Presentation of the Lesson - We, the Filipinos gained our independence because of the patriotism and bravery of our Philippine heroes. - Give examples of our great patriots that you know. - Class, we can be heroes too, even if we are not known. -Heres a story of a young boys heroic act. A VERY YOUNG HERO A fluvial procession called Pagoda is a festive day for the townsfolk of Bocaue, Bulacan. It was on July 2, 1993 when the Pagoda, bearing the venerated crosses, capsized and less than 300 persons drowned. A very young boy named Sajid Bulig became a hero that tragic day. He would not have died because he was a good swimmer. He had already swum safely ashore, but he went back when he saw others struggling in the river to survive. He already saves six children. As he was trying to save the seventh, he was hit by a falling wood. It cracked his skull which caused his death. At the tender age of 13, his bravery was beyond compare. -Rizal, Mabini, Bonifacio, Jacinto, Lopez Jaena, Gregorio Del Pilar, Gen.Luna
