BTS3006C Cables

This topic describes the functions, appearance, assignment of pins, and installation positions of the BTS3006C cables. 5.1 BTS3006C Cable List This topic describes the BTS3006C cable list. The BTS3006C cables are classified into the power cables, PGND cable, transmission cables, signal cables, RF cables, and cables between the BTS3006C and the auxiliary equipment. 5.2 BTS3006C Power Cables and PGND Cables This topic describes the BTS3006C power cables and PGND cables. The BTS3006C power cables consist of the AC power cables, DC power cables, TMA power cables, and fan power cables. The grounding cables consist of the PGND cables in the transmission interface box, the PGND cables in the power interface box, and the external input PGND cables. 5.3 BTS3006C Transmission Cables This topic describes the BTS3006C transmission cables. 5.1 BTS3006C Cable List


This topic describes the BTS3006C cable list. The BTS3006C cables are classified into the power cables, PGND cable, transmission cables, signal cables, RF cables, and cables between the BTS3006C and the auxiliary equipment. DC power cable

Blue: One end connects to NEG (-) wire post of the DSEM. The other end connects to the port of the external integral power system. Black: One end connects to NEG(+) wire post of the DSEM. The other end connects to the port of the external integral power system.

Fan power unit

One end connects to FAN port on the DDRM. The other end connects to the fan.

One end of the cable is connected to the fan before delivery. The other end needs to be installed on site. For the installation method, refer to Installing the Power Cables for the Fans of the BTS3006C/BTS3002E. Two ends of the cables are not connected and need to be installed on site. For the installation method, refer to Installing the PGND Cable of the BTS3006C/ BTS3002E.

PGND cables

External PGND cable

One end connects to the grounding terminal at the rear of a cabinet. The other end connects to the external protection grounding busbar.

Optical fibers for combined cabinets or cabinet groups

One end connects to the SFP-A port and SFP-B port on the DMCM in the main cabinet. The other end connects to the SFP-A port and the SFP-B port on the DMCM in the extension cabinet. One end connects to the OPT port on the DMCM in the main cabinet. The other end connects to the transmission equipment.

One end connects to the DOOR port on the DMCM in the main cabinet. The other end connects to the door status switch at the bottom of a cabinet.

External alarm cable

One end connects to the ALM port on the DMCM in the main cabinet. The other end connects to the alarm port on the auxiliary equipment.

RF cables

1/4-inch RF jumper

One end connects to the antenna port ANTA or ANTB on the DDPM. The other end connects to the feeder of the antenna system when there is no power supply for the TMA. The other end connects to the Bias-Tee when there is power supply for the TMA.

RF signal cable

RF signal cables are classified into the RF transmit and receive signal cables. The RF transmit signal cable connects to the TX port on the DDRM and the corresponding TX port on the DDPM/DDCM. The RF receive signal cable connects to the RX port on the DDRM and the corresponding RX port on the DDPM.

Two ends of the cables are not connected and need to be installed on site. For the installation method, refer to Installing the RF Signal Cables of the BTS3006C/ BTS3002E.

Installation Position One end connects to the DB9 (RS485) alarm port on the external environment alarm box. The other end connects to the bare wire end of the external alarm cable carried by the BTS3006C.

5.2 BTS3006C Power Cables and PGND Cables


This topic describes the BTS3006C power cables and PGND cables. The BTS3006C power cables consist of the AC power cables, DC power cables, TMA power cables, and fan power cables. The grounding cables consist of the PGND cables in the transmission interface box, the PGND cables in the power interface box, and the external input PGND cables. 5.2.1 BTS3006C/BTS3002E AC Power Cables This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E AC power cables. The BTS3006C AC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DPSM. In addition, the BTS3006C AC power cables can be used to send the power interface box to the DPSM AC power module through the 220 V AC and 110 V AC power. 5.2.2 BTS3006C/BTS3002E DC Power Cables This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E DC power cables. The DC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DSEM. The DC power cables are used to supply power from the power interface box to the DSEM in a cabinet. 5.2.3 BTS3006C/BTS3002E Fan Power Cables This topic describes the fan power cable of the BTS3006C/BTS3002E. The fan power cables are used to connect the DDRM and the fan so that power can be supplied to the fan. At the same time, the fan power cables are used to transmit the control signals of in-position detection of the fan, monitoring of the fan status, fan alarms, and speed adjustment. 5.2.4 BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND Cables This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND cables. The BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND cable has the following three types: the external input PGND cable, the PGND cable in the transmission interface box, and the PGND cable in the power interface box. 5.2.5 Equipotential Cable of the BTS This part describes the function, structure, pin assignment, and installation positions of the equipotential cable.

5.2.1 BTS3006C/BTS3002E AC Power Cables


This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E AC power cables. The BTS3006C AC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DPSM. In addition, the BTS3006C

AC power cables can be used to send the power interface box to the DPSM AC power module through the 220 V AC and 110 V AC power.

Functions
The BTS3006C AC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DPSM. In addition, the BTS3006C AC power cables can be used to send the power interface box to the DPSM AC power module through the 220 V AC and 110 V AC power.

Appearance
A DPSM AC power cable is 3 m long. Two ends of the power cable are bare wires. Two connectors are required to be made on site to match the bare wire ends, as shown in Figure 5-1. Figure 5-1 AC power cable

5.2.2 BTS3006C/BTS3002E DC Power Cables


This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E DC power cables. The DC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DSEM. The DC power cables are used to supply power from the power interface box to the DSEM in a cabinet.

