Youth/Student Pastor

I am very burdened for the youth in our churches in light of the ever increasing
antagonism toward Christianity in schools (both college and grade school). Many young
people are in danger of being led astray by the secular views that “role models” such as
teachers, professors, movie stars and sports heroes are portraying. The youth need
someone to help them with the difficult questions that arise in the face of the many
conflicting views that are thrust upon them every day. That is why I feel a strong
discipling and education program is needed to prepare the youth for any circumstance as
well as giving them support when they feel no one else cares. I feel that to properly
instruct people with the Word of God you should yourself be prepared and devoted. I am
currently enrolled in the Bachelors of Religion program at Liberty University with a 3.83
GPA. In my first year I was rewarded for my academic success with induction into the
Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society. In my current church I serve as a deacon and
Sunday school teacher. I also help organize our youth activities and Bible studies. I am
very eager to work with different parties in the church in the best interest of the group as
a whole and to prepare my brothers and sisters in Christ as they help to prepare me for the
world we live in.

I am enclosing a copy of my resume for your review as well as a letter of reference. If

more information is needed please let me know and I will get it to you as soon as
possible. I would love to talk about this position with you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you. May
God be with you in this process.

Grace and Peace,

Personal Information: I was born May 7, 1980 in rural North Carolina. I graduated from
Eastern Randolph High School in May of 1998. I am currently enrolled in the Liberty
University Online program for my bachelors of science in religion with a cumulative 3.85
GPA. In my freshman year I was initiated into the Alpha Delta Lambda Honors society
for achieving and holding a scholastic average of 3.5 or better for the year. My wife to
whom I have been married nine years is Susan Hussey. We have three children Abigayle,
Alana, and Britt with three different and unique personalities.

Experience: I am currently serving as a deacon of my home church (Riverside Baptist

Church). I also teach the young married and singles class of between ten to twenty
people. Riverside is a small rural family church with attendance between eighty to one
hundred people in Sunday school and up to one hundred ten in the Worship service. I
enjoy sharing the Gospel in my daily activities at work with coworkers who seem to
show interest or curiosity.

Christian Biography: I received Christ in 1988 at eight years old at Riverside Baptist
Church during Bible School week and was baptized at Maple Springs Baptist. I wandered
away from God in my middle teen years and did not return until my early twenties at the
urging of God through adversity and the urging of the Holy Spirit in my life. I use the
circumstances of that time to be a witness for God and His provision and compassion for
those called by His Son, Jesus’, name.

Doctrinal Statement:
1. One true eternal God who has revealed himself as a Trinity in unity, Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. Three Persons that are equal in nature, distinct in person, and subordinate in
duties and yet one God.

2. The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is the divine inspired Word of
God, in its’ original manuscripts and literary genre, to be true. It is the infallible, inerrant,
authoritative guide on all matters of faith and practice in daily living.

3. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is fully God and fully man possessing both
deity and humanity united in one person, without division of the person or confusion of
the two natures. He took upon Himself our nature, being conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary; He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the
sin of the world; He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; He
ascended into heaven in that body glorified, where He is now our interceding High Priest;
He will come again personally and visibly to set up His Kingdom and to judge the quick
and the dead.

4. Man was created in the image of God but fell into the bondage of sin, and in that sense,
is lost; this is true of all men, and except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom
of God; salvation is the free gift of God’s grace through faith alone, in Christ alone, who
His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, therefore not dependent upon
church membership, intermediaries, sacraments or works of righteousness to attain or
sustain it.

5. The Church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body;
its mission is to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among
all nations; it will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air when He appears to set up His
Kingdom.

These are the five fundamental principles of my faith that I will not compromise or deny.
