I. Requirements
1-1. An established VAST or ST7501 deployment consisting of multiple network cameras, where the VAST or ST7501 servers can be accessed via a public IP or DNS service. The corresponding VAST and ST7501 software must be of a revision number 1.5.2.8 and above.

1-2. Network cameras have already been configured via VAST or ST7501 software, namely, "inserted" into the managed list of cameras of the above software. 1-3. iViewer supports iPAD1, iPad2, and iPhone 3GS or above running iOS 5.0 or above. 1-4. The iViewer rev. 1.3 supports direct connections with network cameras when their IPs are known to the user. However, playing back of the recorded videos from those cameras still requires the delivery through VAST or ST servers.

II. Getting Started and Basic Operation

Starting Up 2-1. iViewer is aquired through App Store, and is started by a double tap on its icon. 2-2. You will enter the Live view window. On initial setup, you should tap the Configuration button on the lower left of the screen to enlist cameras or servers.

2-3. You will enter the Configuration window. 2-3-1. If you are adding individual cameras: Tap on the Camera tab. The tab will be highlighted with a blue background. You may then single tap in each entry field including, Camera name , Address , Port , User name , Password , and Stream number. By default, Stream #3 is selected for its lower resolution and frame rate, e.g., 176x144 and 5fps, and is recommended. When done, click the Add button to recruit the camera, and repeat the process to add more. A keypad will prompt whenever you tap on an entry field. The number of added cameras will be shown at the lower left, on the List(#) button.

IMPORTANT: If you connect via Internet to a VAST/ST server or cameras behind firewall or router, configure the following: When connecting to a VAST/ST server If a VAST/ST server is located behind a firewall or router, configure port forwarding or "bypass tunnel," by mapping TCP port "3454" (for VAST access) on the router to your VAST/ST server. Enter the server's public IP and port "3454" on the iViewer configuration pane. When connecting to individual cameras If an individual camera is located behind a firewall or router, configure port forwarding or "bypass tunnel," by mapping TCP port "80" (camera's default for HTTP). Enter the camera's public IP and port "80" on the iViewer configuration pane. Please consult your network administrator or the documentation that came with your firewall or broadband router. Below are typical TCP ports for access to individual network cameras Network General settings: HTTPS = 443 Two way audio = 5060 FTP = 21 Streaming: HTTP = Secondary HTTP = RTSP = RTP for video = RTCP for video = RTP for audio = 80 8080 554 5556 5557 5558

NOTE: The Configuration pages (such as that for adding cameras) can not rotate to a landscape orientation.

2-3-2. If you are adding a VAST/ST server: Tap on the Server tab. You may then single tap in each entry field including, Server name , Address , Port , User name , and Password . Enter login information for access to a VAST or ST7501 server. When done, click the Add button to recruit the server, and repeat the process to add more. A keypad will prompt whenever you tap on an entry field. All cameras managed by the server will be available in the camera queue. You may then place them onto the iViewer Layout pages. 2-3-3. After you selected all cameras and servers, click on the Live button to turn to the Live window.

NOTE: When inserting cameras, ensure that you start from the first screen. There are dots above the Dock showing the number of available live view screens and your current position. There are 12 screens available, and each can contain 6 camera view cells. You may mistakenly move to a different screen by swiping your finger tip across the screen.

2-4. Enter the Layout page by a single tap. 2-4-1. When in the Layout page, tap on the Camera Select button.

2-4-2. When in the Layout page, tap on the Camera Select button. Select either a Camera Group or a Server on the selection wheel. Tap Done to leave this page.

2-4-3. All cameras within a Camera Group or under a VAST server will be listed at the bottom. You may drag left or right to select a camera if you have many on the list. 2-4-4. Place your finger on a camera's image (snapshot) and drag it across the screen into any of the 6 view cells. When all view cells are populated, flip the screen to the left to open up empty positions on the next screen. You can also use the Add to Layout button to place all cameras that are currently in queue onto the the Layout page. Note that you do not need to save the layout. When done with layout, tap the Live button on the upper left of the screen to return to the Live window. Use the Remove All button

to remove all cameras from the screen. Use the Refresh button to

refresh the connection statuses with the cameras on screen. This message means that there are no cameras in queue. Tap on the Camera Select button to place individual cameras or VAST server(s) in queue. NOTE: You can register duplicate cameras onto the layout page. You can not modify the connection parameters of connected cameras. If parameters have been changed, e.g., IP address, you need remove, and then insert the camera again.

