the perfect Bicol Express. With Smarts data services, check-in anytime and anywhere. 4. TOKYO, JAPAN Tokyo is as metropolitan as cities get, but that's not to say you won't enjoy your stay in Japan's capital. Getting from point A to point B is not a problem, thanks to the Shinkansen train, which zips 320 miles between Tokyo and Osaka in as short as 138 minutes. Result: more time to do touristy stuff like visiting the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation or dining at Shinjuku's Robot Restaurant. Remember not to tip, though; the Japanese think it's a bit insulting. With so many picture-perfect moments, upload and share your photos with friends on Facebook, no need to worry about bill shock since Smart has a $10 per day at rate roaming GPRS offer for unlimited usage. Just log on to Docomo and enjoy unlimited data roaming usage. 5. MACAU, CHINA Opulent hotels-slash-casinos; old-meets-new, East-meets-West party places; and diverse cultures mark the spot for Asia's "city that never sleeps." Macau is also famous for its daytime distractions, the most exhilarating of which is a 233-meter bungee jump off the Macau Tower. Whether its a the view or adventure, share to your hearts delight with unlimited roaming by logging on to Hutch or 3 Macau and enjoy a at rate of $10 only with Smart.

GOOD WORK MERITS A PAT ON THE BACK, A STRICT DIET DESERVES SOME SWEETS, BUT WEEKS FILLED WITH OVERTIME NEED TO BE COMPENSATED BY MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE MALL.
Every so often, you need to give yourself a well-earned reward that makes the word awesome come to mind. Like a long-planned, out-of-town adventure. Along with the best travel companions to have - a smartphone to capture every moment, and a reliable network to share them all. Start with the Galaxy S4, Samsungs current agship Android device is designed to make your life simpler, richer, and more fun, what with the many software tricks up its sleeve. Theres Eraser Mode when you need to delete moving photobombers. Theres Dual Shot when you want to simultaneously shoot with the front and rear cameras. Theres even a technology that will automatically pause whatever youre watching whenever youre not looking at the screen anymore. Trust us, theres a lot to love about the Samsung Galaxy S4. We suggest that you get it at Smart Postpaids Unli Data Plans, which come with unlimited surng plus free texts and minutes worth of calls to all networks. Thats a full experience right there. We've included two international destinations that allow for roaming services on Smarts Conexus Mobile Alliance partners. 1. PALAWAN Often referred to as the Philippines last frontier, Palawan is home to some of the nest island resorts the world has laid eyes upon. Whether the surreal beauty of the Puerto Princesa Underground River or the islands rock formations, shorelines, and wildlife are seen rsthand, through a coffee table book, or the lens of a tricked- out camera, they remain every bit as memorable. Capture the viewwith you in itwith the Samsung Galaxy S4s dual shot feature. Share the experience as it happens on-the-spot with Facebook and Twitter. 2. BOHOL There's more to Bohol than the iconic Chocolate Hills or the equally popular tarsier, the world's tiniest primate. With so many things to do, sharing the experiences on Twitter comes easy with unlimited surng with Smart. 3. YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH THE NETWORK THAT HAS THE NATIONWIDEST COVERAGE. WITH SMART, YOU WONT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
In blogging, for example, a fast and reliable Internet connection is a mustor Id be left in the dust when theres breaking news. Otherwise, I might as well donate my laptop and nd something else to do. Luckily, theres a network that I can always depend on. I have been traveling more often lately, so much so that I consider the airport my second home, and I have relied on Smart to give me the strongest connections. When I went to Cebu, Smart LTEfaster than 3G speeds to the laymangot me through my coverage of an ASUS launch. I was able to upload pictures and videos without any glitches. When I went to Indonesia for a Samsung forum, I didnt hesitate to avail the at-rate GPRS service at $10 per day for unlimited data roaming usage. Thank the tech gods I didnt use the hotels sucky Internet connection; I was able to live-blog the event. A fast and reliable network is also important even when I simply need to read my Twitter timeline to keep up with the latest news and see whats happening with my friends. No delayedtelecast style for me, thank you very much. Speaking of Twitter, if youre not onboard the microblogging site yet, you may want to consider creating an account. The social network has made connecting with other people, even celebrities and news organizations, easier than ever. Participate in

discussions. Share with other Filipinos why youre voting for a particular candidate in the upcoming Philippine elections with the hashtag #votesmart. Tell your mentor how much you appreciate him or her. Give a shout-out to your mom on Mothers Day. Theres so much you can do on Twitter. Its in the business of connecting people, just as Smart is into making connections stronger. The telco has different packages for those who want to go online, which youll nd within the pages of Move magazine. And dont worry about overcharged bills because Smart has an anti-bill-shock program. Its not only lifes biggest moments that deserve fast, reliable Internet. Even the seemingly small ones do, too. So be with the network that does more so you can live more. Safe travels and happy tweeting!

