ALL xx

Press this button to manually set all relay channels to ON or OFF simultaneously. The button label changes to the current status of ALL CHANNELS only All On or All Off.

HARDWARE INSTALLATION
1. Connect a 5V supply to the board using 2.1mm jack or via the 2 pin terminal connector. To avoid damage, ensure correct polarity : +ve to Vcc and ve to GND. Connect USB 2.0 cable to your computer and Hivitronix Controller board. When connected for the first time, the board will initiate communication with your computer system to recognize it as FTDI USB device. It is normal for few relays to toggle during this operation and/or power connection. Connect your load as shown in the diagram below.

TROUBLESHOOT
PWR Green LED not lit Low voltage, wrong power polarity and/or loose power supply connections. Ensure proper polarity and/or tighten loose connections. Check voltage if it is up to 5VDC. Relays toggle when power is applied or USB is connected FTDI chip connection setup. No need for action/correction. No device detected Error message Improper or loose USB terminal. No power supply . Check power supply connection. Reconnect USB cable. Restart Hivitronix user interface. No response when some ON/ OFF manual button is pressed Relay channel in currently intended status. ALL xx button has been used. Click READ button to update Erratic Channel action response/mismatch Loose USB connection. Communication setting (e.g. baud rate mismatch) or PC processor very slow. Al xx button has been used. Click READ button to get correct status. Reconnect USB cable or restart user interface. Check if PC is 32 bit system.

Click on UPDATE button. If you see board description, your board is ready for use. Skip this step if you do not want to change preset board behavior. If you are a professional and you want to set parameters, connect the board. Open the FT_Prog_v1.10 folder and double click on FT_PROG icon to open FTDI chip programmer. On the menu, click EEPROM>>Devices>>Scan & Parse. Set your description and communication parameters as required. Close FT_Progv1.10. SOFTWARE OPERATION
Input fields and control boards description is as follows:

TIME ON
Each relay channel can be set to turn on at a preset time of day in hr:min:sec (24hr) format using the spin box(up/down) arrow. Once set, click the UPDATE button to start operation.

DURATION
This is an alternative to using TIME ON operation. Each relay channel can be set to turn on at a preset duration from present clock time in hr:min:sec (24hr) format using the spin box(up/down) arrow. Once entered, click the UPDATE button to start operation.

This button is used to manually toggle each relay channel to ON or OFF position. The display on the button changes to the current ON/OFF status of the relay and the corresponding channel LED lights when activated.

POWER SUPPLY
This board requires an external 5V 500mA (minimum) power supply via the 2.1mm DC jack or 2 pin terminal connector. Extend power using the 2 pin connector. Do not use a USB port to power this board. PWR is shown with green LED.

UPDATE
Press this button to send the current data on Hivitronix Software Interface to the board. This button is also use to refresh the software for any hardware changes. Discovers the connected board when pressed.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
1. Download .NET framework for windows systems from http://msdn.microsoft.com/enus/netframework/aa569263 . Perform hardware installation. See instruction below. Proceed when USB device ready is shown. Unzip Hivitronix Software to a suitable folder on your system. Note the folder location. Open Hivitronix Software folder and double click on Device Interface icon to start software. Click on RESET button to clear board memory.

RESET
Resets all relay channels to default OFF position when pressed. Clears the internal data on chip. Software buttons may be temporarily disabled during RESET

READ
Press this button to read internal data on Hivitronix USB Relay Controller when module status is unknown. The internal data (STATUS) is displayed on the manual ON/OFF toggle buttons. Use this button when ALL xx and ON/OFF toggle action has been completed to get current output data/status.
