We would like to extend this gratitude to the team of diligent people who have worked very hard to finish this report. Our group membership consists of 4 students which are Muhamad Zaimul Umam Bin Muktar, Nik Muhammad Azlan Bin Mohd Ezazee, Khairil Anwar Bin Khalid and Amirul bin Yaakub. 1.0 Introduction During the university times students were taught by variety of knowledge disciplines while pursuing extra-curricular activities. This is because university is an important social institution and is highly regarded for producing educated people and potential leaders. One of the activities that they should contribute while in university is campus politics and students also follow the current political development. It is part of the campus culture that nurtures the individual's leadership and under organization with product from learning sessions in various forms of disciplines. In our world today, students are more interested in political issues; therefore, it not uncommon to find some of the students who actively participate in politics. Many students even have expressed their loyalty to or enrol themselves in their interested with political parties. So these participations of students can affect the political future and other social issues in the short term and long term perspectives. 1.1 Background This section will present detailed explanation of inclination of student in political situation, the nature of campus lifestyle which allow the student to involve in politics. 1.1.1 The Current Political Situation in Malaysia Politics can be define as the art or science of influencing people on a civic, or individual level, when there are more than 2 people involved. The students cannot be actively involved in political parties but that does not stop them from discussing political and current matters, (D.S. Najib Tun Razak, 2010). He further elaborated that students should focus on academic matters but they were not totally blocked from understanding the current political scene. Since the day of recent election results, lots of politics in the states of Malaysia are in the state of flux. BN begins their

soul searching ever since that day. Since the formation of BN in 1946, the party had become the backbone of the Malaysian politics. 1.2 Terms of Reference 21 march 2013 Sir Imran Bin Ismail, the BEL422 lecturer from Akademi Pengajian Bahasa, UiTM Perlis, requested a team of students led by Mohamad Zaimul Umam Bin Muktar to conduct a research and prepared the report the inclination of students in politics. This report has to include background information and detailed statistical data with solid findings, and to be concluded and submitted with recommendation on 17 may 2013. The objectives of the report are: 1.2.1 To identify the inclination of students in politics. 1.2.2 To compare interest of politics between male and female students. 1.3 Methods Scope and limitation of the report In conducting this report, various printed resources and published the report on the issue were look into before the data can be analyzed in detail. Besides that, other relevant text references world also used to justify the scope and the focus of this report. 2.0 Finding This section will present findings from the various resources that were used as detailed and extensive references. Table 2.1 below shows the percentage of students that inclination in politics between men and female in campus.

The identification the inclination of students in politics Based on the questionnaire, these are some of the common factor that contribute students to involved in politic.The findings are as below.

INTEREST AMONG STUDENTS IN POLITICS

The first objective is to investigate and identify the interest about politics among students in UiTM Perlis. Graph above show that 40% of male student from the 100 respondents are interest in politics. It was no surprise that the majority of the student agree because most of the male students were more aware about political issue nowadays. As the rest of the male respondents, 10% of them were non-interested in politics. For female students we can see from the graph that 32% of the female students not interest in politics, and the rest of them were interest.

Graph above show that 20% male student from the 100 respondents are influenced by surrounding factor. That the minority of the respondents agree because mostly male students have their own opinion it is 30%. From the graph we can see that 35% of female students are influenced by surrounding factor, and the rest of them 15% not influenced.

Graph above show that 45% male student from the 100 respondents are registered for this PRU and only 5% did not registered. It shown that the majority of the male students were ready to carry their responsibility as a grown up Malaysian citizen. From the graph we can also see that only 27% of female students were registered as a voter for PRU and the other 23% are not registered.

Family influence Most young people, the group in which they are located. If the mother and father of a party they support, they also usually do not have time to consider rationally, they will follow emotionally, sentiment brought family, their parents, " Prof Madya Datuk Dr Samsul Adabi Mamat,May 2013. Usually student interested into politics, when their parent always talk about politic in front of them. From that student curiosity about political issue. So student will find a lot of information about politics to get know more.

Besides, parents asked student to follow them to political talk. So student will decide to support which party better. 2.1.2 Politics Habits Some party, they use money to attract voters to vote their party. This cause make our politics in our country unhealthy. This case also make our country known corrupt country. Demonstration also happen when a corruption happen during General Election. 2.1.3 Student Right Student deserved to speak out their opinion in political issue, because students idea may better than others in professional about politics. Student also can deny or support political idea, as a democracy country. Last year, the amendment of Section 15 of the UUCA would provide space for students to be active in politics, including the possibility of holding office in any political party. (D.S Najib Tun Razak,April 2012) 2.2 The Benefits of Involvement of Student in Politics. This section reveals several benefits of students inclination in politics. 2.2.1 Active citizen. Student involvement in many political benefit and added value to the students themselves. This is because politics is a training ground that is useful to the students before they descended on the community and playing field in the global arena. Involvement in politics means building skills of a student identity. Balance in dividing his time between studying and political will give advantages and positive challenge to this group. Thus, when viewed in a broad and comprehensive scope, undergraduate student politics is a skilled, competitive and adventurous. 2.2.2 Free to talk

They must be allowed to speak out, not good harbored the idea. In fact, students will there is confidence self-when argued in a crowd. 3.0 Conclusion Based on the findings, these are some of the conclusions that can be further looked into for future report. 3.1 It can be concluded male students are more interested than female students in political issue because base on our questionnaire distribute we can see that more than half of male students are interest in political issue. From our findings we can conclude most of male student were registered as a voter. Whereas female students only half of them were registered as a voter. Besides, we can see male students are more aware about current issue that happen in Malaysia. Then, about parental influenced, we can see that only 25% of male respondent were influenced by their family and 75% of female respondent. Lastly, is surrounding influenced only 20% male students and 35% female students were influenced by their surroundings.

4.0 Recommendation The following are some recommendation that can be taken into consideration to address the issue about the interests of student in politics. 1.1 It is recommended that the government should give more expose to female students to attract them in politic. 1.2 It is recommended that student should have their own opinion, to choose any political party and not easily influenced by parent and surrounding. 1.3 It is recommended that students should more aware about current issue that happening around them.
