Dear All, I would like to share some Q & A which was v ery useful for me in resolv ing some issues. Q1 . Patch Application: What do I check to make sure Serv ice Tax patch 4237 36 was applied properly ? A: Check the copy .log, dbrun.log and generate.log in $JA_TOP/$APPLLOG/42397 36 directory . Q2. CUSTOM.pll: Why was my CUSTOM.pll ov erwritten? A: India localization ships a CUSTOM.pll, which has code for some of the functionality to work. Y ou hav e to merge the code in y our CUSTOM.pll with the CUSTOM.pll shipped by localization patches/ patchsets. Q3. PO Receipt: Pending PO Receipt transactions for Serv ice Tax Patch Application?

A. While running JAI_RCV _CHK_PENDING_DELIV ERY .sql, receipts pending for deliv ery with serv ice tax attached ex ist. This check is to identify all the receipts for which deliv ery is pending, so the accounting entries will be sy nchronized. Proceed with subsequent patch application only if it returns the message: "*** NO RECEIPT PENDING FOR DELIV ERY WITH SERV ICE/EXCISE TAX ATTACHED EXISTS, Y OU CAN GO AHEAD WITH PATCH APPLICATION ****"

Q4: Account: Will the account giv en at the time of defining Tax Code will be considered for Serv ice Tax processing? A: The account giv en at the time of defining tax code will not be considered in any of the processing. Four accounts defined at the time of defining the regime for each tax ty pe will be considered. It is adv ised that y ou define separate natural accounts for each of the account ty pe and tax ty pe for ease of reconciliation and reporting. Q5: Serv ice Tax Regimes: Can I define multiple Serv ice Tax Regimes? A: Y ou cannot define multiple Serv ice Tax Regimes.
