With experience in all types of signs, anything is possible at Sign Effectz, Inc. No job is too big for us. We have a wide range of manufacturing methods at our disposal and a proven knowledge of materials. It takes the mystery out of material selection for you; we get it right the first time! We offer a variety of sign-related services in addition to manufacturing, which makes life more convenient for our customers. It reduces paperwork and transaction costs as well as eliminates the hassle of dealing with multiple vendors. For those interested in something different, check out our AFX Division, which provides architects, artists and design professionals with the engineering, materials and methods needed to fabricate and install creative architectural objects, like kinetic sculpture, active facades and ornamental building components. The two division support one other. AFX does the R & D, which in turn allows Sign Effectz to implement many of the key learnings into the sign engineering and designs.

Milwaukee Muscle Exhibit at Discovery World Museum

Discovery World Museum came to us looking for a way to create a large scale entrance for its Briggs & Stratton corporate exhibit. They wanted a 6 tall wall that was free-standing and could withstand the wear & tear from continuous tour groups. Especially important would be durability as they wanted the kids visiting the museum to be able to play on the sign. The objective: design and build something as strong as a fence post, but that has the look of an exhibit sign. Our solution was an aluminum channel letter (12 deep), contoured to match a spiral staircase in the museum that the letters are mounted to. The Milwaukee part of the sign is mounted on tubes to match the spiral of a staircase. The Muscle part is attached to the floor. The sign features a Matthews acrylic clear coat paint finish, aluminum welded construction and a CNC machined profile. We did the design, manufacture and install. This project was particularly enjoyable because it was different than your standard flat building sign and was fun to design.

Exterior Building Signage for Milwaukee Police

The intricate detailing on a Milwaukee Police officers badge is a work of art. When that badge becomes an 11 foot, custom-built sign, its truly amazing! It was an honor to be asked to build this highly visible symbol for the Milwaukee Police Department and install it on their downtown administration building at 7th and State Street. Fred Zabel, the newest member of our Account Management team, was a natural fit to work on this project because of his in-depth knowledge of the area in which it was installed and his high level of familiarity with the contractor, Beyer Construction. Fred has worked with a lot of contractors throughout Milwaukee and has developed a great rapport with them.

L.E.D. LIGHTING
Light Emitting Diodes are a familiar light source that have found their way into many new and extraordinary places for all the right reasons. When an electric current passes through a tiny stack of gem stone chips, a light is emitted. Because L.E.D.s are low voltage, usually 12 volts, they consume a fraction of the energy required for other light sources. Neon, for example, may require as much as 10 times that of L.E.D.s. Colored L.E.D.s are often warrantied by their manufacturers for up to five years or 100,000 hours of continuous operation. Color changing L.E.Ds or RGB L.E.Ds are easily controlled in terms of color and brightness. RGBs can be used to set mood and feel to a structure , building, or room. This might also include the feel of temperature. Warm colors feel warm and cool colors feel cool which can be directly related to energy savings in climate control areas. (AC in the summer and/or Heat in the winter) Using DMX controlled L.E.D.s, we can achieve many different colors and brightness levels to help set the feel for your environment.

OUTDOOR MONUMENT SIGNS

Monument signs are freestanding signs typically wider than they are tall. Monument signs are allowed in communities with more restrictive sign codes and are often limited to an overall height of 10' or less. Some communities require the monument sign to use the same building material as the building it represents. This allows for continuity between building architecture and the sign. Sign Effectz can help you with the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of your company's monument sign.
