Responsibilities of an Architect The primary goal of an architect is to create a noble aesthetic creation, keeping in mind that the creation will effect the surroundings and the members living in. That creation is not only meant for the present generation, it also effects the future. The creation in the present will be the point on which the architecture of the future depends.

Architect should have artistic capabilities along with some business skills, it doesnt mean that profit is the chief goal. Thus an architects profession is not a trade or business. The first thing in his mind should be a noble creation along with the satisfaction of the client.

Role of Architect the role of the architect changes during the architecting process, from visionary during the early stages, to translator, designer and critic during the creation of the architecture, to consultant during deployment of the architecture. Throughout, the architect is also playing a vital leadership role.

An architect abstracts the complexity of a system into a manageable model that describes the essence of a system by exposing important details and significant constraints. An architect maintains control over the architecture lifecycle parallel to the projects software development lifecycle. Although an architect may be most visible during the requirements and design stages of a project lifecycle, he or she must proactively monitor the adherence of the implementation to the chosen architecture during all iterations. Architecture on paper is fruitless unless implemented proficiently.

An architect progressively makes critical decisions that define a specific direction for a system in terms of implementation, operations, and maintenance.

An architect creates sustainable building forms. An architect takes the utmost care of the client, so that the client is satisfied.
An architect keeps a steady flow of work, to maintain high standards of his office.

An architect co-ordinates the work of various consultants so as to obtain the desired result with out any delay.

An architect attends to contract, cost planning, and time limit for the completion of the work. An architect should be familiar with the all rules and regulations of the local or other authorities controlling the development of the place in which he is practicing.

An architect should not mislead the contractor by being negligent.