2-5. Double tap on a camera view cell opens a full view window. Double tap on a Full View window returns you to the Live window. Five functional buttons are available on the screen: PTZ: provides zoom, pan and tilt control for cameras that come with PTZ mechanisms, such as a speed dome camera. ePTZ: provides ePTZ control for cameras with a live view that is not showing the full of its video feeds (such as a regional view from a Fisheye camera). You can move the focus by finger-swiping in all directions, zoom in/out to explore the regions within a wide angle view. This function window is especially applicable to Fisheye cameras. Fisheye: provides access to the options specific to Fisheye cameras. Playback: searches and plays recorded video footages on a VAST or ST7501 server by which the camera is managed. Snapshot: saves the current view as a jpeg. To leave a full view window, double tap the screen. Rotate your iPad to view a live video in a portrait or landscape orientation. The video rotates accordingly.

IMPORTANT!
1. The functions above only appear in a Full View window. 2. The PTZ function takes effect only if your cameras come with PTZ mechnical design, such as a speed dome camera. 3. The ePTZ function also depends on which video stream is being viewed by the iViewer. If a a video stream is already showing the full field of view, you can not utilize the ePTZ function to move to an area of interest. However, the zoom in/out function still works. 4. To enable PTZ or ePTZ functions, tap the button, and the button will turn blue. 5. To disable PTZ and ePTZ functions, tap the button again, and the button will turn white.

PTZ Screen Use the onscreen buttons to pan, tilt, zoom in/ out, or return to the home position. You may also exert PTZ control using your fingers to scroll, zoom in, or zoom out.

ePTZ Screen Use your fingers to zoom in/out or swipe to quickly change the view angle and move to an area of interest. Tap the ePTZ button to enable, and tap the button again to stop the ePTZ function.

Fisheye The Fisheye page is specific for the Fisheye cameras. Mount Type: Select a mount type that matches the physical installation of your Fisheye camera. These options, Ceiling, Wall, Floor, provide view angles and displays that meet your deployment purpose. For example, a Wall-mount type enables a panoramic display with a long rectangular field of view suitable for monitoring a long alley. View Type: 1O: The orignal oval view. Note that you can not exert the ePTZ function in this mode. 1R: The Regional view. You can exert ePTZ functions in this mode using finger swipes to move to a different view area, or zoom in/out on a view area. 1P: The Panoramic view displays a long stripe of an all round view. You can rotate the image horizontally using finger swipes. See below for an example. Tap on the Fisheye button to finish the configuration and return to the Full View window.

Snapshot A tap on the Snapshot button produces a still image copy of the current video feed and automatically places it in the photo album in the jpeg format.

Playback

The Search function allows you to retrieve a recorded video from a VAST or ST7501 server where the recording took place. IMPORTANT: The presumption is that you already know a recorded video does exist for a specific point in time, and by a specific camera. Duration Minutes : Select a number to determine how long is the playback. For example, if you select a time as today's 9:15 AM and the Duration Minutes as "1," then the playback will start from 9:15 and stop at the 9:16 video clip. Time Selection: Use the selector wheel to pinpoint a specific point in time in order to retrieve a piece of recorded video. Tap the Done button to open the Playback window and begin playback. The Playback window provides control over the selected video footage. You can tap on the forward and backward buttons several times to increase or decrease the playback speed. Tap on the Time button to return to the Time Selection window. Tap on the Live button to return to the Live View window.

III. Other Functions

Editing an Existing Server or Cameras On a Live view window, tap on the Camera Select button to enter the Configuration window.

The Configuration page for existing servers will display. Ignore this page and tap on the List (#) button.

Tap the Edit button.

From here you can delete an existing entry, tap on the button in front of a server. The button will change to the button, and a Delete button will appear on the right. Tap Delete to remove an existing entry.
