Overview This CD contains the installation modules for 4 programs : STAAD.Pro 2004, STAAD .etc 5.0, STAAD.dto 1.0 and SectionWizard. The STAAD.etc and SectionWizard progr ams have been included in this CD for the benefit of those users who have purcha sed these programs in addition to STAAD.Pro. The programs are compatible with Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP or higher. They do not work on Windows 3.1 or DOS. They can be best viewed on a system wi th a display setting of at least 1024X768. Normally, a start up screen will appear when the CD is placed in the CDROM drive . If you do not see that screen, please run SPROCD.EXE which is located on the r oot folder of the CD. You may do this by clicking on the SPROCD.EXE program usin g Windows Explorer. The minimum system requirements are Pentium or equivalent pr ocessor, 128 MB RAM (256 or more recommended), SVGA display with 1024x768 pixels resolution and 256 colors (High 16 bit color preferred), sound card and speake r, and atleast 1 GB storage space. The various options on the title screen are explained in the Getting Started man ual. ============================================================================== 2. Installing the Programs Stand-alone and network/corporate license versions can both be installed from th is CD. If you have purchased the network/corporate license version, an additonal CD containing the license manager installation is also supplied. To install the programs on this CD, select the "Install STAAD.Pro .." option fro m the title screen, and follow the prompts. After the installation is completed, reboot your computer to make sure the settings take effect. If you have not purchased STAAD.etc and/or SectionWizard, those programs will wo rk only in the demonstration mode. ============================================================================== 3. Running the Programs Click on the appropriate icons of the individual programs from the "STAAD.Pro 20 04" program folder. Please see the manuals for instructions if necessary. ============================================================================== 4. On line Manuals The manuals for all the programs are installed along with the programs. These ma nuals can be accessed from the program group folder, as well as from within the Help menus of the individual programs. They are in HTML format and can be viewed

using any standard web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. ==============================================================================
