Jacob Klionsky 6 January 16, 2013 Compare and Contrast Angkor Wat and The Great Pyramid at Giza

Do you want to go on an extravagant trip this year? Well, I know the two perfect places for you, Angkor Wat and The Great Pyramid at Giza. They are different in many unique ways, but they are also similar in a couple interesting ways. Angkor Wat and the Pyramid at Giza are both historic and also quite fun for tourists to visit. My goal is to interest you to visit both of these wonderful places after youre done reading. Angkor Wat and The Pyramid at Giza are very similar. First of all both of these structures were made by their own leaders. King Suryavarman II (Cambodias King) built Angkor Wat, and the Pharaoh Khufu (Egypts Leader) built the Pyramid at Giza. They also have neighboring temples or pyramids; right next to Angkor Wat is Angkor Thom, a temple city, and next to The Great Pyramid at Giza there are Abu Sir, Saqqarah, and Dasshur. Angkor Wat and The Pyramid at Giza each are also heavily populated tourist sites. In 2006 Angkor Wat attracted 677,00 tourists to visit this great temple, and the Pyramid at Giza was voted as one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World! Did you know that Angkor Wat and The Pyramid at Giza were made for different purposes? Angkor Wat was made as a Hindu Temple (later they changed to Buddhist), and the Great Pyramid at Giza was made as the Pharaoh Khufus tomb. Another difference is the time periods, Angkor Wat was built in the 12th century (900 years ago), and The Pyramid at Giza was built in 2540 B.C (4,500 years ago). Don't under estimate Angkor Wat because its five times younger than the Pyramid at Giza. The high technology of Angkor Wats structure would be amazing if it was built only a hundred years old; for example most of the pillars at Angkor Wat are still standing while supporting its roof that hasnt collapsed either. They also have

very different architectural styles, Angkor Wat has Dravidian and Khmer architecture, and the Pyramid at Giza has Ancient Egyptian architecture. Angkor Wat and The Pyramid at Giza are both very different, but special. Are u still deciding on whether or not to go to Angkor Wat and The Great Pyramid at Giza, youre decision should be easy. Tourists all over the world agree, no place on earth compares to the age of The Pyramid at Giza and the structure technology of Angkor Wat. At first sight of these great structure tourists can only udder out three words, oh my goodness. If you want to udder those three words in pure amazement, visit Cambodia and Egypt.
