Changeling RCC
(Version 1.01 - Last Modified: 01/01/2006)

Description
The Changeling race evolved from a highly adaptable animal that had spread across its world and into many different ecosystems. Constantly moving and migrating, the Changelings' ancestor needed a way to quickly adapt to new predators and a way to pass these defenses onto others of its kind. Thanks to a quirk in its genetic structure, the Changelings' ancestor was able to rapidly alter its genetic structure and create new defenses depending on the kind of enemy it was facing. Sometimes the creature would need to be light and fast for predators on the plains, sometimes it would need to be strong and tough for predators in the mountain, and sometimes it would need to be stealthy for predators that stalked at night. Eventually, this process of adapting became less general and focused more on being faster and stronger then its predators. Since the Changelings' ancestor could instantly change and defeat the predators that hunted it, all other forms of adaptation disappeared. Eventually these creatures developed intelligence and became the creatures now known as Changelings, even though they have only a limited ability to change their bodies.

2 Unfortunately for the rest of the galaxy, the Changelings' home world was a tough and brutal place and when the Changelings clawed their way to the top of the food chain, they became incredibly powerful warriors in the process. On their own world, the Changelings still required their intelligence and technology to defeat their natural predators, but on other worlds, the Changelings quickly discovered that even the the speed and strength of their original form was often enough to defeat any opponent. Once the Changelings were first discovered by the galactic community, their natural instincts to migrate and travel took over and many Changelings left their home world to see what the galaxy was like. The Changeling's were powerful and charismatic and those that went out into the galaxy were able to quickly amass fortunes and power, but even the lowliest of the Changelings were deeply sure of their own power and position in the galaxy. The Changelings had a long racial history of struggling to compete for the top stop of their planet's food chain, but once they had reached that pedestal, they were, as a race, confident that only a truly superior being could defeat them. This perception was reinforced in every facet of the Changeling's culture and society, which led to a racial prejudice against all the races in the galaxy that could not beat them. One Changeling that went into the galaxy and was successful was King Cold, who ruled a large organization with his two sons, Freiza and Cooler. King Cold's organization was built around the sale of planets for use as potential colonies. Races looking for the perfect world to colonize would approach King Cold's organization, who would send out scouts to survey and locate a planet matching the needs of the client and if that planet was already occupied, King Cold's organization would "cleanse" it and make it ready for sale to client. Freiza, King Cold's youngest son, was in charge of a region of the galaxy that included Earth, Namek, and the Saiyans home world. Like the rest of King Cold's organization, Freiza ran a racially diverse organization, but he was delighted by the savagery and raw power of the Saiyans and used them for most of his cleansing missions, while reaping the rewards that the low cost operations yielded. However, Freize was ambitious, arrogant, and thoroughly evil. At the first sign of rebellion he destroyed the Saiyan's home world, killing all but a handful of them. Later, he heard of the mystical Dragon Balls and their power to grant any wish. Seeing his chance to usurp his father, Freiza traveled to the planet Namek to claim them. Fortunately for the galaxy, Freiza was defeated at the hands of the first Super Saiyan in generations, Goku, and he was forced to return to his father in shame. However, when King Cold traveled to Earth looking for revenge, he and his revived son were killed by Trunks, a powerful Saiyan from the future. Later, Cooler also came to Earth and died there. Ending the immediate interest of any Changeling in Earth, but they are still out there, even if King Cold's organization will likely not survive the death of him and his sons.

