Setting Up iPod Touch


Before you can use any of the iPod Touch features, you must use iTunes to set up the iPod Touch. You can also register the iPod Touch and create an iTunes Store account (available in some countries) if you dont already have one. Registration is free.

1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes 2. Connect the iPod Touch to a USB port on your computer using the USB cable provided in the product packaging. 3. The iPod Touch should power on and iTunes open with a Welcome to Your New iPod screen. 4. To register you iPod at a later time, click Register Later and skip to step #8. 5. To register your iPod now, click Continue. 6. To register your iPod, you must have an Apple ID. a. If you already have an Apple ID, select Use my Apple ID to register my iPod i. Type in your Apple ID and Password and click Continue. ii. Type in the information requested and click Submit. b. If you do not have an Apple ID, select I do not have an Apple ID. i. Select Country and then click Continue. ii. Type in the information requested and then click Submit. 7. Your iPod Touch is now registered to you. iPod touch and Day-Brite Lighting Video Podcast
When you first sync your iPod Touch, you may receive a warning that all existing content on the iPod Touch will be replaced with data in your iTunes Library. The following instructions enable Day-Brite Lighting Videos to be added to your iPod Touch as they become available.

Instructions for subscribing and syncing to the podcast: 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. 25. In the menus at the top of the iTunes window, click on Advanced. Click "Subscribe to Podcast..." In the box, type http://www.dcolighting.com/video/ipod/db_video_podcast.xml Click OK. In the menus at the top of the iTunes window, click on Edit. Click Preferences. On the General tab, in the Show section, ensure that the Podcasts checkbox is checked. Click OK. On the left hand side of the iTunes window under Library, click Podcasts. Click View then As List, then on the right hand side of the iTunes window, click the Get All button next to the Day-Brite Lighting Videos podcast list. On the left hand side of the iTunes window, under Store, click Downloads. The status of the download of the videos is shown. DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL ALL DOWNLOADS ARE COMPLETE. On the left hand side of the iTunes window, under Devices, select the Day-Brite iPod. On the right hand side of the iTunes window, click on the Podcasts tab. Ensure Sync checkbox is check and all is selected from the episodes drop-down list. Click the Selected Podcasts radio button and check the Day-Brite Lighting Videos checkbox. Click the Sync or Apply button on the bottom right hand side. The Sync status is displayed in the center top area of the iTunes window. Do not disconnect the iPod Touch during syncing because doing so may damage the device. next to Once syncing is complete, the iPod Touch can be disconnected by clicking the eject icon the Day-Brite iPod name under Devices and disconnect the iPod Touch from the USB cable attached to the computer.

Instructions for viewing the Day-Brite Lighting videos: 26. 27. 28. 29. 30. Click the Home button on the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch may need to be unlocked by sliding the arrow across the screen with your finger. Select the Videos icon at the bottom left hand side of the iPod. Under Podcasts, select Day-Brite Lighting Videos. Select Day-Brite Lighting Video you wish to view.

Instructions for Powering Off and Charging the iPod Touch: 31. 32. To power off the iPod Touch, press and hold the power button at the top until the screen shows an arrow that says slide to power off. Then slide the arrow across the screen with your finger. To charge the iPod Touch, connect the iPod Touch to a USB port on your computer using the USB cable provided in the product packaging. The battery charge status will appear on the screen as it charges. A full charge will require about four hours and provide up to 6 hours of video playback time.