CHOOSE THE PERFECT GADGET FOR YOU THAT KEEPS YOU CONNECTED AT ALL TIMES

THE SITCH: Sir Ramon, I have a Twitter crush! Were not really friends in real life, so how do I get his attention...without looking OA or papansin? THE MOVE: Let your own Twitter personality shine through. Tweet about things that are genuinely interesting to you, like the sound of birds and One Direction. You dont have to tweet about NBA just because your crush likes LeBron James. Establish your intriguing and interesting online presence... and soon enough, he will ask himself, Who is this charming girl again? Should I DM her now? Bottomline, tweet as much as you can. THE SMART SOLUTION: If mobile Internet fees stop you from doing so, then make sure you have the SmartNet app in your phone. Its available on the AppStore and Google Play.

THE SITCH: I just reconnected with an old crush on Facebook. But I dont want to message him right away, because Im conservative like that. What do you think is the best way to catch his attention? THE MOVE: I dont think theres anything wrong with messaging guys rst, but if youre uncomfortable with that, then I have three words for you: Strategic Facebook Posting. This means, nd out the time hes most likely online then post anything around that time. This doubles the chances of him liking your photo about cute kitties or girly status updates. Also, I suggest you go over his interests in his About Page, and look for a common one that you share. Then, post something about that same interest and who knows maybe hell reply with a, Wow! You also like Ramon Bautista? Can I have your number? Can we go out on a date? Well never know. Relationships these days always start with some small stroke of online miracle. THE SMART SOLUTION: Of course, stalking his online activities wouldnt be possible if youre not connected all the time. That sounds expensive... but not with SmartNet app. Its a mobile app that allows you to be on Facebook 24/7. So go on, install the app, and be merry!

SMART LTE POCKET WIFI

(P2,000 CASHOUT UNDER SMART BRO PLAN 1749)

THE SITCH: I broke up with my ex years ago. I see him on Yahoo! Messenger all the time and I dont know how to talk to him. I want us to be friends again. THE MOVE: Its tricky to message him out of the blue, so I suggest subtle maneuvers rst. Change your YM status to a song or a movie line that youre both familiar with. This will make him think that youre making parinig. Then, after a while, buzz him and say Hey. How are you? Dont drop any I miss yous rst. Just be casual in the conversation, and chat everyday if you can. This brings back the consistent communication thingie that you had back in the day. Its best if youre connected to YM all the time, so you can catch him every time hes online. THE SMART SOLUTION: I recommend that you install SmartNet in your phone. SmartNet allows 24/7 Yahoo Messenger fun on Android phones for free, plus unlimited Yahoo Mail whatever OS you may have. Trust me, its the fastest and easiest way to his heart.

GINO'S TOP 5 ADVENTURES

CHOOSE YOUR OWN
LAGO DE ORO AND NUVALI You have no idea how much I would like to go to the wake park right now which I can't, because I tore my ACL. But if I could I really would. I would give up so much just to go back. Lately I've become more or less like an adrenaline junkie of sorts, and wake boarding is really quite a rush. CARAMOAN I went to Caramoan last yearthe whole Survivor experience. There were about 15 to 20 of us. We sort of had this Facebook group called something like, "Adventure Club" so that whoever wants to join in on a random adventure [can just tag along]. It was mostly island hopping but Caramoan was pretty cool. The travel time is really long but it's worth it. PALAWAN Palawan was not, in a sense, an adventure. It wasn't like, "Oh my god, I'm gonna die!!" but like, "Oh my god, it's beautiful!!" On the rst and second days, it was the usual island-hopping, on a rented boat. On the third day I rented a jet ski. I didn't even know that you could do that. You could really go up close to the rock formations, and go to where the corals are. There was this one point in Palawan where there's a gap, and it's the ocean na talaga. We went to that, jumped off and we were like, "Aaah we're in open water!! It was nice. You just take in the sights. was the time when badminton wasnt as cool, so everybody was making fun of us. After that, I started getting into basketball, and in the past 2 1/2 years Ive really gotten into wake boarding. Where do you usually wakeboard? When I was starting out, the nearest wake park was Lago de Oro in Batangas. Its a three-hour drive. What I would do was leave on a Sunday, around 6am, Ill get there at 9, then ride the whole day from 9-6, then Ill drive home. Eventually, they opened up a wake park in Nuvali, Republic Wake Park in Sta. Rosa. I would ride around twice a week, driving after the show from Manila for about 1 to 1/2 hours. CWC is still pretty good. Its just far. To get there its an 8- to 9-hour trip. Wed y for about 30 minutes but obviously its not that nancially viable. What do you like about traveling? Im a rm believer that whenever you travel you always learn something new. Its the most fun teacher that you can ever have. You cant ever go wrong with traveling. Take it from me. Im a homebody, I hate being uncomfortable, but the minute you step out of your comfort zone and start doing things out of the box, traveling and doing adventures, thats when you start realizing, I need this. It makes me feel alive. BORACAY Believe it or not, last year was my rst leisure trip to Boracay. All my previous trips were for work. We did a lot of things, also, because they have a lot of water sports. They have the banana boat there, the ying sh, the ATV thing. You name it, all the options in the Diamond Water list, nagawa na namin (laughs). In Boracay we have this one location that not a lot of people know about. We rent out a boat and ask to be taken to the area near Shangri-La. Once we get there, it's literally just me and whoever I'm with, and a stretch of beach that's completely isolated. MOUNT PINATUBO This one, I can't believe I got to do this. On our three-hour walk up, it was normal. You get tired, it was hot and you sweaty, but it was worth it. I got to the peak of Mount Pinatubo and it was Coron all over again. It was so beautiful! The peak looked like the Swiss Alps, with ash covering the tip of the volcano. While we were swimming in the mouth of the volcano, it started pouring like crazy. There was a river on the way there that got ooded. A man even got injured because he got carried away by the current when he tried to cross it. So we had to go around a different path. This time, it was like, You slide on your butt, or you die. You have to sit to slide while holding on to vines, because if you didn't, you would really just fall down and tumble to your death. I looked up and found that our guide was so far ahead because he had to help someone who was having trouble going down. We spent about ve to six hours in the rain, feeling cold and all muddied. The minute we got down, though, I got to look up at the face of the mountain and I thought, I can't believe I actually did that! This experience actually made me want to climb mountains more. I really had to go out of my comfort zone for this.

