Most of the shopkeepers refused to give any details about margins,except few who quoted that margins were around 12-15%. Price of most of the toothbrushes varied from Rs. 15 to Rs 35. The main factor about toothbrushes for customer(as per shopkeepers) was price.

Customer also looked for kids brushes and artistic brushes. They were types of bristles :Soft, Medium and Hard (Extra Soft was not available anywhere) Also, one thing that i noticed was there was no presence of big brands like Oral B, Colgate,etc.
Daatun were not available in any of shops surveyed. But still I got some valuable inforamation Daatun: They are transported by trains from nearby villages to Byculla, Mumbai. They are sold mostly by hawkers and small shopkeepers. There was no branding in this category(as per information retrieved.)
