II. 1.

SARP SOP and Recommended Demilitarization Process. Does the shop have a SARP SOP? DA PAM 750-1 para 2.5

a. Does the SOP cover all aspects of the SARP process to include the following? Discuss processes found in DoD 4160.21M-1, para 1-16. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) Parts storage? Security of parts? Ordering of parts? When/who/how/security measures.

Accountability of parts ordered? Matching of ordered parts to the demil certificate? Separation of duties. Internal auditing processes.

(8) The small arms inspector has two boxes in the vault. In one box, he will place a copy of all DA Form 5504s that will be used to identify all parts required to repair a weapon. In the other box, he will place all unserviceable/to be demiled weapons parts. Each week, the small arms inspector and another supervisor will match all unserviceable weapons parts with the corresponding work order. Once all weapons parts are accounted for, a demil work order will be generated that lists all unserviceable weapons parts to be demiled. The parts will then be taken to the section that will accomplish the demil process. Immediately, under the direct supervision of a supervisor (preferably not the small arms inspector), each part

will be demiled. The demil work order will be signed by the supervisor and the person accomplishing the demil work. The demil work order and all contributing work orders (those in the box) will be stapled together and filed. 2. This process will allow you to prove, on any closed work order, that all unserviceable weapons parts were properly accounted for and the demil process was accomplished.
