A VERY YOUNG HERO A fluvial procession called Pagoda is a festive day for the townsfolk of Bocaue, Bulacan. It was on July 2, 1993 when the Pagoda, bearing the venerated crosses, capsized and less than 300 persons drowned. A very young boy named Sajid Bulig became a hero that tragic day. He would not have died because he was a good swimmer. He had already swum safely ashore, but he went back when he saw others struggling in the river to survive. He already saves six children. As he was trying to save the seventh, he was hit by a falling wood. It cracked his skull which caused his death.