Functions
The DC power cables are used to connect the power interface box and the DSEM. The DC power cables are used to supply power from the power interface box to the DSEM in a cabinet.

Appearance
There are two DC power cables. One is blue and the other is black. Two ends of the power cable are OT terminals. You can shorten the length of the power cable based on the actual situation. Figure 5-2 shows the DC power cables. Figure 5-2 DC power cable

5.2.3 BTS3006C/BTS3002E Fan Power Cables


This topic describes the fan power cable of the BTS3006C/BTS3002E. The fan power cables are used to connect the DDRM and the fan so that power can be supplied to the fan. At the same time, the fan power cables are used to transmit the control signals of in-position detection of the fan, monitoring of the fan status, fan alarms, and speed adjustment.

Functions
The fan power cables are used to connect the DDRM and the fan so that power can be supplied to the fan. At the same time, the fan power cables are used to transmit the control signals of inposition detection of the fan, monitoring of the fan status, fan alarms, and speed adjustment.

Appearance

5.2.4 BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND Cables


This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND cables. The BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND cable has the following three types: the external input PGND cable, the PGND cable in the transmission interface box, and the PGND cable in the power interface box.

Functions
The PGND cables are used to ground the cabinets properly. The types of PGND cables are as follows:

The external PGND cables that are used to keep a cabinet well grounded. The PGND cables in the transmission interface box that are used to keep this box well grounded. The PGND cables in the power interface box are used to keep this box well grounded.

Appearance
A BTS3006C/BTS3002E PGND cable has a 25 mm2 cross-sectional area and is a yellow and green plastic insulation copper core cable. Two ends of a PGND cable are OT terminals (lugs). 5.2.5 Equipotential Cable of the BTS


This part describes the function, structure, pin assignment, and installation positions of the equipotential cable.

Function
The equipotential cable helps keep an equal potential between the cabinets and ensuring the safe operation of the BTSs.

Structure
The equipotential cable is a green and yellow cable with cross-sectional area of 25 mm2. Both ends of the cable use OT terminals. See Figure 5-5 for details. Figure 5-5 Structure of the equipotential cable

5.3 BTS3006C Transmission Cables


This topic describes the BTS3006C transmission cables. The BTS3006C transmission cables consist of the E1 cables, cabinet-group optical fibers, and SDH external optical cables. 5.3.1 BTS3006C/BTS3002E E1 Cables This topic describes the BT3006C/BTS3002E E1 cables. The BT3006C/BTS3002E E1 cables (75-ohm E1 cables and 120-ohm E1 cables) are used to transmit signals between the BTS and the BSC. 5.3.2 Optical Fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E Combined Cabinets or Cabinet Groups This topic describes the optical fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E combined cabinets or cabinet groups. 5.3.1 BTS3006C/BTS3002E E1 Cables


This topic describes the BT3006C/BTS3002E E1 cables. The BT3006C/BTS3002E E1 cables (75-ohm E1 cables and 120-ohm E1 cables) are used to transmit signals between the BTS and the BSC.

Functions
The BT3006C E1 cables (75-ohm E1 cables and 120-ohm E1 cables) are used to transmit signals between the BTS and the BSC.

Appearance
A 75-ohm E1 cable is a 3 m-long coaxial cable. It consists of four mini coaxial cables. Two of them form one E1 path. Therefore, each 75-ohm E1 cable can provide two E1 paths. 75 ohms

A 120-ohm E1 cable is a 3 m-long twisted pair cable. It consists of four twisted pair cables. Two of them form one E1 path. Therefore, each 120-ohm E1 cable can provide two E1 paths. One end of a 120-ohm E1 cable is a round waterproof connector, and the other end is a bare wire. Installation Position
The installation modes of the 75-ohm E1 cables and 120-ohm E1 cables are the same. The installation methods of cables are determined based on the cabinet installation modes.

If a BTS3006C cabinet is installed on the ground, you need to lead cables from the right cabling hole at the bottom of the base into the bottom of the DMCM in the cabinet. If a BTS3002E cabinet is installed on a wall, you need to connect cables directly to the bottom of the DMCM in the cabinet. If a BTS3006C/BTS3002E cabinet is installed on a pole, you need to connect cables directly to the bottom of the DMCM in the cabinet.

Table 5-11 lists the installation positions of a 75-ohm E1 cable and a 120-ohm E1 cable. 5.3.2 Optical Fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E Combined Cabinets or Cabinet Groups
This topic describes the optical fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E combined cabinets or cabinet groups. The optical fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E combined cabinets or cabinet groups are used to achieve the optical combined cabinets or cabinet groups between cabinets.

Functions
The optical fibers for the BTS3006C/BTS3002E combined cabinets or cabinet groups are used to achieve the optical combined cabinets or cabinet groups between cabinets.

Appearance

This topic describes the BTS3006C/BTS3002E SDH external optical cables. The BTS3006C/ BTS3002E SDH external optical cables are used to transmit optical signals so that the optical connection between the cabinet and other equipment can be established.

Functions
The BTS3006C/BTS3002E SDH external optical cables are used to transmit optical signals so that the optical connection between the cabinet and other equipment can be established.

Appearance

5.4 BTS3006C Signal Cables
