It gives us a great sense of purposeful commitment to announce the Tenth Cycle of the Awards. Yes, this year the ARCHITECTURE+ DESIGN & awards process is being organised in close partnership and association with , pioneers in the sanitaryware segment in India and conforming to their tradition of being at the forefront of innovation. They would be playing a key role in the presentation of these awards. We are very thankful to our former associate for having very committedly partnered with us all these years and provided a strong foundation to the institutionalisation of these Awards. We feel positive that we would now further cement this endeavour of uplifting innovation in architecture. The experience of the earlier cycles has been very rewarding and educative. Our aim stands further strengthened to appreciate architectural solutions excelling in functionality, environmental concerns, aesthetic values and depicting a fresh approach with respect to the context. This year we have also included a new category for Interior Design in Residences. have pleasure ARCHITECTURE+ DESIGN and in inviting entries for the different categories and assure the participants of their commitment to unbiased, honest and fair jury outcomes, respecting the inherent spirit of creativity in architecture and design.

n what is essentially an art gallery, climatic considerations, notion of ablution, essence of Buddhist rock-cut architecture and plastic space all contributed to the image of the space as a cave. Relying on fundamental aspects of space perception, which are sensorial, it evokes feelings through intuitive responses generated by elements of nature, especially light. Contiguous spaces defined by continuous planes get further articulated through incident
light. Skylights and shell apertures of various shapes and sizes orient differently to allow varying intensity of light from different directions, changing moods and spatial definition within. These dynamics of space and light makes it sculptural and mysterious. The plan evolves out of intersecting circles and ellipses, the spaces formed within being contiguous and amorphous through inclined planes of domes, curvilinear planes of

s architects, one has to achieve the balance between client requirements and aspirations with technology and good architecture as well as the landscape within the master plan.
