Therefore its components are always included a certain amount of theory and practice in Laboratory oratories and clinical or community practices. The theory component includes the mandatory knowledge which required by MOET for all bachelor students, and the core knowledge for nursing profession. Most of theory components will be adapted from CSULB curriculum, the context of Vietnam and the characteristics of students in HMU are taken in account while making the adaptation. A strong nursing focus is appeared in every single subject and the integration among subjects is considered carefully. Laboratory oratory practices play an extremely important role in nursing education; this is a technical way to protect both community (patients) and students. Every student is required to meet a certain level of performance before having any real practice on patients. Notes that, the number of each Laboratory oratory kind would varies depend on the number of students. The Laboratory oratory equipment and protocols need to be reviewed at least once a year to analyze the accuracy with the current practices. The clinical practice is important in strengthening students capabilities; bring their competencies up to the requirement of nursing professional practice. However, in order to protect patients and students, an approved process need to be maintained. Clinical equipments and procedures need to be reviews as per the contracts between the institution and hospitals to create the good environment for practicing nursing

care. Besides that, the clinical supervisors/staffs need to be clearly pointed and well trained. 6. LNG GI V THANG IM ASSESEMENT AND GRADING 6.1. Student assessment in this degree will be generally cumulative and include both formative and summative components. (i) Cumulative assessment recognises that students learn progressively and therefore, in the majority of subjects, the final result will be an amalgamation of marks for all assessment items.

(ii) Formative assessment items are designed to inform both teachers and students about student understanding at particular points throughout the subject. Adjustments can be subsequently made to help students achieve the learning outcomes for the subject. Summative Assessment items will be used throughout each subject to determine at a particular point in time what students know and do not know. (iii) As a general rule, students will be required to achieve an overall minimum mark of 55% in order to achieve the minimum grade of pass for a subject. (iv) In some instances, and for various reasons, students may be required to achieve a pass grade in each or specified assessment items, which will be outlined in the Subject Guide and in accordance with Faculty resolutions and policies on assessment.
7

(v)

The details regarding student assessment in each subject will be outlined in the Subject Guide (outline) and be in accordance with the Faculty resolutions and policies on student assessment.

(vi) Students who have been prevented by certied illness or misadventure from submitting an assessment item (in whole or part) may be granted an extension of time determined in accordance with the Faculty resoutions and policies on assessment. 6.2. Thang im - Grading Cc tiu chun phn loi s c dng:

A number of clinical placement electives will be avaiLaboratory le each year and these may change depending on avaiLaboratory ility and demand. Apart from the clinical placement, students enrolled in this subject will be required to complete a practice project. The project will generally involve three stages: first, conducting a literature review of the avaiLaboratory le research literature; second, examining other forms of evidence, such as written policies and protocols or actual practices; and third, composing a written report on the ways in which practice can be enhanced and/or further investigated by research.

Infrastructure Library: This is an essential requirement for educating nursing to meet the international standards. Besides suggested text books which teachers might ask for, updated evidences are required. A reasonable electronic data base is needed, Skill Laboratory oratories: The philosophy underpin this curriculum has spent an important part concerning about patients perspective; then every activity which potential harm patients will be prohibited. Students only are allowed to perform a care to patient when they are confirmed that they are competent enough to. In many situations/cases, they need to complete well the practice in a skill-Laboratory . - - - There are at least three (3) skill Laboratory oratories for starting implementing the curriculum:Fundamental of Nursing Skill-Laboratory Acute Nursing Skill-Laboratory Community Nursing Skill-Laboratory

The list of needed equipment will be suggested by CSULB.

Clinical practice places: As the graduates are required to meet international standards, they need to be sunk in a good professional environment. The clinical settings which are suggested to choose need to have good medical equipments and up to date practice. The requirement on clinical teaching staffs will be present in the following part. All the clinical placements need to be bind by contract with the institution.

Human Resource HMU needs to make a human resource plan, which shows clearly about the progress and the allocation of human resource development. The nursing subjects in the curriculum need to be taught by nurse academics. CSULB will provide supports only when HMU give the human resources plan early, at least 1 year before the time of implementing. The plan should also taken in account some alternative possibilities such as: recruiting more fulltime academic (which at least have Master degree and IELTS of 6), and visiting academic/clinical teachers (which the qualification could be varies but at least, Bachelor of Nursing) Steering committee:

The committee will provide the general decisions related to the cooperation between the two institutions. It then also plays important role in liaising MOET, MOH, CSULB, HMU. Administrative staffs

These staffs will do a wide range of related works required to have a reasonable English capability to provide sufficiency supports to academic staffs from CSULB and HMU, as well as students. They will be supported by CSULB consultant. Some main tasks are: + international cooperation tasks: receiving CSULB experts, arrange accommodation, + general supports: work places, transportation, daily activities + curriculum implementing supports: facilitate the work among CSULB staffs, HMU staffs and students

Academic staffs:

HMU needs to assign suitable Academic staffs to work with CSULB staffs. To maintain the quality, the academic staff needs to be a nurse who hold Masters degree (or working towards same) and have English proficiency at IELTS 6.5 or better. Academics will be supported by CSULB academics in preparing their subject outlines. CSULB academics will work alongside HMU academics during the time a subject is implementing. In the role of an observer/assistant, HMU academic would observe all the materials, teaching methods, assessment tasks, clinical placement etc. A study tour to visit CSULB in a 3 month exchange program before or after the subject implementation will be considered to strengthen up HMU teachers capability. The opportunities to observe CSULB teacher deliver the subject in Sydney would value very much. This duration is spent for observing teaching methods, learning styles, collecting materials... The clinical supervisors will need to be bind in a contract (as the part/full time staff). They must be a nurse who has more than 3 years of experience in the field and a reasonable
43

English capability. A training program will be designed to strengthen the capabilities in teaching methods, evidence based practice, managing and leading skills. The program is going to take advantage of using some science teachers, English teachers, Medical teachers in some units/units components. Such as: - Anatomy and Physiology - Microbiology - Biostatistic - Pharmacology - Public Health