Up until two years ago, RX DJ Gino Quillamor spent his weekends in front of the computer or at the mall. Now this homebody-turned-traveler tells us about his TOP five adventures.
We catch up with Gino right after his morning show with Chico and Delamar, The Morning Rush. We're at the RX 93.1 conference room and he is discussing TripIt, an app he says is quite helpful for gathering all your travel info in one place. For the rest of the year, he has about four destinations listed: Korea, Dumaguete, Siquijor, and Boracay. Quite a number of places for a self-confessed former homebody and geek. We traveled a lot, as a family, when I was young but to safe destinations: Japan, Hong Kong, Macaunever like, the wilderness. I was eventually exposed to the outdoors but I hated the sun... hated, hated the sununtil wakeboarding. When I started wakeboarding, I didn't mind getting dark at all, I didn't mind the heat. And I just started loving everything else, like going to the beach. How does this adrenalinejunkie prepare for a trip? For wakeboarding and other adventures like beach trips, you just get a rash guard, board shorts and sunblock, then you're good to go. You bring your gear with you and your car. As for other longer trips, my mom always gives me this kit of medicines to add to my stuff. How unprepared I usually am is how prepared she always is (laughs). I cannot go on an adventure without my phone. I'm not ready to completely disconnect. This self-confessed geek also admits to lugging around his gadgets when the trip has some sort of downtime. I'm still a techieI bring my laptop whenever I travel. I'm very much into video games and comic books. As a gamer, you're always looking for an edgeI always look for a faster connection. Plus, I need to check my email to answer letters for my weekly column when Im out of town. Thank goodness theres Smart Bros Power Plug-It, which can reach speeds up to 12Mbps. I just plug it in and Im instantly connected. After all, Im really a city boy by nature and I have to be updated with whats going on. When he cant bring his laptop, hes armed with his LTE-capable smartphone under Smart Postpaids Unli Data Plan. Gino says he cant count how many times it's saved him from missing deadlines or just simply updating his social media accounts. I'm the type who regularly updates. I use Twitter a lot. I'm on Facebook, but it's private. When I was in Palawan, I was taking photos with my Lifeproofed phone while snorkeling. It can go to about 10 feet. I also use Instagram. The nice thing about it is that you can share it with friends, and at the same time it's like a storage for memories. You scroll down on your Instagram photos and you get a timeline of how your life was, what you were busy with, what you were seeing. With an unlimited data plan, updating is never a problem anywhere in the Philippines. Like Gino, you too can go on Twitter or Instagram anytime you want. Read on to nd out the best adventures Gino has experienced and why its never too late to have your own blast of a trip! Have you really been into sports when you were young? Actually, no. I wasnt really allowed to go out. My mom has always been so ridiculously strict. She had three boys, and its ironic because usually its like, Bahala kayo sa buhay niyo but it was the complete opposite with my mom. I actually happened to start doing sports when I was in high school. What sports were you into? I used to be a swimmer, when I was in grade school. My two older brothers would compete for the National Swimming Team and I was on that path also. But then we moved to Iloilo and the competitive level there was a lot less than here in Manila, at least at that time. I went into sports again when I was in third year high school. I joined the badminton varsity. That

LIVE WARM, LIVE LOUD, LIVE MEANINGFUL

LIVE MORE
A MAN FROM CHILE PROMOTES FILIPINO WARMTH

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SEVERAL ROLES IN LIFE, GETTING MORE DONE OUT OF EACH DAY CAN BE BETTER ACCOMPLISHED, SIMPLY BY SWITCHING TO ONE GOOD NETWORK.

