ADT introduces the Sensormatic Clarity II - Overhead People Counting

Acquiring real-time intelligent data on the state of the retailers operations offers a competitive advantage that can make a critical difference in margins and market share. People counting solutions provide businesses with an intelligent tool to measure and evaluate labor efficiencies, calculate conversion rate, gauge advertising, improve store layout, measure merchandise changes and other budget-intensive strategic initiatives. The Clarity II sensor platform allows the integration of in-store data capture and video intelligence into one device, providing a platform for the collection of a wide range of data on the customers in-store shopping behavior.

Stereo vision is an accurate process which allows images to be transformed into real-time data with a high degree of accuracy. The camera is configured via a web interface to collect traffic data at store entrances or other points of interest. This data is collected and transmitted over the stores IT network to be analyzed and delivered in graphical, easy-to-read reports. On-board storage ensures the data is protected against any possible network failure. Clarity II can distinguish between bi-directional shopper traffic, count side-by-side traffic and track multiple people simultaneously. It also has the capability to differentiate between adults and children and will not count shopping carts or strollers. Clarity II is highly tolerant of conditions such as high traffic

Instead of overloading management with routine performance reports, ADT provides Sensormatic exception-based reporting that highlights issues customers decide are important to track. The reports are provided in graphical format, and can be delivered by email. Web Reporting
Sensormatic SmartEAS Web Reporting provides an easy-to-use centralized web portal to review business critical data. Web Reporting allows you to view all people counting data at any time from any internetenabled device. Based on the specific requirements, data can be organized and displayed into customized reports.

Tracking Technology
As shoppers pass within the Clarity II field of view, they leave a trail or path. Paths are unique to each person and each is tagged with unique IDs; these IDs can be converted into numerous metric opportunities. Clarity II allows a configured minimum height setting for tracking, with a fixed maximum height. The minimum height setting is determined during the installation process. All objects that fall between the minimum and maximum heights are tracked; those that fall outside the range are excluded.