Racial Statistics

Racial Type: Supernatural Creature - Minor Alignment: Any, but many tend to be selfish and arrogant since their relatively power and strength allow them to get most things they want from less powerful races. Attributes: o I.Q.: 3D6 o M.E.: 3D6 o M.A.: 4D6+3 o P.S.: 4D6+12 * o P.P.: 3D6+4 o P.E.: 5D6 * o P.B.: 3D6 o Spd: 2D4x10+20 o * PS and PE are considered supernatural Size: 4' to 8 (1.2 to 2.4 m) Weight: 180 to 280 lbs (81.7 to 127 kg) M.D.C.: PE attribute x4 +4D6 per level of experience in magic rich areas or M.D.C. environments. S.D.C.: 5D6x10+40, +1D4x10 per level of experience. Hit Points: PE attribute x4 +3D6 per level of experience. Natural Armor Rating: 10 M.D.C. Armor Rating: 10 Average Life Span: 450 years P.P.E.: 3D6

I.S.P.: ME attribute x3, +3D6 per level of experience starting at level 2, this is in addition to the I.S.P. gained from any O.C.C. or Martial Art Training. Psionic Powers: All Changelings can select two Sensitive Psionic powers at first level and they count as Minor psychics. Natural Abilities:
1.

Prehensile Tail: All Changelings have a lizard-like tail that gives them the following bonuses: +2 to strike and parry with the tail and +10% to climbing when the tail is used. The tail is strong enough to hold the Changeling's weight, and it can carry a quarter as much as the Changeling can.

2.

Transformation: At first level, the Changeling automatically has the Ki Manipulation technique of Transformation. The Changeling gains the ability to transform one additional time at levels 4, 8, 12, and 15. The exact appearance of the Changeling's transformation is determined the first time that the Changeling transforms and cannot be altered after that, however, they are almost always

5 hereditary, so a Changeling's transformations will be similar to those of its parent's. The transformations granted by this ability stack with the normal Transformation technique that the Changeling selects as a Ki Manipulation technique, although the bonuses are different. If the Changeling selects the Transformation ki manipulation technique, then the order of the transformations becomes important and the Changeling transforms in the order of the levels that these abilities were chosen. For example, if a tenth level Changeling had selected the Transformation technique at levels 5 and 10, then the order of their transformations would be as follows: racial transform (from 1st level, takes 1D6 melee actions), racial transform (from 4th level, takes 2D6 melee actions), selected transform (from 5th level, takes 3D6 melee actions), racial transform (from 8th level, takes 4D6 melee actions), and selected transform (from 10th level, takes 5D6 melee actions).

Duration: Permanent unless ended by the Changeling. The actual transformation process requires 1D6 consecutive melee actions and an additional 1D6 melee actions for each previous completed transformation. For example, the first transformation would require 1D6 melee actions, the second would require 2D6 melee actions, and the third would require 3d6 melee actions. Bonuses: +15 to PS, PP, and PE, +20 to Spd, +2D6x10 to ISP, +2 attacks per melee, +2 to all combat rolls, +1 to M.D.C. Armor Rating, double the Changeling's M.D.C., and all Ki Manipulation Techniques except Power Increasing Techniques are used as if the Changeling had +3 levels of experience. ISP: 25 per transformation Note: Determine variable numbers separately for each available transformation and they remain the same every time this ability is used. For example, the time to transform and the ISP bonus for the Changeling's first transformation is always the same, but is determined separately from the second transformation. Also, due to the nature of the Changeling, the standard Transformation ki manipulation technique has a duration of "Permanent unless ended by the Changeling" when used by the Changeling.

Experience Level: Average experience level of 1D6+2. Combat Skills: Starts with 3 attacks per melee (this is in addition to Hand-toHand combat skills), +2 to strike, +3 to initiative, and +4 to roll with punch, fall, and impact. Damage: As per Supernatural Strength. Penalties: Although they have no physical penalties, most Changelings are extremely prejudiced against people and races that they consider to be weaker then them. Until a person has demonstrated their strength or power to a Changeling, they will automatically consider them to be inferior. This applies even to Changelings of a good alignment, although it is not as pronounced as in evil Changelings. R.C.C. Skills:

Allies: Changelings are powerful, charismatic warriors and they have many friends in the interstellar community.

Enemies: Although they are respected and count many races among their friends, most Changelings have amassed a large number of enemies, mostly from their own attitudes towards what they consider to be "lesser" races.