Juggling all three passions is no mean feat, but add the responsibilities and joys of being a husband and father, and one can appreciate the scope of Carlos abilities. Currently a partner at Chavez, Miranda & Aseoche Law Ofces, hes also joined three other photographers to set up Penthouse Studio, a professional boutique outt in Makati City. Meanwhile, Lucille is in the process of launching an independent album with 11 original songs created in collaboration by all the band members.

Smart has made compared to his previous mobile service. I had been keeping the postpaid service Id had since 1997 solely because I wanted people to still have a way to contact me even after years of not getting together. I held on to my old number so I just let myself, sadly, suffer from bad service from unhelpful customer service to choppy calls to bad signal to no signal at all. Its a different story now, and its not just for Carlo; pleased with Smarts service, hes convinced his wife and law rm colleagues to make the switch. From the inside of my house where I didnt even have signal before while I was subscribed to my previous provider to the middle of the sea somewhere in the Visayas where I recently went, I have signal, and that alone is a big difference.

LEGALLY MULTI-TALENTED
Does the law rock? Just ask Don Carlo Ybaez. A trial lawyer by profession, Carlo Ybaez is also a bassist for local grunge and hard rock band, Lucille. When hes not ripping riffs, Carlo indulges in a softer creative pursuit as a portrait photographer.

With all these activities, I rely on my mobile service for connectivity. It helps me do my work because I have my email, and people, especially our clients with urgent needs, are able to reach me. Im even able to enrich my music with my music-writing apps, shares this multi-talented lawyer. A Smart subscriber since December last year, Carlo also shares how he appreciates the difference resonates with a person like him. 24 hours never seem enough! But no matter how busy it gets, I try to knock off work as early as possible to make time for the things that matter to me more than anything my faith, quality time with my wife and family, my health, for example. He has been a happy Smart Innity subscriber since 2011. I got disenchanted and frustrated with my old mobile provider. A lot of things, even relationships, got compromised by delayed messages, and I was becoming disgruntled. For a pragmatic and intellectual man, the decision

Ask Roberto L. Mayorga, Ambassador of Chile in the Philippines, what stands out most to him about Filipinos, and hell quickly point out the calidad humana.
In my two and a half years of staying here, I have observed that Filipinos have what we call calidad humana human compassion, humanity, kindness of spirit. In a world torn by conict and hardships, these are the very qualities that make Filipinos stand out. In fact, the Filipino qualities of kindness and compassion have so inspired Ambassador Mayorga that he started Calidad Humana, a campaign to promote the best of the Filipino personality, and to share the Filipino calidad humana with the rest of the world. Partnering with top Philipines universities, Ambassador Mayorga has launched Smiles for the World, a national photo essay competition on calidad humana. It will select and award the photos that best depict the Filipino capacity to manage lifes challenges with cheerfulness and fortitude. The competition is jointly supported by the Embassy of Brazil, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and other private entities, along with his mobile service provider Smart Communications. Open to all Filipinos of all ages, the competition will accept entries until April 30, 2013. Given his deep, personal involvement with the Calidad Humana campaign, one wonders how Ambassador Mayorga manages his regular duties to strengthen political, economic, and cultural relationships between Chile and the Philippines. He reveals his dependence on his Smart iPhone 5 to stay connected all the time via calls, messages, emails, Internet browsing, among others. During the morning I focus on the administrative work, and I stay in contact with Chile, to update my colleagues constantly on the important issues happening in the Philippines. In the afternoons and evenings I attend meetings and events. When I have some free time I enjoy playing tennis. As both a partner of Smart for his personal advocacy and a bona de Smart subscriber, the Chilean envoy expresses appreciation for the relationship. I appreciate the high professional level of Smarts team, particularly their commitment to offer better services to their clients like myself. He adds, it is an honor for me to have Smart as a partner in preserving and promoting the Filipino calidad humana, and through Smiles for the World, to send around the world photos of the Filipino smile and show abroad the friendship and hospitality of the people of this country.

They say to know your purpose in life, you must know who you are, why youre here, and where youre going. You must make sure there is a meaning to the life that you live and a higher purpose to what you take pains to do. He describes how much the Live More message of his mobile provider Smart
