PSM Installation & Configuration Installation:

PSM is a powerful Project Management solution that can be used to organize your internal and/or client projects and time & expense entry, supported by strong BI & reporting around Billing, Revenue Forecasting & Resource Utilization. The solution is built on the MS Dynamics CRM Online platform along with a well-designed Mobile Web App interface. The following are the steps for the installation of the solution: Step 1: Login into CRM as a System Administrator user. Step 2: Go to Settings -> Solution -> Click on the Import (Fig. 1)

(Fig. 1) Step 3: Browse to the solution package (PSM_1_0.zip) and click on the Next button (Fig. 2)

Step 4: The next page will display the Solution information. Click on the Next button (Fig. 3)

(Fig. 3) Step 5: The next page will display the Import Options. Make sure checkbox under Post Import Actions is checked. Click on the Next button (Fig. 4)

Step 6: The import process will now start. (Fig. 5)

Step 8: Now you can see the solution in your Solutions window. (Fig. 7)

Configuration:
In this section we will go through the initial configuration of the PSM solution as per the steps outlined below. These steps are to be performed after you have successfully completed the installation steps outlined in the preceding section. Step 1: Login into CRM as a System Administrator user. Step 2: Go to Settings -> Extensions (Fig. 1).

(Fig. 1) Step 3: Click on the Project Number Configuration entity and click on New (Fig. 2). This entity record holds the Project Number auto generation setup details.

(Fig. 2) Entity Name: Specify this value cf_project. Project Number Field Name: Specify this value cf_projectnumber. Counter: The counter field contains the value of the counter. This is a number only field. Prefix: The prefix contains the prefix value. You can define any 2 or 3 letter prefix.

The combination of the prefix followed by the counter value will be your auto generated ProjectId. This Id is incremented by a value of one (by updating the Counter field automatically) for each new project created. Save & Close the entity record. Note: Each configuration entity should contain only 1 record. Configuration entities are only accessible to the System Administrator user. Step 4: Click on the Project Task Auto Number entity and click on New (Fig. 3). This entity holds the Project task Auto Number generation setup details.

(Fig. 3) Entity Name: The entity name contains the name of the project task entity. Specify the value cf_projecttask Field Name: The field name contains the name of the attribute that hold the Project Task number. Specify the value cf_tasknumber Owner: Dont make any changes here. Counter: The counter field contains the value of the counter. This is a number only field. Project Number: The project number holds the project auto number and will be automatically filled. Leave this field as is. Task Counter: The task counter holds the total count of the project tasks of a given project. Leave the field as is. It will be auto populated. Save & Close the entity record. Step 5: Click on the Resource Code entity and click on New (Fig. 4). This entity holds your organizations default resource codes (hourly billing rate). You can modify these resource codes for each Project during your Project setup. You can setup multiple resource codes like Developer, Architect, Project Manager with their default rates.

(Fig. 4) Name: This field contains the name of the resource code. Rates: This field holds the rates of the resource code on a per hour basis. Currency: Your organizations preferred/default currency. Save & Close the entity record if you are done or select Save & New to setup additional resource codes. Step 6: Expense Management entity (Fig. 5). This entity record holds your Per diem mileage rate.

(Fig. 5) Name: This field specify the name of the per diem mileage rate. Mileage Rate: This field holds the per diem mileage rate. You can modify this field as per changes in your company policy. Step 7: Your configuration entity setup is now complete. The next step is to assign either the PSM Project Manager Role or PSM Team Member role to users who will use the PSM solution.

Note: The above security roles govern access rights to the PSM solution along with features in the PSM Mobile Web App. These roles only control access to the PSM entities and are to be applied in addition to the existing security role(s) already assigned to the user. You have now completed the Installation & configuration of the PSM solution and are ready to review the training videos.
