This overview course will provide the attendees with a high-level, technical overview of the technologies and products involved with developing web-based distributed applications using IBMs WebSphere suite of tools and the Java programming language.

Audience Prerequisites Objectives

Managers, project leaders and developers of Enterprise applications

Students should have an interest in new technology and Enterprise level web-based application development.

Understand what web-based distributed applications look like. Understand (at a high level) how they function. Recognize what makes Java significant as a language. Appreciate how Object Oriented technology is applied to web-based applications. Learn some of the technology used in multi-tier client/server environments, specifically how it applies to a WebSphere application. Understand what the WebSphere product provides in the way of tools and functionality.
