and pageantry but should be Spafian a{fairs which exhort civic duties, sense of comrnunity and personal responsibilities and should be memorable, exciting and animated vr'ithout baggage ofextra cost and excessive spending Futthermore, graduation rites should be conducted in an approp.iale solemn ceremony, befitting 11'!e graduating studenls and their parnls and shall not be nsed for political forum. Attached is the suggested programme in the conduct of the activity.

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 26, s.2012 entitled School Caiendar for School Year (S9 2012-2013, all Graduation Rites shall be scheduled on March 18 or 19, 2013 to maximize teaching and leaming activities.
